Imagine when the kind of people who buy imaginary spaceships gets into the great horology that is 10USD AliBaba watches rebranded by some venture capitalist conman in Austria! Don't gift your loved one a Chinese watch sold at a 4000% markup
ships need to be a means to an end, not the end itself
They should've added in the end first, not last.
fkin whoops
Shh. At least you will be looking at your new fancy UI while you deliver same boxes you did for months... to buy Carrack and do piss all with it.
@@hoplit6764yep and so many dont get this
I'd start badgering C.I.G. for the basic stuff they promised twelve years ago; tactile first-person finger-swipe-ing, full-scale (orbiting) planets, mobiGlas that isn't a visual/functional insult. Many of which they have showed in their own marketing materials and concept pages.
Honestly the old ship prices were based on ancient in-game profit numbers. The earnings creep has been steady for years, even if we ignore exploits and temporarily unbalanced missions.
Agree 100%
I agree... it was always clear the ships would be much more expensive then they were...
I'd say it's a cart before a horse with ship prices and economy, JUST LIKE internal ship inventories cannot carry large components to make way for new hangars/cargo mechanics that are delayed. In the meantime, no relocating your stuff anywhere.
They said they were basing their ship prices on brand and uses. Not components, materials and stuff like that. We all know when crafting and base building will come, these things will be, AGAIN, refactored.
So in this case, the cart is not even built lol
@@Fragnatixand the horse hadn't been born yet
I had a couple of large ship weapons that could easily fit in the cargo bay but couldn't fit in the magic inventory. I have no way to move them unless fitted to a ship.
11:56 How about adding UI settings that are attached to each helmet depending on the company we buy from? that way it gives more reasons to choose certain helmets over others due to its settings capabilities!
Definitely something that should be added
don't recommend feature creep please 😢
I think the ship prices definitely needed an update. Some of the prices were super out of wack and didn't make sense. Might be a hot take, but I still think some of the ships are still too cheap.
The ship prices did need an update, but you can't balance a game on what the most exploitable way of money making gives you. Just because you can make millions of uec salvaging or running drugs or whatever the new thing will be, doesn't mean that ships should be inaccessible for everyone not fully maxing out possible profits.
(Edit) For the hit marker sound effects, I thought those already existed to some extent in 3.22, no?
they wanna entice people to buy ships with real money
@@masonmax1000 I don't think that's entirely true... but I do believe they are getting feedback from folk that have purchased ships that one should place a dollar value on time spent in game trying to obtain assets.
In short... if a C2 costs $400 to buy on the web site, then one should have to work about 20hrs in game... doing ... something... to afford one.
@@twelvewingproductions7508 Ships are a means to an end, not the end. In the current versions of the game, the ships are the end. You cannot fully utilize a lot of those ships with the ludicrous prices, because a lot of the gameplay loops are just not even there, so this move was 100% for $$$. There is no reason to go ahead and increase the prices alongside Invictus, unless that's the goal.
It's been ways of making many millions every day for ages. At least for the 3 years I have been playing. These ways will always be there unless they completely change a few very big things. These ways can be done very simple with most ships, even most starter ships. As long as you can walk inside your ship or it can fit a 1 or 2 SCU box you can make many millions each day. Lucky with RNG and you can make up to several hundred millions . Rare , but my best day I made almost 200 mill.
I think the ship price update was made less with salvage in mind but more of for the future when 1.0 comes. I could be wrong but I think CiG more or less knows how much they want players to earn depending on profession, ship size etc and is more of trying to balance it around that internal figure. I say this because of the way other game loops have been balanced like mining and cargo trading.
I'm perfectly fine with large sub-capital sized ships being expensive, but I definitely hope there is a clear sense of progression where you can regularly upgrade ships. For example, if you start doing low level bounties in a cutter, you can then upgrade to a cutlass, then to a Corsair, and finally a hammerhead. But if the barrier to buy a cutlass is really high then it won't make a lot of sense
The ship price thing reminds me of Death of a Spaceman where we lose our stuff, but they still haven't given us a way to get real money items back.
Right I was actually just thinking about that same thing this morning.
Do they realize how much money they would stand to make if they just fixed the purchasable armor like pledge ships?
