Been struggling with masturbation for the longest, I’ll do good for about two weeks, then go right back to day zero. It’s hard, it is so hard. But God, given me so many ways to stay fed spiritually, for example the B side, and Tim Ross.

I love that- I would add to it that discipline is not doing what you don’t want to do. Discipline is not doing what you WANT to do. Which is why we will fall short but we have to accept the fact that we will make mistakes and we can strive to do better. That’s why it’s called self control. It’s a process not a light switch.
This brought me to tears! As a believer who accepted Christ very young, I can relate to the young lady because I’ve been there. I was so bound by shame/guilt and laws of religion. Took God chasing me for years to understand his grace and love. I hope Tim’s reply encouraged and blessed this lady!

It was just last night I was having thoughts about my attractions to the same sex, and I have given up a lot of things but this one was hard. Finally last night I finally gave it up, because I felt secure in my attractions, but God really spoke to me and said it's time, and I prayed and I finally decided that I don't have to hold on to it anymore. It really comes down to sacrificing what you love for the God you love. There is joy in that, to know that you have fully committed your flesh to God, regardless of temptation. At this point, what do I have to lose.
This is the realest thing I’ve heard to where I’m at in my life currently. I thank you Monique for being vulnerable and asking this question I’ve been asking my self for months. During times where I’m sinning I do hear that voice in my head (the self god is calling me to be) trying to push my flesh or old self through whatever I’m doing currently. I hear songs of praise and worship music in the midst of my sinful nature and I’ve couldn’t explain this feeling for a while but it’s makes sense. I had two guys one random and one who I went to high school with that I haven’t heard from that’s Gods calling me higher and I just believe I’ve been ignoring the signs or one just not ready to fully believe and die to my old self yet. This explanation by Tim makes so much sense
I am shocked right now because this is the first time I’ve heard someone other than myself experience worship and gospel songs start to play in their head during those times when they’re actively sinning. After watching this video, I got the question. Will I choose to give in to this temporary sense of pleasure over the loving relationship I have with God? It makes me have to identify what is more important to me. And this goes back to God giving us free will to choose. Is the connection with God more important than a temporary sense of pleasure?
Going along with what he said, you have to change your identity, if you’re OK with sin, you’ll always be a sinner, therefore identify as a sinner, but if you put God first and identify as a faithful servant, sin will be less tempting and easier to resist. Similar to if you were a smoker you can’t just quit until you change your identity. “I’m not a smoker anymore” “I’m not a sinner anymore” of course we all sin but your need for gods grace will be far less than wherever you are now.
And this is how you can tell someone who had been anointed to teach from someone who can spit out scriptures. Thank you Tim for practically explaining the process of how one gets to the point where they understand the impact that their sin has on their closeness with GOD.
If you’re a Christian struggling with sexual sin or any habitual sin, please read Jeremiah and see yourself as Israel. It will convict you and save your life, it’s what it’s doing for me now.

This was very timely the crucifixion of the flesh! it’s not that I don’t enjoy physical pleasures I actually do but it’s not in agreement with Christ and it’s actually a barrier from experiencing God in totality and impeding my growth in him. It is a must that I establish and practice boundaries.
Interesting, i in all my years as a christian have never heard that you may still like your sin but you must refuse it. For years i beg God to make me hate my sin, to help me get away drom it but i ghank you for making it clear that i may never enjoy abstaining drom the things my flesh enjoys. Thisbis a big revelation

Brother may I give you some advice I pray you take it. I remember years ago I was watching a brother in Christ kind of the same thing you were doing and he had to blurred out but I knew what website it was and all that . All I was thinking was about that website instead of listening to what he had to say. Keep in mind that the people watching this video are vulnerable and are trying to find a way to get out of that temptation. any little Pebble on the floor will make them stumble and fall i speak from experience. I think we can all share experiences where we both hated and loved something . The quest is for us to hate it more than we love it, and he will bring us to a fullness on that day.
