That oil you are finding is called fluid film. A rust preventative that creaps into crevices to prevent rust. Does not hurt the paint. And is toxic free. Its messy yo apply and xmelks the first week. And needs to be done yearly. A vehicles body sprayed with it from when it was new that is 20 to 25 years old will be like it is only a few years old.

My 1st vehicle was an 89 XLT, black w/red interior, 5.0. Handme down from my Dad.Truck had 400k when I traded it on a 94 GMC. Today a good friend of mine purchased 89 XLT, 5.9. New fuel tank, pump, transfer case & trans for $600. I'm gonna offer him 2k and hopefully he'll let me get it. Only rust we found was where the spare tire rubber at the bottom touches the tailgate. 1 dent driver door where someone hit it with a 4wheeler. It's been sitting for several years. Back brakes were locked. He is restoring a 70 model short wheel base now. Stepside with wood panels. Lifted with 06 f259 axles & brakes. Manual trans crate motor. I just built 16 hemi Ram be- 06 F250 6.0 bullet proofed. Have 04 F350 dually that was flooded during hurricane. I plan on using the axles & airbags on my 250. I'll be watching the rest of your content to learn about the Bronco's. I've been researching mods & common issues with the 89 since I discovered he had it. Hadn't talked to him lately bc of hunting season but td I needed to fab something and needed to use his plasma cutter and he had just got it. I don't believe in coincidence.

Hello Chris , from central pa , the product of oily film is called ( Fluid Film ) . I've used this product on my 87 Bronco applications every 5 yes as well as my other vehicles. You can apply it inside out under the vehicle, in doors , the rear gate door , wheel lips . The only testimony is my 87 still has the original rear gate door .
I have a few cans and have used the extension tube toi line the inside of frame rails, but on things that come in contact with dirt and dust, i'm not a big fan.

Hey Chris, thanks for your videos. I’ve been able to replace all the seals and the window wipes on my 95 full-size bronco we bought it new here in Vegas. I’ve changed every drop of oil on this thing. It’s got 146,000 miles and with your recommendation, I used bronco graveyard parts that fit like brand new thanks to you and Branco bronco graveyard. It’s a nice quiet ride. Take care. I've seen the videos of guys putting closed cell foam piping in the old ones to make them like new for those who don't want to buy new seals!! Great video as always!
I saw that to. These seals lasted over 20 years as they were. They are $38 a set at JBG. Small price to pay for piece of mind. Plus I found a little rust and the seals were just wore out and flat.

This was super helpful. Thanks! I just replaced mine. The doors a VERY sealed now. However, the door protrudes (sticks) out from the rest of the body now that the seals are so thick. Will the seals eventually flatten out and allow the door to sink back into the body of the truck?
Great video, so after watching it, I installed new door seals on my 94 Bronco and the door became very hard to close (latch). I re-positioned the striker but the door will not flush up with the outside of the body. Its almost like the weatherstripping is too thick. Any suggestions
If that rocker on the bottom where the bottom of the door presses against that little lip of metal the seal sits on/against is rusted out and missing the lip whats the best way to repair that. Grind down the rust and weld repair?

Do you or does anyone out there know where I can find the part number or the actual (bulb-clip) that holds the 900 series lamps which clip into place and illuminates the ashtray and the wiper washer and headlamp backlit areas of the dash? (Black clip-bulb holder with two springy tabs) I can read this number off of it, E3TB-13A714-AAO4 Both I have are broken and both have illegible part numbers on them, and I have no idea what to call this thing. I have googled my eyes out and cannot find it at all. Thanks for any help!!!

I have replaced the driver side weather seal. Now I have to slam the door to get it fully closed. I have adjusted the striker however the door is still hard to close completely. Do you have a video on how to adjust the door? My door is aligned correctly but to get it flush I really have to slam the door.

Any ideas on fixing the whistle from a loose wing window???? I’ve thought about building up RTV in the gap between the door and the window. Also tried tapping the upper hinge out to try to close the gap….it helped but there’s still a gap when it’s patched.

I have a 1995 F-150 XLT and I replaced the door seals (they were ripped), window channel seals (window was closing rough and squeaking), and the felts (they were all cracked). But now I'm still getting a good amount of wind noise near the front of the doors when going about 55+ MPH. Any idea how to diagnose that and or fix it? Thanks again for the videos. Super helpful.
Usually that’s from your vent windows. If not, how bad are your door pins? Did you adjust the door striker? Dumb question but are th seats installed correctly? Under/ over trim? Let me know.
@@BroncosandPartsGarage - thanks for the quick response. Door pins seem to be in good condition since the door doesn't sag (unless there is other ways to see). I did adjust the door striker to accomodate the new weather stripping but plan on readjustinng back when the weather stirpping forms to it a bit more. Also, seats are installed correctly and over the trim/carpet if thats what you mean.
What’s the difference between the regular and the premium they sell on their website? I called and the guy who answered had no idea. The ones I ordered from LMC are way too thick and door won’t shut flush at all… been 4 months now, even after adjusting the striker
What company makes the door seals that you bought at Bronco Graveyard? I bought a set for my F150 (same body style as your Bronco)from a different suppler, and have to !!!SLAM!!! the doors to get them to close, Wondering If all the makers of these door seals present this problem.
Mine were Precision brand. You need to keep slamming the door for about three months until the seals. Get softer and get seated. It’s a common issue. Try to resist moving your striker.

1 year later my passenger door is still sticking out an inch. Also my window doesn’t roll on that side, probally because I had to slam my door so hard. Any solutions to this besides “waiting”. Seems there’s more to weather stripping than install and letting it soften up…

Sombody before me had put bigger screws in my passenger side door panel plus they are silver really bugs me so my friend is going weld up the holes then we are going to use to factory size black screws my 96 interior looks spotless but the different screws in the door panel I can't stand

How bad is your door sagging? Left up on outer lower corner with the door barely open. Is sagging replace pins. Or check your fender alignment. Door hinges rarely come loose but you could check them as well
I don’t like listening to the wind noise driving down the road as it is. (Cold in Detroit) Plus I enjoy working on these trucks and don’t mind doing it twice.

Give the new seals about 2-3 months to settle in and soften up. They will with use. Then u can re adjust ur stroker

I would cut out and reweld in a partial piece or the lip.

I used strips of soft butyl rope commonly used when installing older windshields.

Door body seals…. They are all pretty good. But window felts I recommend premium

Aftermarket seals don’t fit the best. I’d try and find used in good condition. Or make sure your latch it tightened
The owner put a small coating of oil in the wire track, is that a good idea?
Probably can’t hurt but it’s probably not good for the paint either

It took 3-4 months for mine to soften up and take the proper shape.

Sombody before me had put bigger screws in my passenger side door panel plus they are silver really bugs me so my friend is going weld up the holes then we are going to use to factory size black screws my 96 interior looks spotless but the different screws in the door panel I can't stand

@@BroncosandPartsGarage Wow thanks I will. I was just going to hit my old junkyard see what I could find drive 45 minutes for matching screws Lol. The side mirrors had all different screws as well I just found all the correct ones changed them out this pass weekend

Slam it hard. The seals take 60-90 days to soften up
When I open my passenger door it ever so slightly clips the fender but the seams have the same width on both sides. Any idea on why that is?
How bad is your door sagging? Left up on outer lower corner with the door barely open. Is sagging replace pins. Or check your fender alignment. Door hinges rarely come loose but you could check them as well

If painting later ???? Why not replace during / after??? Easier to mask when jambing.