Fix what you damn have already.
The other unintended consequence I don’t think they are factoring in with ship price increase. People are going to be less likely now to buy things like a reclaimer bc it’s going to be so hard to profit off of it after you pay a crew.
@@jasonbritt2497 Doubly so since they are nerfing the prices of RMC and CM. So now not only do you REQUIRE a crew, you'll get a smaller overall payoff that you then split.
@@Banzai51 and that my friend is why I believe they release the Galaxy at Invictus to everyone’s surprise. Reclaimers will need to stay out longer to get better profits over time. The Galaxy with the refinery module will allow that along with another with the Cargo module.
Also with the huge distribution centers added in I think we will see them release that ground vehicle ambulance can’t think of the name. The Galaxy medical module has its own dedicated medical lift. Be perfect for group play and testing it fits with these up coming patches
@@jasonbritt2497 honestly this. Even if they just did smth as crude as use the lost-and-found kiosk on Hurston exclusively and it was exploitable as hell (preferably only max it at 2 or so idk), they'd make BANK from people no longer going "ehhh I want this, buuuuuut"
@@Banzai51Oh no!!! Now you’ll only be able to get a maxed 890jump in 40 hours of reclaimer crewing instead of 20 on a multi month wipe!! The horror of not being end game in 2 weeks or less!!
To me it looks like they are normalizing prices per USD, Which in all honestly is fair, The A2 was only around 5.5m for a $750 ship while the carrack was like 30m in game for $600-650
11:34 gotta be honest Bones, just remove environmental effects from hud elements until you finally figure out how to do it properly. Might be easier said than done, but still
I would just like a simple slider for the transparency of the HUD. 0 - 100% would help out so much.
I dont think the UI will get to be readable until the devs actually PLAY the game.. I was chatting on a server yesterday about how blurry the UI is at times, comparing notes and configs with other playesrs... A prime example is try typing in the chat box (not the one in mobiglass); the text is blurry til you hit return...
Judging by what they said in that episode of Star Citizen Live, I think they know that it's bad from a usability point of view. The vibe I got was that they have a mandate to make it look cool. They said they have to walk a line, and I think that line runs between what the boss says they have to do and what they know they should be doing and how much they can actually say about that situation.
I think the change in price reasoning is pretty obvious. These are just an incremental step towards the final price and they want to acclimate us instead of having gigantic sticker shock. Something like the 890jump or hammerhead shouldn't be gathered by one person doing a few days worth of grinding.
I was shaving my balls with my Manscaped trimmers (thanks for the code btw) When I was looking down trimming the round and hairys I thought to myself "I wonder what time it is". Still no Polaris update😢
You are right about the Ship sales mike.
There is no in game economy.
High ship prices make sense in a persistent, working game. with a working economy and long time fun and motivation for all kinds of players.
Right now its BS. and just a way to boost ship sales.
Since when does any update for mmo's not have launch issues. People still act like this not a expected thing even though it happens 9/10 times.
Even 20 years ago we used to say: Never play on patchday!
And this was during a time, when there was no alpha or early access gameplay to begin with. Some things never change.
Except this game is always buggy and borderline unplayable. At what point will they just fix their decade-old game instead of adding to the pile?
"1.0 is only 3-4 years away" - Mike's last words
It's fine to test more expensive ships and see how it plays out. We've been earning insane amounts of credits per hour for several patches now, so some balances need to be struck.
I'm also fine with the week to week consistent performance improvements as long as that trend continues.
HUDs need to be fixed. Apps really need to to be updated as a priority. Love Jared's hazing about the "org stuff".
12: 17 Dev on holographic UI / new mobiglass : "everybody is pretty happy with the result " - uh ... no we're not ? Probably Chris holding a gun to them off camera to say that ... and also followed by " ofcourse we will iterate it" - uh yeah on average in 3-4 years by your track record ? *sigh*
No one is happy with any UI for any piece of software. So they're doing right by the people who do like it, and I'm glad. If they listened to the complainers for anything (or everything) nothing would get done and we would have a UI that's just white text on black backgrounds everywhere.
YOU like the UI in those programs, but I can find plenty of people elsewhere who do not. And that is my point.
