I love that Rabea treats his guitar tech like a human being. To be fair, in the world-tour giganto-bands, it's probably more common to switch out techs a lot.
Finally my dream has come true. To see rob and bea's gear.
hey man,
the small price jump was basically because, at the time, the proto was based on that model in this video, however the new proto 2 which is what is coming out has cost a little more to manufacture, therefore the small jump in price
As for the 1 piece padauk N4, they only made 8 of them. It's even rarer than you thought.
Now we need Dave's gear tour!
I like gear and all...but these dudes have reached a whole new level of guitar geekdom..
but is that really a bad thing?
It's not a "bad thing".. just a bit much lol
Like..string gauge talk!?!?
Josh Martins are you serious?
Lauri Lehto when they start going into discussion about what string gauge and what type of picks ...yeah it's a little ridiculous
MY GOD, Pablo is truly inspirational! to see a man with only one fully normal hand being such a great guitar tech/luthier is incredible! Pablo is truly a man worthy of the term Hench as fuck!
Woh love these gear tours.
Stay away from imagining the visual but imagine the singing amazing-ness...
"What's in the little tiny secret one?" [Explosion] [Fade to Black]
haha!! Great place to end it!
Why can't everyone speak in Pablo's amazing voice, the world would be a much better place!
Bea, you are a legend
love these guys cool dudes
Whoa!!!!! Cool!!!
Those strymon pedals are awesome.
I picked up a sky blue reverb for £250 for vintage and rare.
Once plugged in stereo through a marshall = heaven.
Hey man, thanks for the response. I'm a big fan and gear head!
my god Phil'X seems to be really ...a nice man in fact !
How wasted is Phil x?He never blinked.
Signal line
Red bull - Dave - Bass - Pedal board as seen on pedal board video on this channel - amp - dunka dunka
I know so much about bass hahaha :P
Nice shirt mate ;)
Bea uses exactly the same gauge I use for drop C on my Alexi V. Except I use Elixir.
It would have been nice to see what channels/settings Bea uses on his JVM. Anyone have an idea?
hey bea, you should get the original damage control timeline and the damage control glass nexus.
those two pedals are the fathers of your strymon pedals and sound even more amazing! (real tube driven preamps, direct out --> most awesome tone you can get from pedals)
both kinda rare but from time to time you can get one on ebay.
I mean the strymon, eventide and tc pedals are great but no challenge for the original damage control devices.
if you ever get the chance, try one!
Rob, you guys should check out DCpedalboards If you've ever had trouble finding power outlets, then they can help you.
Alnico or ceramic warpig?
pablo is a legend :)
11:23 the most epic face ever \m/
pedal train made my pedal board supplied by tone tools!!!
When will we be able to buy Bea's signature guitar?
Did you guys do one for Phil, Dave, Dan (not that you really need one), and maybe even Ben? :D
Hey Bea any reason for the jump in price from 599 what you said in the video to 649 which it is now? I don't mind I'll probably buy it anyway but just would like to know :)
A great deal is just personal preference, orginal floyd roses tend to be better quality, however, there are many other floyd roses that are just as good, you'd be best just trying a few different types out and finding which you most prefer.
Damn, I'm almost already using Rabea-gauge strings on one of my guitars; 10, 13, 20, 32, 44, 56, for C# standard tuning.
to anybody that uses floyd roses i recommend installing (or getting someone else to install) a hipshot tremsetter it eliminates all tuning anoyances
What company made your pedal-board?
Pablo, how did you do the lighting inside the guitar stands? I've got one myself that i want to do the same thing to.
Dude, the 'Bea sig. Chapman is AWESOME. And the price?!?!
Where was dave's rundown? :(
no his pedal boards changed you can see it briefly at 5:17
Never seen that one before. For people that use the tremolo I don't see a reason to not get one! I don't use mine though so I block of plywood to block it works fine. Useful tip though.
anyone know the band's name of the song in the ending ad?
I'm going to be thinking about what is in the "tiny secret one" for the rest of the day...
ahh ok dude :) and any reason for not having a war pig in the bridge? you have it in loads of your other guitars don't you?
whens daves gear tour coming ?
