Misleading, nowhere in this video did you explain how you maintain your afro.
He answered that question in another video. You wake up and just fluff the side of the afro you were sleeping on
I'm about to start weekly gigging at a pub, and I always come back to this video whenever I feel a sense of nerves or anxiety. Cheers Bea. You've got me ready to live out the dream! :)
You seem to be a nice guy. Keep up the good work. I wish you all the best for your career.
cheers from Germany
Dear Rabea, you are a true gentleman and a great musician, but your true worth is that you really are a caring and loving human being... thanks for the chance to get to know you through your videos, if you ever are around southamerica, Chile in particular, then do please tell me so... I'm looking forward to taking your guitar course... I have my band, which I invite you to hear on soundcloud jorgerojas45 is my page there... It's nothing like what you play or write, but I would love your opinion anyway... good luck luck with all your bands, and hope to hear from you...
Wow, thank you so much man! I really appreciate your kind words, it means a lot to have support from people like you man!
+Rabea Massaad hope to meet you someday!!! Have a great day, mate
thanx man, your right
Part 2? :D
Cheers guys, i'm glad you have found this helpful..... more tome come soon :-)
Bea, you're such a stand-up guy. Thanks for your thoughts - particularly on songwriting and how to think through tone and the roles different instruments play - very helpful. Rock on!
Thanks Bea, I was kinda hoping you'd post something like this soon. It was crazily helpful!
keep up the awesome riffs man,
You young man (I can call you that because I'm old).. are an inspiration.. you are humble.. appreciative and respectful.... I've watched this video a couple times now and have learned new things that help me greatly.. that bit about how to build a song from the chorus is brilliant.. I enjoy your music and you personally.. be well
BEA... You are THE MAN. I wish the whole lot of us approached the craft the same way as you do. For sure, i wish i did.
Cheers man, good advice :) Can't wait to hear more of your music along with the bands.
Great advice, Bea! Thank you for the inspiring words.
You have great attitude and say very positive and inspire things. Thanks for your sharing.
Thanks a lot Bea! This was really helpful and I'd love to see more vids like this! :)
Thanks Bea! I was needing for some of the tips you gave here
This is your best video yet. Thanks!
I just got leaned! Fantastic knowledge filled video man! Thanks! Cheers!
thanks for being one of my inspirations bea keep jammin
Thank you so much for this video! The thing about mixing in well with other band members was really helpful
Nice work Bea, I like that it is more about being professional in your approach instead of a how to be a "pro". Keep it up!
dude, you are such an inspiration. thanks a lot!
Thanks for this man, really useful tips!
Thanks Bea..... keep on keepin on.
WE LOVE YOU BEA
Thanks Claudio, this is great advice
Hey man, good tips! But if might advice you, you should put your background music lower, because we're mostly interested in what you have to say. If it is your music that you are advertising, maybe you could put it lower throughout the vídeo and between subjects you give a pause to your talk and let the music roll louder. Cheers man, keep up and good luck
Awesome vid, very interesting. None of my freinds play guitar so this is the only way I can learn stuff like this. Thanks Bea, you are a big influence in my playing.
really helpful video. You are a big inspiration.
you have a great way of explaining Bea
thanks bea awesome video! you're a legend!
Thanks for the tips, super helpful
Just saw Dorje in Cardiff. Very impressed with the tues. Loved the Chapman guitars too!
Very helpful advice considering i'm am playing my first gig in a few weeks, thanks man! :)
Just to address the "stressing about not making it" point, I think if you're in it for the right reasons, the path getting there, the process should be enjoyable, too. If not, try and work out why.
From a song writing perspective: record riffs/ideas then and there - on camera if possible. Not only does this stop you from forgetting it hours later, but you and the other members can all listen to it when they get home and develop on it in a way they may not be able to in a jam.
Great vid, Bea :)
Great stuff Bea thanks for this. I normally start with verses and don't actually have a finished song yet so I'm gonna start with the chorus now. Then I just need someone else to play with! ha ha!
If that video lasted 3 hours I would still watch every second of it. Twice. Man that was priceless
Thanks for inspiring me. Very helpful video
hey man, Rob wrote the Aeromancy riff :-)
basically i get songs going a lot, and so the guys just go with it, the majority of Dorje's material has been written by me, but there are some songs that have been written by all of us :-)
Some really helpful tips BEA! Cheers! \m/
Yeah man, i did.... it was taking off, but Dave and i felt that we were spending are time and energy in the wrong project. plus the music wasn't as much something we enjoyed as opposed to our own musical ventures.
i like writing and performing my own music, not someone elses as such
Really helpful, cheers Bea
Thanks for your tips great vids :)
thanks a lot dude... the backing tracks are my own songs, i've had for a little while now
thanks this has been very helpful
Wow I just made my tone way better from a 10 minute video. Thanks a lot man.
