It was a prime opportunity to put her in a position where she could be embarrassed on an international level. Her megastar brother was already going through his own embarrassment. What are the odds? She can say what she wants that people need to move on. But her life was destroyed in a way that none of us who comment on these threads could ever imagine. She lost endorsements, tour dates, income that she had to share with an entire production company. I don’t take it lightly that she has to get over it and move on even if she has to say that. But then on the other hand, I feel losing her brother may have put her mind on another dimension. She maybe sincere in moving on even if some if us never will, on her behalf.

If her album sales had soared because of this (she had an album that was getting ready to come out) they would have been patting themselves on the back for being so brave and edgy. It flopped so it turned into an “accident”. Janet’s topless “Rolling Stone” cover back in the day was a hit so they decided to take it a step further and it failed. They decided to do this during a time when families are gathered around with their children.
Women are so much more valuable than they know but attention has always been the standard for how valuable you are. This thing about woman stripping is empowering is a bunch of bull. That’s why so many strippers and prostitutes do drugs to numb their minds. They know it’s not empowering.

@@valerieproctor7366 This is not true. In 2018 Janet said she had a conversation with Justin, the interview is with KOST 1035 and its on UA-cam. She did not change her story. 1) The clip of her speaking to Randy in the documentary is from 2017 which was her real time reaction 2) The 2022 clip is her repeating herself as she's tired of hearing about the Superbowl. Janet had said she moved on back in her many interviews from 2006, so she is not saying anything different now.

I'm with Janet. It was blown way out of proportion. I saw the so called incident on live tv. I saw nothing. I've heard live tv is delayed a few seconds, on purpose, just for cases like that & it was blurred or cut out. Janet paid dearly for it even tho it wasn't her fault. Let's move on & forget about it.

Janet did a great job on her documentary I enjoyed every minute of it she's has such a humble spirit. Janet could have went further in her career it wasn't for that incident with Justin Timberlane he the one who exposed her but, she took the blame, and messed her career up that wasn't right. This makes no sense because I watched the Oprah interview years ago where she made it seem like he left her high and dry and that they weren't friends. That she didn't consider him a friend. Oprah asked the questions everyone wanted to know and she answered them clearly so now I'm confused.

i remember watching this live, and even on a big screen TV you could not make out much detail and it appeared like she was wearing a sticker over her nipple (like the famous Lil Kim outfit from 1999). it wasn't until years later i saw an original photo that was either taken locally or just from a higher quality source and i realized it was a giant nipple ring. either way, i will never forget how hilarious my mom's response was trying to scramble and cover my eyes lol. Also don't forget that SNL did a bit when Pam Anderson hosted in 1997 where they ripped her clothes off during her monologue and no one cared about that

@@jewel77jewel14 he initially said it was planned but then called it a malfunction once people started attacking her in an attempt to protect her. He also said in interview he was told there would be a red bra underneath, which I believe based on his reaction/panicing and trying to cover her up (i think in that moment he though he did something wrong only to realize after he got off stage there wasnt a bra at all/he was mislead) and her also claiming publicly there was a bra, but if you look at pictures and have any understanding of physics there was not a bra aside from the black leather snap on cup that was, and was designed to be, taken off. On top of pictures of the snaps coming done early in performance and showing bare skin, and the cup in his hand after only showing a red trim sew into the top hem...where was any ripped or torn fabric? Why was it so clean? Why was she not yanked when he pulled of this so called bra cup (not including the snap on piece that was made to easily come off)? There wasnt any trace of a red bra at all.
She also later admitted in a radio interview it was planned and the piece was supposed to come off how it did.
Its weird to me how she didnt just come out and say it was planned in the documentary tbh. I dont think anyone would care at this point. Shes hiding it for a reason.

I assumed she said that so Justin wouldn’t get any backlash from the doc. Notice how in the documentary she said that everyone needs to move on and she filmed it on her phone so it was probably a last minute video to add in. She knew Justin was gonna get cooked on social media.

He was following instruction on what to do and i do believe he was an nonchalant and innocent about what was going to go down. I think what she is saying at some point he needed to speak up. She is saying at the time when things unfoled it was best he not say anything, but at some point when things die down he needs to speak up.

You're forgetting Justified was already 2 years old by 2004, he was still touring in Europe to support the album at the time. Janet on the other hand, had a new album coming out that was released just a month later. She became the most searched person on the internet that year, this was her moment not Justin's, he was merely an accessory to the performance, they had been friends since NSYNC opened up for her tour in 1998.

This incident is entirely her fault. Unless Justin decided for her costume and the choreo then I would understand and blame him. But if you look back you clearly see that what he did was meant to be done in the choreography. So you cannot blame him after.

She can be mad and reconsider the issue with time and come back a different view. It’s called growth and maturity. And good people around her may have advised her to be still and let whatever spiritual awareness she summons fight her battle. The whole thing was planned by both of them from the start. It was foolish of them on BOTH their parts.
They both come from a performing background where props and choreography are practiced repeatedly to avoid mistakes. It backfired on them, because it didn't get the response they expected. Wardrobe malfunction my eye. Who wears silver pasties under a removable bra piece?
I'm blaming them both. It was a national family show. They both should understand the FCC guidelines. They were pushing the envelope. It didn't work.

You cant talk when your under NDA (Janet had him and anyone directly involved sign an NDA, the stylist, tayler, makeup artists, and choreographer have all publicly stated she in fact had everyone sign one that night).
He (along with her) was in a huge lawsuit with the FCC (and a bunch other ls with different entities) that lasted 10 years.
He was legally gagged.
He did openly back her up many times though. His MTV interview shortly after is one example. All you have to do is google and youll find all the times he spoke up for her.
Him calling it a malfunction the next day (when people started to attack her) was also a protective move towards her. He knew (and she later admitted, several times) it was planned. He called it a malfunction in an attempt to dull the anger of people saying she did it on purpose.
Her and her entire team left him to deal with all the press/networks alone after (the all left immediately from exiting the stage). He was notified of the reveal minutes before (flew in from his European tour 20 mins prior and had a brief meeting with Janet minutes before stage time where he was notified about the reveal). Him sticking around and being quick thinking enough to call it a malfunction to protect her even though he was left to deal with it by his "friend" and person who asked him to be her guest (and left his tour to do her the favor)...that speaks volumes of him and is something I guarantee most of yall wouldnt do. I bet most of those commenting in here would have ran and not protect someone who betrayed you.

@@drockherb2073 Those who were directly part of her performance (especially the stylist and the person who altered the outfit for her) have publicly stated everyone involved (including themselves) signed an NDA that night. Justin has never stated exactly what went on and who planned or said what to this day...even when he and his family (including young kids, mother, and wife) have been receiving d threats due to this over the past year. He also never made any shady references. The only time hes ever spoken on it was the night of the show (when her team all left the arena immiediatly after stage so he had to answer to the press and networks alone) and later when he stated on mtv and a few other articles that she was being treated unfairly and that the media/society are harsher on women and especially black women.
She also just stated on her documentary she asked him to stay quiet. But like I said...according to those who have also signed those NDAs...it wasnt really a request and more like a demand.
