Corrections:
1) At 7min40sec Miss GoElectric states that Tesla and KIA dominate the US consumer EV market. Instead of "KIA", she should have said "Hyundai Motor Group" which controls KIA, Genesis, and Hyundai.
2)At 12min15 seconds Miss GoElectric states that Teslas is the only "American company" operating independently in China. Instead she should have said "American automaker".
3) The US depends on foreign oil for transportation. Explainer: www.nasdaq.com/articles/ameri...

Done. Thanks Producer Tim.
Great show. Diesel trucks need to be replaced by clean (preferably BEV) vehicles for many reasons: efficiency, vehicle safety, lower CO2 emissions and also to eliminate the massive particulate pollution that causes so many health problems and deaths.
Those who live and work close to major roadways are subject to vehicle pollution. Like you, we'd prefer zero emissions. It is not the only benefit of an EV transition, but it is one of them. Thanks for commenting! -Producer Tim

Great job, last week was good, it seemed even better this week. I’m glad you are coming out with a paper on the Chinese EV issue. It’s far to big a topic to tackle in your short news segment or deal with in the comments section here. I’d like to see a video focused on it as well.

Ugh, I am so disappointed with Fisker. I put a deposit down on the Ocean a few years ago, but the promised features I cared most about were successively eliminated as the price increased. I got to test drive it during a snowstorm here in Detroit earlier this year - and it was a nice ride - but with the increased uncertainty about their FUTURE and the bankruptcy in their PAST, I asked for (and received) my deposit back. Heavy sigh.
Rivian also removed the best features from its R1T between announcement and production. We barely proceed with the sale after four years with a reservation. Tesla Cybertruck also drastically cut features, specifications, and value compared to the announcement. We proceeded there, too.
It feels like the bait and switch is still alive and well in automotive.
Thank you for sharing your story.

Fantastic show, thank you for producing this. In future episodes, I’d like to see updates on some of the new charging networks like IONNA and Mercedes’ standalone venture. At least I think they’re standalone. Also, I’ve seen on newsfeeds that Wallbox is very proud of themselves for launching a new product in the U.S., but as typical I can’t find a list or a timeline or a map showing where and when these will exist.
We will do some Wallbox coverage.
We have covered IONNA on Twitter/X and Instagram. We hope you will follow us there for daily news. This weekly content is highlights.

Wisconsin recently passed the legislation needed to accept and use federal NEVI funds, I think it was the last state to make the needed changes, which is too bad as many are much further ahead. Maybe a story related to NEVI installation progress?
Good idea, we will put it in the queue!
Hmmm… you know I'm not a fan of H2, Laycee: too energy wasteful. Nice to see Nikki in the Porsche segment. Tsk on GM's teaser. As a former mail carrier, I'm glad to see the postal service starting to embrace EV technology. Yes, please do share more on Rivian. As for China, I wonder how much of my Hyundai Ioniq 5 comes from there…? I'll have to go watch your video on Fisker.
In this video, Miss GoElectric said she will leave Hydrogen coverage to others. Like you, we are not a fan of the energy required to produce H2, the membrane life in cells or the dangers of storing and dispensing it. There will be applications for it, but we are in favor of battery electric for consumer applications, which is our primary focus.
We are currently writing the segment about Rivian $RIVN .
Your Hyundai Ioniq5 is made in South Korea and has incorporated battery cells from SK innovation and LG which are also based out of South Korea. They have also used batteries from China's CATL for eGMP vehicles as well.

Of the three at 5:19, I can't decide. I've called my accountant, who recently got a supercomputer with AI, to try to calculate which is the better deal. If it turns out to be the Tesla S Plaid, and I get 2, what should I buy with the extra money left over? 😀
You should use the extra money to buy yourself an eBike or some merchandise at www.missgoelectric.com :)

@@MissGoElectric one suggestion for a future segment would be what is Tesla doing to mitigate charging issues with all the new vehicles and charger cable length. They keep installing v3s with the short cables 😭
Extension adapters are rumored to be in production. We will share updates on that kind of thing via Twitter and Instagram. We post almost daily on those platforms.