Don’t really have a big problem with the increased ship prices if it was the case that you were able to sell (in game bought) ships as well as could be given some kind of assurance that wipes only happen say once per year or so, so there would be some level of purpose for the grinding.
It seems appropriate for the ship prices to increase. In most MMO's its a grind to get your first ship. With the great amount of ships available. You can set your own personal goals to build up your credits to purchase that ship you always wanted to fly. I would then assume for those who don't want to wait they can purchase ships from the store. Or in a bold move from CIG. They could take away the ship purchases from the store to negate the pay to win connotation that comes with that sort of option. Meaning only way to get that ship you been dreaming of is to work hard in game save up and purchase it.
ill be honest the price change on ships, it depends on if they make it worse for current in game economy or better for in game economy, as it stands right now, it take a little bit of time to get into mining which mean you can very quickly get into getting money that can buy you a ROC or ROC-DS which in a very short amount of time pays for itself. If they make it harder I can see it being a pain to get ships but I mean unless you're very impatient, it shouldn't be an unreasonable amount of time to get into even one of the more expensive ships, but thats just my perspective on it ship price increases.
Excellent, cant wait to do my 90+ 30k delivery missions to buy a Hawk...
Bones was the same guy who was fine with enormous screen reflection from his flashlight when he was demonstrating UI at CitCon, so not sure how that guy got put in charge.
Screen Reflection and Glare is a Pet hate, Its a Game FFS. Playable is the Only Standard.
wave 5 came early, its not ready, it needs another few weeks of work
Sooo much footage for all the updates you‘re reporting - totally awesome and surely a ton of work! Thumbs up
I used to get mad at you for always being negative about the game, but I realized after the copium wore off a bit, that you're just trying to be as honest as possible, and I appreciate it.
Finally Subbed.
Server meshing and pyro need to be their top priorities. This other stuff is cool but we need the mmo feel and not just one system.
Holy.. The UI team sounds so incompetent. They couldn't even give a real answer.
Players: Hey, we can hardly see anything.
UI team: Yeah we know. Anyway, look at this other stuff we did.
This is one of the few things id be okay with CIG outsourcing. There needs to be new ideas introduced because they have their mind set on this bad one.
I'm pretty sure they couldn't give a real answer because someone above them is calling the shots. The vibe I got from that SCL was that they know the UI is bad from a usability point of view but they are being pushed into making it look cool.
No Scan for Sub-targeting is going to hurt the Cutlass and Connie as it's now easy again to disable with engine targeting.
4:20 had me dead lmao
Per ship prices - if they don't wipe, I get why they did it, everyone I know is sitting on 100's of millions of AUEC. If they do wipe and didn't give the rest of the economy an overhaul, I have no clue.
Buying ships as a Clan would be also a smart and nice idea - that would keep people interacting with each other even more!
Very subtle sound hit I better than visual hitmarks, but having both is 😅 . My desired the only hit indictator would be mist or splash of blood and adequate hit animation of target loosing balance.
I guess the ship prices are too low for CIG but for testing purpose it was ok to speed up progression. Ships are going expensiv, that's not a secret. Raising the ship prices and the same time also raising the mission payout would not make any sense. Ok, inflation you know
I think it's "all speculation pause" until 1.0 announcement when we may hear what the new direction is. The economy/ship changes are still from Todd era I think?
I fully agree that the recent increase in ship prices appears to be a deliberate strategy to boost ship sales, which aligns with CIG's approach of continually seeking more revenue "Feed me Semore!". Regrettably, I have contributed to this behavior through pledges and upgrades in the past. However, I intend to prioritize my spending based on the game's progress and performance moving forward.
Ayo Mikey!!! Love the new intro / cutscene graphics , short sweet and techy… I dig it… 👍
I'd kind of like some updates on cargo missions, freight elevators, and persistent hangars. All they seem to ever talk about is the UI.
Persistent Hangars are the first step of persistent estates... which you'll gonna be able to buy, and hopefully like ships, give access to other people... There are just 5 or so other systems that would need to get finished first, buuut yeah... I want them now, why aren't they in the game yet.... ffs
i think ship prices are still to low but i think its sorta close!!! i think 40%more is proper
The amount of UEC that can be earned now. Ship prices had to change, for it was laughable how some people could make millions and exploit millions and just give it away in chat.
