The insurance bill is one I really hate. It's a lot of money and rarely needed. You don't even want to need it. Getting towed cost $450 though, so I guess it paid off this time around. The last few winters hasn't been good for plowing snow or ski hills. Hang in there!

So, a few times if a black cat crossed my path, I would head to a casino to test the theory. So far, it holds true. Don't happen very often though lol. Never had the guts to really test it with a bunch of money, just 5s and 10s. But my parents held to the $50 bill superstition. My dad wouldn't accept one as pay for a job done.

Wife, Vicki, and our almost 15 year old Schnauzer, Maggie, have been fearsome lonely since Lucy the Wonder Dog and Sissy the Bounding Tigger Dog passed. Vicki's been lookin' at the pictures of the pooches at the pounds and changin' screen real quick like she was watchin' porn or something. Couldn't figure what ta git her for Christmas, so when I got the bandages off at the Doc on Thurs, I said, in a fit of stupidity, "let's us go to the pound and lookit critters". Vick near snapped my neck turnin' the car that away! So, the latest addition to the Walton outfit is a two month old absolute force of nature, female Black Lab pup named Dolly. Dilly Dolly. Piccadilly Lilly Dilly Dolly fer short. Geeze, Louise, wutinell wuz I thinkin? Well, besides her new house, that pup has put a grin on Vic's face that ya couldn't get off with a chisel! I guess I done good after all. BTW, 20/20 restored to the right eye, left still clearing from the point that I couldn't use iron sights of any kind. Worked good, lasts a long time, won't rust, bust, nor collect dust! Have a good one!

Superstitions are weird. As a kid, I never "stepped on a crack" when walking on a sidewalk (I didn't want to "break my mother's back"). In the 1950's and 1960's, all $2 dollar bills had the corner torn off, because they were unlucky- (I suppose tearing the corner off removed the "curse" from them).. in fact, the $2 dollar bill almost disappeared until recently. (you can still get them from the bank.) The poker hand Wild Bill Hickok had when he was shot made every card player since dread the old "Dead Man's Hand" (Aces and Eights). The younger generation associates "Friday The 13th" with the movies by the same name, that scared the crap out of them. 😂
It is strange really. We avoided cracks, didn't walk under ladders changed directions to a different path at the sight of a black cat....all of those things. I always heard the $2 bill was lucky though? I didn't know about the corners either. Very interesting! I don't like the slasher movies much. Too much of that stuff really happens.
I don't really concern myself with it. Pain, suffering and misfortune happen on a daily basis all over the world. Hollywood seems to make a good fortune from it, though. It's their world. I'm just passing through. Sipping my coffee and looking to that Great Day of the Lord. Be well Muskrat.
