- My friend Pete at Hysides Motorcycles brought a bike from his collection for me to ride, the Yamaha R1-Z 250 2 stroke, its a bike from 1990 , rides so nice and the engine is really good, love the 250cc TZR engine in it, hope you enjoyed the video

I love my little R1-Z it's a real hoot to ride and brings out the hooligan in me. I made a few changes to mine to make it a bit more competitive in the performance, handling and braking departments while keeping the ports standard and it is a real flyer for it's size now and revs to the moon and back. Great bikes

Just picked up one of those.. love it and has really strong mid range power. And sounds epic!

Used to own a lucky strike VJ21 went like stink.. great bikes . I bought a NC30 as well all original lovely thing it is.
R1z is beautiful looking bike, twin 2t engine sounds brilliant too, 2t is most of our first experience of motorbikes too, lovely

You bugger - I didn't want to click on this & now I want another R1Z. Had one a few years ago but it wasn't in such superb condition, & apart from taking 30 kicks to start from cold, it never let me down. Kicking myself now for selling.

The amount of bikes I wish I still had 😂 they are not everyday bikes, well not anymore any way, I wouldn’t want to do a lot of flat straight miles on one but for just a little blast around the lanes 2strokes are awesome
Love a two stroke, my first road was bike a Suzuki GT 185, then KH250, RD 350LC, they all fetch serious money now. Been looking on eBay too lol
Ian yeah mate I think when you started on 2strokes you always have that love for them, anything 2stroke seems to be fetching good (for the seller) money now.. a few of the guys here have some nice 2strokes so will get some videos on them all
Refreshingly honest appraisal. I’ve had mine for about 10 years. They really aren’t that fast, it is only a 40hp 250 at the end of the day, and the standard front calipers are terrible, worse than my single pot calipers on my LC. But they handle fantastic, I fitted r6 calipers and a Nitron rear shock. I love it. Sounds good even on standard pipes.
Awesome, yeah it’s such a nice bike to ride around twisty roads, they are not the fastest bike but when your on the throttle and in the power band it feels great, loved it, and thanks , appreciate it :)

K2tec pipes are really bad designed. Cuts off lot of horse power.