Great video, well said. Good tone throughout. I enjoyed this version of SaltEMike.
New ship prices needed to happen it doesnt make sense spending over $200 dollars on a ship that can be earned in game with a couple salvage runs. Large ships shouldnt be inaccessible but they should be goals for orgs and not the individual.
Exactly !
The game is not intended to be balanced around people spending money on ships. And the idea that large ships are doe orgs and not individuals is also counter to the design that has been discussed by CIG.
I think the Port Tressler shop elevators are CIG's NEW NPCs standing on chairs! Also, based on the latest patch that just came out, it appears the Cutty Black weighs NOTHING, at least on Microtech. No way they can release to live by end of the week.
I like all the FPS stuff, it feels really good, but I understand people's opinions about the markers and I would be fine with no kill markers or kill chime, just hit markers only and a non-arcadey sound for hits.
Heres my timeline:
- 3.23 live either this week or next week
- Cargo elevators/hangars sometime in June or july
- After that, i honestly think they need to jump to 4.0. It's been how many years of 3.x? If they're serious about SC now that SQ42 is done, we need to see faster improvements. They said they're shooting for 4.0 this summer, that's highly doubtful. I'm thinking at absolute minimum sometime in the fall, and that's for a static mesh.
My guess is 4.0 will have server meshing and full vulkan implementation. So probably 2025 for that.
Cargo Elevators , Private Hangars 3.24 at the end of the year (if we are lucky)
Server Mush not before Q4 2025 , more likely 2026.
I think the price rises are going to be crippling for players like myself. I only get 2-4 hours in game each week, the game already doesnt respect your time. I think big ships needed large increases, but maybe smaller ships could have been more modest.
I am in the same boat as not having much time so pulled the plug a while back to add some starter ships to make credits instead of the beginner grind. Now I have added a few Larger Ships I don't want to work to (like my MSR) but left lots of others to get later so not to "Pay" my way to the top and miss the fun of the game along the way.
What an embarassing response from the UI team.. binary thinking and false choice fallacy; “well we can’t have it look like an old school webpage so your only option is to just accept this garbage” … followed by the ridiculous “everyone’s happy with it” - what???
That's not what they said. Watch it again.
They said it can't be bland nor too flashy and over the top visually, they then explained they're looking for a balance between the design language of the game and visual accessibility.
My biggest issue with the price increases is that they actively hinder and prevent us from alpha-testing the game. Like if the game is in alpha, and we're essentially alpha-testers, why on god's green earth do they price ships that unlock entire branches of gameplay in such a maner that most players aren't going to be able to afford to test out their gameplay?
Like if SC releases massive changes to salvaging or to mining, how are most players supposed to go and actually test those changes?
Save the price increases for launch. Until then, keep prices reasonable enough we can actually test the gameplay you implement.
Increasing ship prices while the game is still in testing phase seems like a dud to me, having to grind for something that could get wiped at any point is just dumb, the point of testing should be to be able to test out stuff, ships especially since they are the main part of the game. Having to do heavy grinds just to be able to test something out is a strange choice at this stage of the game considering the grind to get these was already fairly significant to begin with. So yea, feels to me like they want to push people to shell out more money for ships rather than earning them through gameplay to test them out
At least we do not have the double-vision crud in the mobiglass now
I’m excited for engineering, but once ship armor is in, multi crew ships should be Meta for the larger ships. I’m so excited for multi crew ships to actually be multi crew.
I dunno if it's a great idea to push 3.23 to live just yet. Client seems to be very good. But using this weekend as a benchmark, server stability was very bad. If server stability improves, lets go for it.
Love the new ship prices. Really looking forward to this patch. Great round up. Salte’s working hard putting so many videos out these days, respect where it’s due. Thanks Mike.
I wanted to get a ptu before it goes live cuz i wouldve wanted to have the chance to test things as well
I LIKE THE SHIP PRICE CHANGES!! bring on the angry mob
I do too to be clear, but it is odd timing. The economy is so far from making sense.
