- Bermuda grass can make a beautiful lawn. I hare a bermuda grass treatment plan that will take you through an entire 12 month calendar. Oftentimes, people apply the right products at the wrong time. Sometimes they simply apply the wrong products. I am hoping to help you build an effective lawn care program including pre and post emergent herbicides, as well as fertilizer. You can simply things if you want. Here are a few key points to remember: 1) Apply you pre emergent before the target weeds germinate. For example, apply prodiamine before soil temperatures reach 55 degrees which is when crabgrass germinates. 2) Pre emergent don't fix everything. You will still likely need some post emergent products to help with tough weeds in the lawn. 3) Bermuda grass can handle quite a bit of fertilizer but that costs money and requires frequent mowing. Hopefully these tips will help you have a beautiful bermuda lawn this year.

What about for central Tx where the summers are very hot and the winters can be at freezing or lower?

How long are you looking for each of your fert applications to last? 90 days or so?
I need the first one to last around 90 days. The second one might last a little longer. I can adjust the rate to get more or less time out of it
I am in the Southeast also. I have Bermuda sod and its looks awful, full of POA Annua. What should I put down now to get started?
At this point, I would just let it die out from the heat. You will need to spray a pre-emergent next fall to get ahead of most of it

Metsulfuron at 0.25 ounces per acre. I would wait until it is growing. Metsulfuron is in products like MSM turf or Manor
@@lawncarelife I am brand new and using battery powered 4 gallon Solos. I do have a 15 gallon tank I measure MSM turf into. Can it do done?
