doc why dont you sell a program that people can buy and we get the products at a schedule when they have to be applied kinda like how scott does. And it also encourages people to watch your video.
Thank you Doc for another great video packed with information. Army worms were horrible in Southern Alabama last year, but not a one (so far) this year. I give the credit to Double Kill, been putting it down every 60 days on my Bermuda.
Tif Tuf Bermuda is amazing! Gave up the failing cool season long fescue as I live in the South and it looks bad when the weather gets hot. Plus, everyone’s grass gets a fungus. My lawn is the happiest when it’s hot. We got a robotic lawnmower to handle the frequent mowing.
doc, I aerated my yard early june and leveled with some sand. first time for this yard in probably 10 years. can I do a round 2 in a week or is that too much?
Hey Doc, maybe you could find a local machine shop to make a rear roller replacement for one of your reel mowers that could serve as the rear roller but also have thin sharp discs that would vertical cut also. Or an attachment that could mount on the back that drops down when you want but raise up when you turn around or cross the sidewalk.
Doc, you say to seed now 80 degrees is good, is that the minimum? I’m in north Texas and it’s supposed to be in the mid 90’s the next couple weeks but I wanted to core, sand and seed before fall..thoughts?
Doc. . . Great video, again! I love that you get technical and dumb it down too. I need the latter more often than not. Thank you. Question: Do you know if EGO is going to make a battery powered thatching machine anytime soon? Keep up the great work Doc.
Hey Doc, Looking to remove the St. Augustine in my back yard and replace it with Bermuda. I live in Rialto, California. Went to you website for the calendar and was wondering if it applied to all regions.
If you’ve treated for weeds, there’s no need to pull the weed itself. For the most part Bermuda (if that’s what you have) will fill and grow into the areas where the weeds were essentially choking out the weeds. There are actually some weeds that have seeds within roots so pulling them could increase possibility of spreading the weed. If you treated for weeds, follow your schedule or a recommended schedule and apply pre-emergent to prevent any further weeds from growing.
I had a weak area of my lawn, dug it up and realized the landscaper laid the sod directly on construction debris. I got a few new pieces of sod to repair the area. While cleaning the area up I also notice some small grubs. I have some doublekill and want to put down some down. Can I put the double kill directly on the new sod? Or should I put the double kill on the bare soil and then lay the sod on top? Or should I hold off on the double kill until the new sod is established?
Hey Doc, we're just getting started watching your videos. You said don't panic with new sod but we're panicking. It was gorgeous the first month here in Newnan GA, but now it is browning and thin and I'm terrified I'm losing a huge investment. Leave it alone....or what guide should we follow? We're watering like crazy. Thanks!
Doc, I have 16 week old Tifway that is barely greening up. Three weeks ago I got some replacement sod after the utility company did some excavating. That has really taken off and looks fantastic (except for the nutsedge). Should I consider plugging from the healthy section to unhealthy sections to give my Tifway a jump start for next year?
Doc, I have bermuda that is very brown as of late August. It was thick in June/July but brown now. I think I let it get too tall (around 3.5") and now I'm wondering if I should cut it short (2") before September. What do you think?
I'm going to be a new home owner in a few weeks and in July they are laying down brand new Bermuda. Do you have any advice for a brand new lawn in August here in Texas?
water the hell out of it, id get some triple 13 or 15 or 20 and put it out lightly. if your using a scotts maybe a 4. dont forget pre-emergents in october time. im SW of fort worth
Spend the slight bit of extra money and get zoysia. Especially if you plan to have trees in your yard. Zoysia has a variety that looks and acts just like Bermuda
I believe the rule of thumb is no fertilizer / chemicals for the first 6 months. Not sure what part of Texas, I’m in Fort Worth, and you’ll want to keep that Bermuda sod wet. Also, if the builder doesn’t do it I would roll the sod several times. 👍
Water it heavily for the first week or so the roots can take off. No pre emergant or weed killers for the first growing cycle, spot treat or hand pull. Don’t fertilizer it immediately or you can potentially stunt the growth, don’t aerate new sod, don’t detach. I know that’s a lot of don’ts, but new Bermuda sod is picky. Since it’s late in the season, I’d say your best bet is to just water and mow.
You're going to want to water it often to get it started depending on how long it'll be down before you move in. I recommend 2 times a day for 2 weeks and then you'll be able to lower your watering schedule to 3-4 times a week.
Ok Doc, I am in Central Ga. as well, and have been waiting on something for Moles. Is it too late to till and reseed? Tired of over growth of other grass. Makes my Bermuda look bad.
I'm in AZ, where it's 105-110 deg, so essentially in permenant drought, but I water a TON. even do the daily watering as you have recommneded. The past month my bermunda just doesnt look great. I've got my McLane at 3/4" (was at 1/2" in the Spring and it looked awesome). I tried a hard cut to 1/2" and it grew back - it keeps growing and I have to cut every 3 days - but just isnt all that green. Lots of brown showing through. anything to recommend besides PGF and water??
I appreciate your videos but if there is someone you can recommend for grass care in the Pacific Northwest? I fight with fungus and moss and could use timelines for treatments.
Hey Doc, I've been having issues with dogfennel popping up in my backyard all summer. I put down the Barricadw preemergent early spring and have sprayed with Weed Stop and the dogfennel keeps coming back. Any advice?
Hey Doc, I tried to level my lawn, it got leveled to some extent and that was probably month and a half back but now I see lot of yellow/brown patches throughout. Need your help and suggestions If you can provided some place where I can get a good leveling mix other than soil3 which is very expensive
I live in South Dakota, I have ants everywhere. Ant hills all over my yard. What will take care of that. Also I had snow fungus ? This spring. What do I do?
Also the bare patch in “bills yard” was reseeded by you in an earlier video. I would like to know if the majority of the growth in that area is from grass moving in or the seed that was spread there.
Hey Doc, I love your videos! However, the first thing I noticed was the glaring typo… Shedule should be Schedule. I know it’s picky, but I deplore typos. Keep up the good work!
Doc, I have a celebration bermuda lawn in South Louisiana. It has rained, no joke, everday the last 4.5 weeks with maybe 4 days of no rain. Hard rains that have absolutely saturated everything. I am cutting about every 3 days in between rain showers but the yard just doesn't look right. What should we be doing with this much rain? Should I feed the lawn or will it just wash off. I have stayed ahead of fungus and bugs but I just think the ground is so wet we are in danger of roots rotting.