@@SaltEMike I feel like when the economy is worked on finally, prices will go up again.
How expensive should an Aurora be if the game has planet size factories? Arc Corp should be making cheap stuff
Did they ever do a visual pass on the older freelancer ships?
super rare that I actually support anything via advertiser purchase. however, you promoted mothers day at the perfect time. So... necklace in cart. thanks for the reminder. Keep up the streams.
Thanks! It’s really cool stuff
With the discount, I circled back and added matching earrings. So funny how that works, getting my random SC trainwreck details and you are promoting unique stuff at just the right time. I normally hit Kays over at the mall, but their stuff is limited, these guys have really unique stuff, and tons to choose from, all at better prices
When I hear, I'm already passed this X patch, it really tells that CIG is selling not a game, but a game development. Yeah, people are "playing", but without progression, properly, its just a try out patch than CCU drops. Events can do so much to raise CCU but with limits, the stability of the game prevented me from being able to progress the Xeno events anyway.
Finding it hard to play at all. 3.23 will be good but without the hangers, I feel Ill just be waiting for 3.23.x.
ship prices need to be high so it extends play or grind to get it. I feel like they think we are closer than we are to a full fledged economy.
The game should have checkboxes on the buy and sell device panels, to buy and sell several items at once. It's annoying to sell a pile of items one by one.
IF Squadron 42 launches Q4 2024 and goes well, I think SC 1.0 could hit Q2 2025. But it's a stretch. How effectively (and fast) they "polish and optimize" Squadron 42 will be quite telling into the future of Star Citizen. If they can go from Oct 2023 to Oct 2024 and succeed with Squadron 42, that's good news. If not, RIP 2025 I say.
In my opinion, a reasonable player should be motivated by a price increase in stores. More motivated to earn money in the game instead of using the pledge store, or (which is an even better option) waiting for the game to be fixed. Maybe a smaller number of players on the servers will also motivate the creators.
Mike continues to be the voice of balance and reason.
Thanks for the discount code!
Liked & subscribed ages ago. Keep up the great work, man!
Didnt they also plan to reduce mission payouts? Together with the increased ship prices and no real changes to mission content I think this will be a very grindy patch, dont see why this is necessary before we get more content to test out. How will we test MM fleet combat if no one can buy the bit ships to enjox (except the $$$ speedrun people)
I think they need to work through some of the serious stability issues before they release. Once the server goes into recovery and replication layer populates a new shard... that new shard rarely recovers for longer than 5-8 minutes... followed by 8-15 minutes of "Server error" recovery as it populates (read contaminates) a fresh shard.
So while we don't have 30k's as much if at all any more, I'm not sure folks on life will take too kindly to just being stuck in a server crash limbo as all their contracts go away.
If CIG's argument is that they can't fix it at scale unless they release it at scale.. by all means release it as soon as possible so you have time to make corrective measures prior to Invictus. But I hope they have thick skin because doing that is going to be brutal for a few weeks.
But in the end... they will get over it. Do what you need to do CIG.
Now some strangeness I think they need to work on:
11:39
Why does my visor fog up and get wet when I'm in my ship? Why does my visor fog/wetness mess with my ability to read my visor hud? That projection is on the INSIDE of my helmet. Walking through something like fog should make my visor readout clear AF.
So they have some work to do as far as how things like night vision or scanner overlays are going to be done. They can't keep one aquamarine colour for that damn readout. They need to make it dynamic so we can change the colour according to our needs. Either that or some of these folks need to spend some time actually playing the game. Because aquamarine is a stone bitch to read in snow or against a blue sky.
That intro was sick btw
Traditionally game's have very large currency "sinks" and this game while it does have ways to spend money it obviously isn't enough for players to make decent decisions about their currency and so players just hold onto their in-game currency forever.
I dig the intro 🤙🏻
@saltemike 3:46 How much money do you get in "PTU?" Do you think the selling prices of different items in LIVE will increase?
15m and no…
@@SaltEMike Thanx. How do a "noob" like me make some money in live 3.23?
@80KBM as of right now salvage is good, get a vulture to start out or ask in global chat if anyone needs a hand. They typically will pay millions per hour for you to stack boxes in their reclaimer
@@dingdong89275 Thanx!