Oh, I see.
I've seen that and it even comes through in the music and dynamics, sometimes. You're absolutely right, though. Gotta work through it for the sake of the band and the chance to play.
Thanks for replying. :)
Legend!
hey man, sorry i think you misunderstood my point, i was just trying to put across the point that we as guitarists get so involved with gear and pedals, that sometimes our boards get a little over the top for the required gig, especially if you're doing a few different sessions. Like i was the last year, so it was a point i felt was relevant. Cheers :-)
Great video dude, very useful stuff to share!
Stick
Good advice thanks. Definitely agree that your live tone or even rehearsal studio song are different from the one you get indoors and it can be disappointing at first. Also I would agree that you shouldn't drink before a gig. Luckily I never could because I was always driving otherwise I may have done to calm my nerves and it would probably have been a disaster.
cheers man :-) i'll certainly do my best
I like the song writing tip about starting with the chorus
14:10 its even better if you keep fretting the previous notes on previous strings... and move up note by note. it helps a lot
Some nice tips on songwriting there.
Thanks you for this vid!
Ha sha sha sha!!
Everymandy thanks!
I'm loving the orange tinted ToneHenge.
Tom petty and the heartbreakers have a saying "Don't bore us, get to the chorus" truer words have never been spoken regarding modern music
You can most certainly use a normal effects pedal through modelling amp. The amp is designed to treat the signal coming through it in the same way the actual amps would. ie. any pedal should sound roughly the same as they would on the amp that's being modelled.
I have a Vypyr 30, as well.. :)
The wisdom of the fro has been shared
Great advice Bea. String breakage is one of the many reasons that i don't use Floyd Rose vibrato's myself. Just too much pissing about for me :) i also tend to use my pedal tuner to kill the sound if i have to switch guitars..
We are nifty bits!!!!!!!!
I actually tend to break in the second verse more often, I find standard song form can get too overwhelming if you just keep on trying to add layers to sections. I also use rhythmic changes, those are really effective
Dat guitarrrrr!!
axefx are portable, versatile and you can get a lot out of it. a real valve amp is heavy, bigger, looks much cooler and sounds better. in my opinion. you can't beat a valve amp.
working now :D thanks dude :)
while you can still see my comments- I love your vids and your an awesome guy :) keep it up please
I bought an A/B Switcher for when a string snaps, so I can get an instant and silent change between my Guitars. I hope I never have to use it, but it'll be so quick if I need to ^^
Thanks Man
Really helpful video! :-D
thanks man :-)
great video
it was very usefull :) thank you!
Hey man, loving the tunes in the intro and throughout the video. What are they? And any chance we can listen to them?
ROCK ON
cheers man :-)
Bea you are amasing ! What was the song at the beggining?
NICE!
Great video Bea, very useful. I'm about to start my adventure with my mate playing bass and me playing guitar and singing (metalcore) with pre-recorded drums, dyou have any specific tips?
Thanks m8!
Bea great message man... helped a struggling musician such as myself... but also just curious haha what's the backing track you were using for this video?
Rabea. Unopened. How long does orange juice stay good in the fridge for?
Great and inspiring video. Also, how much does Rob input into riff writing?
its still processing so it only works on a low quality
Worth a try. :)
awesome new silverback proto in the back
Very helpful :D
BEEEEER!!!!
can you please do a video on your life so far like how you got into dorje and everything?
Was there ever a part 2 to this?
You can use Velcro tape stick it to whatever you have and the bottom of your pedals. I'm guessing that's what he's using :)
Hi man, great video! Where did you get your daisy chain adapter from. I need to power just 2 9V pedals like you :)
Bea this is a very good and useful video for just about everyone who plays an instrument but i have a question that hopefully you will be able to answer for me. I have a peavey vypyr 30 and use the sanpera ii footswitch but recently i wanted to change to have just effects i could use straight away but from what i have currently read online because my amp is a modelling amp with an analog input i can't use distortion pedals for my distorted tone outside the amp. Is that true?
hey amn, i'm reffering to the stresses of relationships within the band. we all know how we sometimes fall out with someone in the band every now and again
Wow very smart / what pedalboard should I use ? Use what you need ! Thank you
can you talk about getting gigs and making connections with people? Also, I'm deciding to go to music school, do you think it is worth the time/money?
yes i would, because they're affordable and good :-)
I can not consetrate man the music in the backround is awesome...
Bea. I'm looking at getting a Möbius and a TL. I've been saving a while and I'm almost there. Which one do you think I should get first?
Hey man, really digg that tune that goes in the background, whats it called?
Cheers!
When's part 2 coming out man?