Lol, when I first started lawn care, I thought it would be a piece of cake.
Heads up! Reporting from north Georgia, found some army worms in my lawn last week! Looking forward to the new product!

Excited about the new product. Thanks Doc

You should be good.
Yippee cool weather coming🥳🙌🏼

Doc, when is too late to start a leveling project in north TX? Thanks for all the info!
What bermuda seed do you recommend for North TX?

Once the weeds start dying , do you pull the dead weeds?

Check for armyworms #1, if not then it's a matter of water usually.

I'd probably just leave it for the first year. I think next year you'll be fine.
I hope this new stuff could be sold in Calif cause most of anderson can't be sold in Calif.
I just moved to a new house and it has aerobic system. What does that actually do to the bermuda grass?
Love your info

I’m in central Fl and has about a half an acre of army worm damage with in 3 days on a baseball field that 2 1/2 acres.. 3 weeks ago

Nope
Great information. Thanks

What do you think about adding mycorrhiza fungus into a yard and garden to encourage a even better nutrient transfer between root systems
Can you do a video regarding Bremuda seed heads
He already has 2 videos up with that topic
Not a bad thing! They don't reproduce you can pull them out or mow over them they'll last for a short period of time!
My soil test came back with quite bit high iron. I never apply iron did have a lot rain recently. But how do I lower the iron
I personally wouldn't worry about high iron in the lawn itself. If it really bothered you, you'd want to raise the ph higher to balance it.
Doc I bought sod about a month ago worms ate it, I killed the worms but my sod looks dead but still has a little green. HELP WHAT CAN I DO
I live in South Dakota, I have ants everywhere. Ant hills all over my yard. What will take care of that. Also I had snow fungus ? This spring. What do I do?
www.howtowithdoc.com/best-grub-and-armyworm-killer/ used that at the beach house for ants. Had to do two rounds.
So how often do we put DB down on the grass?
Yo Doc ... Do you get a lawn sweeper for these aeration plugs from the box stores or is this other than a leaf sweeper?
Doc what the hell you said a few weeks ago to NEVER use a scarifer????
Which pre emergent did you use?
Hey doc, can you use super juice in an lawn fertigation system? What would you recommend?
I don't think it would stay suspended. It would settle and not work.
What’s the height of cut he does with the zero turn??
About 1.5 now
What do you do with Japanese beatles?
Why did you reseed your lawn instead of feeding it and letting it grow in as you just instructed in your video?
Also the bare patch in “bills yard” was reseeded by you in an earlier video. I would like to know if the majority of the growth in that area is from grass moving in or the seed that was spread there.

OOPPSS ... have a pretty good record of not having typos... but that little bastard got away.. :)
Heard anything From Anderson's about shortages of Govenor G ? Amazon is calling out of stock!
Yes, they are running more this week
Can I play football on there