Big problem thay are making for thermselves, the suggestion that bumping ship procves close to a ship show week isnt to drive real money purchase is going to gather momentum. Bumped prices for ships with no real game loop is daft. Poor idea badly implemented🙂
CIG pls give system to shere ownership of ships
Ship sales should all be 250 dollars like tarkov.
SC 1.0 IS WAAAAY AFTER 4.0 and Pyro, and we are not even THERE yet!!
Now you said it well. They changed the prices within the game to sell more on the website. That's what I thought. At this state of the game there is no need to change prices unless for obvious reasons.
Hell yeah get money CIG 💲💲
It's been ways of making many millions every day for ages. At least for the 3 years I have been playing. These ways will always be there unless they completely change a few very big things. Lucky with RNG and you can make up to several hundred millions . Rare , but my best day I made almost 200 mill.
I don't agree with you. I think they need to figure out the economy well before full launch. They need to balance all the game loops so people will evenly spread between money making activities. Some people will salvage, others will get bounties, others will be mercenaries and other will run cargo. All of it needs to be balanced. The economy teams needs to see how much money people are making, and what activities people are doing. Then rebalance again until they truly have a balanced economy. Because once full game 1.0 hits and the game is live, they won't be able to wipe people's money or ships for the rest of the game. IMO, then need to wipe all ships and money. Check on how people make money, then wipe again and check again until they get it right.
The idea of trying to "balance the economy" while still selling the ships for real cash is utter nonsense. IMO, as long as ships can be bought for money, there can never be balance. Only by stopping ship sales will they ever be able to try and balance the game. Will that ever happen? It seems increasingly unlikely to me.
@@marvinvargas4988 Majority of people will only buy the starter ships (
Ship prices are way too extreme. A casual player that logs for a hour or two a day will never get a new ship. Ever.
They showed better engineering gameplay at Citcon last year than what they put in AC for testing. So was last years Citcon engineering gameplay faked or have they gone backwards.... I know which I would go for lol
Another good video but Star Citizen news is starting to feel long in the tooth. Its like white noise that never has an end. I so much want to be excited but the muck of deploying new uncompleted stuff with the target of selling uncompleted ships is starting to feel like "shame on me if I buy more".
To me ships are equipment, not content. They're nice to have, but getting a ship, even a big one, should enable you to do different content, not be the content. And to do it when wipes are still a thing just feels awful. In most games with wipes/full loot, equipment is easy to obtain; it's the best tiers of those equipment that are not.
it's always so funny when english native speakers pronounce german words :D
I don't like holzkern though.
I ordered my ex a watch and it broke, just because she moved her wrist in a normal manner. (i didn't see it, but she said she was just standing up from a chair while slightly supporting herself on the armrests)
the wood connecting the watch to the band broke.
i called them and they said literally said:" it's no warranty case. it's normal... what do i think? they are made of wood."
i gave them a second chance, even though they had an a-hole on support. bought a different model.
it survived 4 days. ex supported herself on a billard table while leaning forward. wrist wasn't even angled more than 45° (this time i saw it)
Broke again. same spot. the watch wasn't tight and she's skinny.
Called them again. this time the guy (a different one) laughed at me and said the same as the other one.
wouldn't touch any of there products ever again.
They should at least make the connecting joints out of metal and get a polite support staff. xD
Its gonna be a mess, even more of a mess, And whole lot worse than now haha
Hopefully we'll have SQ42 do distract us, and CIG continues to just throw EVERYTHING into live and test channels, BUT continue to test them in ArenaCommander/StarMarine is CLOSED environments, so we can MEASURE... BUT just make more CIG plz? like, why not have Kareah as a map, people start in a invicible Idris, launch from deck, goal is completed hack....
You SHOULD have that tech already to make gamemodes QUICKLY... which ideally should actually just be your mission logic, fyi and the "gamemode" just hooks in on those events.
Buuut long story short. I believe they'll get there.
The fastest way to adjust the grind on ships without taking huge chunks of manpower to fix the economy? Inflate the current aUEC rate.
