This was really helpful. I have this pack have just bought poles and didn’t know what to do with them. Thanks for the share.

Great review. Great pack. I did the Skye ridge using this pack and was awesome and as you say very versatile indeed, best pack on the market.

Great timing I’m in the market for a new pack and didn’t even consider this make. Thanks for the in depth review 👍

Great review, and particularly glad you touched on the point about the attachment jostling around.

Great review, thanks for the insight. I live in a warmer climate and I’m curious how does it breathe as just the 5L vest? Thanks

Thanks Greg. Is fairly good. You notice it, but not too hot (but I have only used it up to about 30 degrees). Also due to rear pocket isn't all mesh at the rear.

TMR Coaching I’m kind of torn between this and the Salomon ADV skin 5L. Sounds like you’ve used the ADV 12L. Thoughts between the two? Thanks

@@Mtn.Masochist Yes, used the 12l and still do. Do you use poles (and carrying lots of things) - if so I'd say the Inov-8. If not, then the Salomon has my vote. Is a bit more comfortable/more flexible and overall more fitted. Both really good packs, but for me the Inov-8 is for big days out/races with a lot of kit. Short runs/less kit I use the Salomon.

Good review, looks like a great pack. After last weekend pole storage would have been something I’d have liked in my pack, I was wearing my Naked belt but it was a faff after 6 hours to keep putting them in and out of the straps. I might make some modifications to my Salomon

Thanks for the review - I noted the kangaroo pouches are quite loose and on other makes I would have my water bottles there but think with this they will need to be in the zip pocket behind. Still need to work out where I will put my food supplies though

Never had anything come out of them when wearing it. But as soon as you out it down they open and things fall out.
I carry my food in them and in general fine.

I'm aware you posted this video a while ago but I'm currently thinking about one of these vests so I'm hoping you can answer my question as your review is great. In all the reviews I've seen for this everyone mentions the choice of bottle placement, either lower down or on the chest, but I can't find anyone talking about differing mouth pieces? Obviously if you have the water bottles in the upper pockets the long straws/tubes won't be practical. I've seen people mentioning cutting the long straws down but then you won't be able to use the bottles in the lower pockets as the mouth piece won't reach your mouth? Do the bottles come with two separate mouth pieces? Cheers

      Hi Chris
I didn't come with separate mouth pieces. Someone mentioned (not sure if correct) that you could swap the top of the straw moth piece and use direct on the bottle but I've not tried. I used other soft flasks in the chest pockets and inov-8 straw bottles on the side. Just bought some cheaper soft flasks and works well.

An excellent review. You mentioned using multiple water bottles at the same time-I like that idea. When using the chest pockets for water bottles, do you use/add a short length of tube (straw) so that it’s easier to drink/reach the bite valve? If so, what length? Thanks

    • @TMRCoaching

      Thanks Brian
No, I was just using a standard salomon soft flask with the bite valve, it was easy to reach. I think a small straw would make it a little easier still, but I never felt it was an issue without.

Hi there I'm the same chest size as you 38inches. How do you find the fitting when fully laden? I'm toying with the idea of the L/XL as the size chart from Inov8 I'm at the top end of the S/M

    • @TMRCoaching
      @TMRCoaching  4 роки тому

No issues with size when fully laden. Fit is consistent. And have options to expand a lot. Only 5ft 6, so height may impact it slightly?

@@TMRCoaching Thanks for the reply I'm 5ft 11 so you might be right there 😏 what I dont want is for it to be to tight if you know what I mean

Have you used a bladder at all? Considering getting it for 24 hour races but I need to be able to carry a bladder. I'm concerned by the lack of padding between the bladder pocket and your back

Hi Greg. Sorry, no. Not had an opportunity yet.