Phil X is great. What a funny guy. How big is Dorje in England?
i dont think theyre THAT big, not that theyre not that good, theyre great, and they deserve to be bigger as long as rob doesnt let the money get to him.
***** No doubt Catalyst. His YT following has given them a nice start.
Hopefully they can capitalize on that.
agreed
Phucking Phil.. HAHAHAHA .. What a riot.
Rabea's signature guitar looks like a BCRich zoltan bathory model
its picks! well i think it is , that little tiny secret drawer is narnia
Bea is such a nice guy, demon player too.
Hey Rabea, This might be a stupid question but do you run the channel switch through the back as well or do you run it through the front like the other pedal on the right. Im new to this pedal board stuff as I just pick up my first jvm the joe satch one from andertons its awesome :D
Hey pal, the footswitch actually has its own special input on the back of the amp, kinda like a controller on a game console. Since it's a footswitch and it controls many aspects of the amp (say channels, gain stages within a channel, reverb, etc) it needs a separate and direct input. You can't put a footswitch in your pedalboard chain because it needs to go directly to the amp, and nowhere else from there. Hope that helps and also hope I'm not answering too late... oh.
Rob's laugh in there....
PHIL X!!!!!!!!
OH GOD I LOVE PHIL LOL
WHAT"S IN THE LITTLE SECRET ONE?!?!?!?!
Goddamn it whats in the secret drawer chappers!
Rabea Massaad gear tour? More like Rob Chapman's face tour.
Pekka Kaukalo no eipä oikeestaan
WHAT'S IN THE TINY LITTLE SECRET ONE!?!?!?!
yes. original floyd roses are the best, then come floyd rose 1000 and floyd rose special which are also genuine Fr.
can some1 tell me why he runs his amp threw a 2*12 cab instead of a 4*12?
*****
wel woodnt u get more volume out of a 4*12 cab?
***** Portability is also a big factor. Zilla cabs rule in my opinion.
Dude amps usually get miced.
I played festival gigs with a 112 cab.
599 is a great fucking deal for a guitar of that caliber
i apparently use the rabea massad gauge cuz i use ernie balls with the same gauges
Nvm , saw that dorje's channel commented on their vid :p
OMG!!!! WHAT IS IN PABLO'S LITTLE SECRET DRAWER???? You bastards!!! haha
Beas a tall guy how frickin tall is Paul?
was gonna say the same
Now, i didnt say it was a bad mental image!
Sounds like he gets lots of free stuff
Check the channel uploads.
great... now im thinking of phil x in the shower!
Wouldn't 10, 13, 17, 32, 44, 56 work better
The reason for the much heavier bottom string is because he plays in drop c#
Harry Souter I know, I've played in drop C# with 9-46 before
I'm saying have a more gradual walk up to the 56
sorry . looking back that was an obvious and stupid comment . but i guess the graduation isn't needed because it is a bigger drop from the fifth to the sixth string
5 seconds into the video and, yea, the intro sucks, doesn't do justice to you guys, change it.
Isn't this just showing off for the sake of it? Prior to playing live Id have all my guitars set up & intonated, guages selected well in advance. Also all this bullshit about heavy guages. Tony Iommi made all the Sabbath albums on Picato 008-038. Tone is really in the fingers. Im sure Sabbath will be resonating long after the demise of this stage school funk metal combo...
Tony Iommi also had his fingertips chopped off and played with prosthetics, those thin strings were kinda necessary. I doubt he'd have done the same thing had he kept his fingertips.
Who knows? In the 1970's people wanted lighter strings & he pioneered their use., but lots of heavy albums were done with non heavy gauge strings. Heavy gauge strings have just become fashionable recently, my real issue was who sets their guitars up on show day?
jezzer1969 I think heavy strings are better for detuning (i.e. tunings other than standard E, like drop D/C etc) because the tension is way different so different gauges are more comfortable.
Using 8's in Drop C tuning isn't going to work out, there's no string tension with that setup and the strings will just flap around too much and buzz. Heavier string gauges are essential for downtuning while keeping the intonation accurate plus these guys are heavy handed so they need a thicker gauge to dig in. You get better tone because of this.