Unfortunate that they seem to be pushing for live prematurely. 3.22.1 is very playable and as a 10+ year backer, I'm finally enjoying playing a good amount of hours in a patch. Rushing 3.23 is going to backfire.
So, let me understand your logic here. We're playing a space sim that takes place in the future where we run around in advanced space suits, and you find it imersive breaking when you can hear the target getting hit?
I mean, if we're playing rust, I'd by that. But you're in an advanced space suit. Are you really saying it's out of the realm of possibility the suit can't focus and augment sound.....in a future that has space ships capable of insane speeds and armaments? Really?
So maybe we should also mount the gun to the suit and let the suit do the aiming? I mean, it is the future and the suit does exactly know where our bullets are going right?
@oO0Xenos0Oo Well, if it's a mech suite, I'd say sounds cool! 😎
For the purposes of this argument, though, having say a targeting reticle displayed on your visor not far fetched. Having auditory amplification is not far-fetched.
Nitpicking about it seems so petty. I mean, you harp on realism, but overlook space combat. It's literally airplanes in space, and you act if combat in space works like it's depicted. There's no friction, no air, and you can change your heading with relative easy depending on current speed, of course. Instead, we get aerodynamic effects in the atmosphere produced in space.
Now, if you're all about the "immersion," this seems a bit hypocritical. If you're willing to cut space combat slack, so too should you apply it in different areas of the game. Hell, I have huge issues with the inertial Gforce. It seems pretty off to me. Kinda hard to determine seeing as I haven't seen top speed of the ships and how long it takes it to achieve said speed. So, if it's off, you're all about fixing it in the name of realism right?

Audible hit confirmation is kinda the norm for modern FPS. You are doing poor sophistry here with your non sequitur.
@@AnEntropyFan Thats the point. They are implementing all those arcade shooter mechanics into a simulation game. Powerslide, minimap, short time to kill, wallhack, medipens, lenseflare, virtual crosshair and now hit markers. This is not Call of Duty with nearly instant respawns, but instead minutes or even hours of setup time for each pvp engagement. They are doing everything they can to slow down ship to ship combat because of that but the fps portion of the game is getting turned into an arcade shooter. This might work for squadron42 but implementing it into the persistent universe is just a stupid idea.

My main complaint is the shield mechanics for MM. I cannot stand shield loss upon swapping to Nav from SCM. I feel that you should not lose them, but prevented from regenerating for a set time. The poor mechanic of shunting the shield capacity into a battery for reset going from Nav to SCM is clunky and makes player trying to escape attackers a very bad mechanic. We've played this scenario in AC, easy kill to just wait thill the fleeing player to go to Nav mode and launch missiles. Loss of flare and noise along with loss of shields is just plain silly and shows that CIG doesn't play their own game. You work for CIG, can't you say something? ;P
Realistically you should be safe (and I haven't tried MM, so correct me if I'm wrong) as long as you're escaping from or coming into combat, but not as safe trying to use nav mode to cross a combat zone, and that makes sense to me. Being able to be in nav mode with full shields seems like escape wouldn't really involve any gameplay besides just hitting the button.
Hit markers are definitely heard in real life. When you shoot bodies or flesh you can hear an audible thump.
I mean, someone next to the body can, but the shooter def isnt hearing that shit
@@Jewifer333x2 nah, I’ve shot a animal before. Within 100 yards you can hear it.
when is the next subscriber items update dropping in for may?
Not sure.
Well i'm glad i got my HH, C2, and Reclaimer before the prices went stupid.
they are gonna wipe them all
@@soup5817 Eventually.
Is it unusual for them to not announce that there will be a wipe this late in the cycle?
@9:33 Feedback on our feedback freights? What? The only feedback I have so far is a counter showing how many people are currently playing in each game mode so I don't have to click through them all to search for life.
haha of course they raised prices to encourage ship sales. But I am not surprised. I am still not convinced this game can happen without ship sales. This won't be the last time they do this either trust me.
@xsaltEMike925 Yes finally!! You can just send the prize to your mom's house. I will pick it up later.
3.23 is an aesthetic update, nothing of substance will be added. The DC will get old quick without cargo missions etc. Just more stuff to look at.
Give me a brightness setting for my ship interior and mfds plllllzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
