Gorl, i have like three pairs of shoes. And that's it. I don't care if they make me look chunkier with some dress. That's all I got and I'm wearing it anyways
I pair my white sneakers with every kind of clothes. Literally everything. Even my formal clothes. Don't know if it looks good or bad. The comfortable feeling is everything for me
It's not my style for me (I LOVE wearing waist definition) but I think it gives a high-fashion, dramatic, bold, modern look that looks and feels great on some people. It's kinda the Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen look. It kinda reminds me of runway models where the eye is more drawn to the clothes than to the person beneath them.
If you want the kibbe answer, she's wearing flamboyant natural lines and isn't a flamboyant natural. Basically her bone structure is too small to support the structureless dresses. Aside from the shorter dress, all of those would look good on a Cindy Crawford or Julia Robert's who have longer, broader bodies.
exactly some girls in the comments keep saying its not flattering but lets be realistic here no one walks in a tight bodycon dress in the summer heat😭😭😂😂😂
Thank you Lydia; always great advice and ideas to shop our closets! I have to say, I am probably two generations older than alot of this audience, and I normally watch the videos on my TV and don't read the comments- now I know why. My god, people- if you don't have anything nice to say, then just don't! This is her job, she is giving you ideas and advice and if you don't like something, so be it, do what you want. There is no reason to be catty, nasty, or judgmental. Honestly, I am glad I am the age I am and didn't grow up with all the online ugliness...really a sad state of affairs.
I personally LOVED all the dresses. Thanks for always helping with the appropriate foot ware. Sometimes I just can’t figure out what’s wrong with the whole pic. Most of the time, it’s the shoes!!
I’m glad the see the general consensus agrees that the first dress is just awful 😭 some of these are lovely, though, in my opinion :) I like the white/last one a lot.
In Europe i see most women wearing feminine dresses with white flat trainers everywhere. It looks really elegant. Strappy sandles are not always practical with daily life!
Hi Lydia! I’d love your thoughts on how to accessorize the “little white dress”. I am having a courthouse wedding and have a mid length white dress and I’d love to know how to zhuzh it up and still feel bridal, but not overdo it for a simple ceremony.
I absolutely love your style and your styling tips ❤️. I love the little white bag that you paired with the stripe shirt dress? What brand is the bag? Do you have a link?
You use this word ‘twee’ all the time, but what do you really mean by it? It’s defined as “affectedly or excessively dainty, delicate, cute, or quaint”. But surely you’re not saying people can’t dress uber feminine, delicate, cute etc. if they want to be chic. Curious to know what you mean by this.
I believe Lydia’s use of the word ‘twee’ is meant exactly as it’s definition- affected or excessively cute. It seems fairly obvious to me- it can look somewhat childish at a certain age to wear huge puffy sleeves and ballet pumps- I used to wear that when I was a child going to a birthday party !Lydia’s channel is to advise, not to act as the fashion police and everyone can choose to interpret or follow her style and advice as they wish.
Yes, she's mentioned before that it is ok if it's your style and the look you're going for, but her videos are for people who want to achieve her specific style. Hope that helps! 🙂
All of those rules are shoe things I've been most drawn to! I'm into cottony, flowy/drapey, fairly light/delicate dresses/clothes that have a soft looseness though always waist definition and I love gentle shaping such as princess seams. Not a crisp, stiff, structured, bulky, or sharp feel. And with that I really dislike wearing bulky, chunky shoes. I love a delicate feel to my shoes and love when they blend closely to my skin color or pants/leggings/socks color. Cause that lengthens legs but also just has a subtle quality I like. I like pretty low contrast.
Rule #1
Don't wear ugly dresses.
😂😂😂😂😂
Rule #1
Don't be ugly like you
They all look like nightgowns, grannies’ nightgowns
😂😂
I was so surprised by the dresses worn in this reel! Clownishly big and frumpy.
Gorl, i have like three pairs of shoes. And that's it. I don't care if they make me look chunkier with some dress. That's all I got and I'm wearing it anyways
Facts
Don't worry. Trends change all the time.
It's not law. Like do what you want. I don't think she's gonna care what you end up doing
its to help people who have troubles pairing stuff, since you're not one of them why being that irritated 💀
Same lol
I pair my white sneakers with every kind of clothes. Literally everything. Even my formal clothes. Don't know if it looks good or bad. The comfortable feeling is everything for me
i usually get inspo pairing long, flowy dresses with sneakers from korean or japanese fashion/casual wear
Sameee
Why do all the dresses look like she's a kid wearing her parents clothing
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I agree. A bit too oversized and the style is a bit juvenile.

It would surely look better with a belt😊

Honestly, I thought the second dress with the sneakers was a win
Yes me too! All the rest is amazing though
That 1st dress is so top heavy.
All of this looks ugly af regardless of shoes
It’s the dresses
lmaooooo
I liked them lol
Just wear what you want! And mix it how you want!
I agree!
No need to watch styling tips then . You just saved you lots of time
Watching tips confuse me and contributes stress on how to dress....
I love a loose dress in the summer. Nice and airy
exactly some girls in the comments keep saying its not flattering but lets be realistic here no one walks in a tight bodycon dress in the summer heat😭😭😂😂😂
I love these videos! Thank you! Your explanations are very helpful no matter what the dress.
That first dress looked like when Kanye dressed as a block..
thank you! you taught me that not every outfit needs a black piece 😆 that black can be sometimes harsh. i think my pieces look better now!
True!! Shoes can change an outfit completely, for good or evil...
I love these dresses so much especially the last one ,love that white dress so much .
Loving your content, I learn so much from your tips!
Ikr?! Long live Lydia!
I need more of this because I need help with shoe pairing.

