    I love that Rabea treats his guitar tech like a human being. To be fair, in the world-tour giganto-bands, it's probably more common to switch out techs a lot.

    hey man,
    the small price jump was basically because, at the time, the proto was based on that model in this video, however the new proto 2 which is what is coming out has cost a little more to manufacture, therefore the small jump in price

    hey bea, you should get the original damage control timeline and the damage control glass nexus.
    those two pedals are the fathers of your strymon pedals and sound even more amazing! (real tube driven preamps, direct out --> most awesome tone you can get from pedals)
    both kinda rare but from time to time you can get one on ebay.
    I mean the strymon, eventide and tc pedals are great but no challenge for the original damage control devices.
    if you ever get the chance, try one!

    A great deal is just personal preference, orginal floyd roses tend to be better quality, however, there are many other floyd roses that are just as good, you'd be best just trying a few different types out and finding which you most prefer.

    Hey Rabea, This might be a stupid question but do you run the channel switch through the back as well or do you run it through the front like the other pedal on the right. Im new to this pedal board stuff as I just pick up my first jvm the joe satch one from andertons its awesome :D

    • @TheRythmGuitarGuy
      @TheRythmGuitarGuy 9 років тому +2

      Hey pal, the footswitch actually has its own special input on the back of the amp, kinda like a controller on a game console. Since it's a footswitch and it controls many aspects of the amp (say channels, gain stages within a channel, reverb, etc) it needs a separate and direct input. You can't put a footswitch in your pedalboard chain because it needs to go directly to the amp, and nowhere else from there. Hope that helps and also hope I'm not answering too late... oh.

  • @jezzer1969
    @jezzer1969 9 років тому

    Isn't this just showing off for the sake of it? Prior to playing live Id have all my guitars set up & intonated, guages selected well in advance. Also all this bullshit about heavy guages. Tony Iommi made all the Sabbath albums on Picato 008-038. Tone is really in the fingers. Im sure Sabbath will be resonating long after the demise of this stage school funk metal combo...

    • @k.g.alatore355
      @k.g.alatore355 9 років тому +4

      Tony Iommi also had his fingertips chopped off and played with prosthetics, those thin strings were kinda necessary. I doubt he'd have done the same thing had he kept his fingertips.

    • @jezzer1969
      @jezzer1969 9 років тому +2

      Who knows? In the 1970's people wanted lighter strings & he pioneered their use., but lots of heavy albums were done with non heavy gauge strings. Heavy gauge strings have just become fashionable recently, my real issue was who sets their guitars up on show day?

    • @DrSpaceman69
      @DrSpaceman69 9 років тому

      jezzer1969 I think heavy strings are better for detuning (i.e. tunings other than standard E, like drop D/C etc) because the tension is way different so different gauges are more comfortable.

    • @joshhawkinsguitar
      @joshhawkinsguitar 8 років тому +2

      Using 8's in Drop C tuning isn't going to work out, there's no string tension with that setup and the strings will just flap around too much and buzz. Heavier string gauges are essential for downtuning while keeping the intonation accurate plus these guys are heavy handed so they need a thicker gauge to dig in. You get better tone because of this.