All of those outfits and shoes are cute 😍. Bless you.
Love your shoe-pairing videos! So, so helpful.
Make sure you think about the location too…I was just in Portugal and trainers with everything was the only way to go!
BS! I wear mine w ballerina flats and I look fine
I personally LOVED all the dresses. Thanks for always helping with the appropriate foot ware. Sometimes I just can’t figure out what’s wrong with the whole pic. Most of the time, it’s the shoes!!
I can imagine how many pairs of shoes she has in her collection…
Granny dresses
May I suggest Anna Bey’s channel to the lovely woman who created this video? I’m sorry but you really should, as these dresses are horrendous.
she's awful and so judgmental. Let Lydia do her thing. She does not need your suggestion.
Unpopular opinion but I love the dresses 😭 not everything has to be form fitting guys 😭
It does when you're 5 foot bloody nothing 😭
They don’t but I think this whole loose fitting trend has gone way too far. Let’s bring fitted clothes back!! 😂
These dresses are absolutely ugly!!! The first “don’t “ is do not buy dresses that can fit two of you!
Nothing wrong. I love all the look! Cute😍😍😍
I usually cant figire these things out so i just always end up in jeans. Thank u
I’m glad the see the general consensus agrees that the first dress is just awful 😭 some of these are lovely, though, in my opinion :) I like the white/last one a lot.
Sorry but its a pass these dresses are just nah
She’s a mentor for me now
those dresses are all awful potato sacks
Loved the dresses

That second dress looks like the “house coats” my grandmother used to wear. 😆
Please list links for those loose dresses. Love them!!
Right!
It's in the description
I luv all your tips!

Thank you Lydia for helping me be to be mindful how to pairing my clothes with my shoes for the summer or whenever!
For a moment I thought you were taking to me . I’m also called Lydia 😂
idk why but her dresses remind me of indian nighties
Very comfortable. Thank you 👍❤️
Hi there can you do a video about styling bags? Thanks!!
This is the video we’ve all been waiting for!! Thanks!!
I like the first dress and the "don't" shoes. I've actually worn something like it before.
Everything about the second dress screams "grandma's house dress", footwear isn't going to save it. I do like the last white dress though.
I liked all the shoes combinations (both the do's and don'ts). I say just put it on, if you like how you look, you're ready to go.
The first dress looked like a box, the two dresses in the middle looked like rectangles and the last dress looked like a trapezoid. 💀
I love the loose dresses, so comfy
I just wear my beige heels with everything
Didn't realize moos moos were back in style lol
I love all the dresses, oversized is my type ❤️
I absolutely love your style and your styling tips ❤️. I love the little white bag that you paired with the stripe shirt dress? What brand is the bag? Do you have a link?
It's The “Béri“ from Polene: euro.polene-paris.com/products/numero-onze-craie-graine
I think pairing dress with sneaker
look cute and chic. it is not too sweet. just the opinion.

Really nice video! ❤👍👍🧥 If I don’t like to show my toes is there any other shoes 🥿 options to match with a short and long dresses?
Yes but I don't have that many shoes 😭😔
And they’d all look better with a little heel.
Well, I will not wear strappy sandals everywhere, even if it's chiller or I need protection for my feet, just because it doesn't balance the outfit😉
These particular sandals are so ugly.
Love it 😍

Love the white shoulder bag. Where is it from?
It's The “Béri“ from Polene: euro.polene-paris.com/products/numero-onze-craie-graine
Or just wear your DrMartens with everything :)
would the first dress work with sneakers too? :)
The rules are way easier when you just wear converse hi-tops with everything ;)
Alternatively, wear what you want and sod what others think.
Id have done a pop of color. Although you do look very elegant and i adore the sunnies 👍
Where is that gorgeous final white dress from?
Wear 👏🏼what 👏🏼 you 👏🏼 want 👏🏼
And here i thought there's no rules when it comes to fashion😅
I watch this video over just to refresh my mind on the do's N don't
I LOOOVEEEE shirt dresses!
Hi I love your white dress , where is it from?
Would love to know where to purchase everyone of those dresses!!

Do and Donts of Pairing Dress with Shoes :
Do pair it as you like it
Don't listen to boring suggestion
Ballet flats are MADE for short shirts she dresses!
Me who only wears white sneakers and a white flat with every dress i have
I love these dresses!! So good for summer and you can go with less undergarments and get away with it in those kine.
Ugly dresses. It reminds me of what my grandmother would wear inside the house. 😂😂😂
Just buy sandals! Sandals is the key!🙈
I hate those dresses
I think these dresses would all look nice with a belt
Totally agree
It's how someone bring it
Dresses are all too big.
Both dresses are HUGE on you ... I don't get it. So big, I can't even pay attention to your shoes 😜