California law allows an EV charger to be installed “within an owner's unit or in a designated parking space” or “at a parking space allocated for the lessee.”
There are many additional stipulations related to qualifying a property for that. One out of fifty states is a start. Thank you for commenting. -Producer Tim
I would like to see your perspective on Chinese EVs. There’s *so* much hype around $12,000 cars but not much said about whether the cars would meet the demands of the North American market, especially crash tests and working software. The BYD Seal looks good but is more expensive than the Model 3
The BYD Dolphin, for sale in Mexico is much less expensive than our EVs with a price tag around $10k. We will publish our Chinese EV segment at the Industry channel. I hope you'll subscribe there to be notified when it goes live. www.UA-cam.com/@MissGoElectricIndustry
Thank you for commenting.
-Producer Tim
@@MissGoElectric It would be helpful to easily delineate some of these cars as "City Cars", tiny, low range and capability vehicles, which have always been rejected in the North American Market.
@@shazam6274 I thinking the Aptera would be my perfect commuter car.
@@spafyshaw Perhaps a serious life / disability insurance policy would be a wise investment (if it does not exclude driving in a 4.6 foot tall tricycle in traffic)
We had an order on the original more than a decade ago. It would be great if Aptera makes it to production and survives to scale.
EIA figures for 2022. USA was a net exporter of petroleum 1.19million barrels per day. So how do we rely on expensive foreign oil exactly?
Petroleum is used in paint, plastic, heating, blacktop, and many other applications. Transportation runs on gasoline, diesel fuel, and kerosene. We export grades of oil which we are unable to refine into gasoline. Our link beneath the corrections explains it all.
I'd say the most BEV phobic is Toyota.
They've fought BEVs publicly and privately.
This tells me they think they can't compete in the new BEV vehicle market.
They've been laggards for years. We suspect they were hoping to leap frog with solid state battery technology. Perhaps they are finally ready to act with greater urgency.

5:19 For the same price I take a nice apartment in my city with a garage and a Tesla model 3 AWD in it rather than just the lasted Porsche.
Decisions Decisions
While Henrik Fisker @ 12:30 does not have the initials "P.T."*, perhaps he should consolidate with a kindred spirit: Malcolm Bricklin and get a new place to make cars (Canada and certain European countries are off limits now).
*as in Barnum noted for his Circus and "there's a sucker born every minute"

Tesla Model S Plaid of those 3 but I'd REALLY rather have a Cyberbeast.
Cybertruck is very cool, too. Hopefully we will get ours within one week and then we can share some perspective. Thank you for commenting! -Producer Tim
@@MissGoElectric There is so much youtube coemption on the cyber truck , but whatever you come up with will be better.
We hope our perspective will be unique. Most of the owners are male. Most of the observations and focus are around durability and power. We won't overlap much with the Tesla super fans.
Hopefully our work will live up to your prediction.

Please make an up to date set of charts of who owns who, with "straight talk".
Marketing BS like "Partners" and "Affiliates" should be left out.
Mitsubishi did not "join" Nissan, they were going down because they made a billion dollar mistake in vehicles they supplied to Nissan, so they were essentially "given" to Nissan to settle the debt. Earlier, 51% of Nissan, who was also failing, was purchased by Renault to keep them afloat and get some engineering talent. Since Renault wasn't exactly growing profitably, they were forcibly merged with the Peugeot group by the biggest shareholder of both: the French government. Essentially they are a messy bouillabaisse of marginal car companies, controlled by the French Government, not "partners" and "affiliates" happily joined to celebrate their victorious ascension in the car business.
What was said in this segment is that Nissan and Mitsubishi have an alliance. They share billions of dollars worth of physical and intellectual property. Our wording is careful. We work directly with Nissan frequently. Brands do not usually link up together when they are doing fabulously. Many automotive alliances are born of tumult.
Documentaries about the likes of Carlos Ghosn do a fabulous job of articulating some of the moving parts. Thank you for commenting.
-Producer Tim
@@MissGoElectric I understand. Even a "PR correct" chart would be helpful, perhaps with any percentages if possible. The interlinking and "partnerships" are ever complicated and changing and even hard for "insiders" to keep up with.
Thanks for the responses, much appreciated. Hope the separate comments help with the YT algorithm.
P.S. I used to work with Nissan on several OEM Infotainment programs.
Thank you for this explanation.
I hope the fake noises are only *inside* the cars. Or what will we get next, fake exhausts with smoke machines ? Motors to simulate some vibrations ? Software simulating mechanic breakdowns with the need to go to the dealer and pay to have the car working again ?
The fake noise is outside and inside.
There is an audience for everything ;)

Tarrifs are also to protect from dependence on unfriendly foreign governments
There are many motivations for rules which stifle free markets, and many unintended consequences. Thank you for commenting. -Producer Tim
Chinese auto companies are highly subsidized by the Chinese government. How do you then balance out that advantage over the car companies in the free world!
Our auto companies are also subsidized by our government to the tube of hundreds of billions of dollars. -Producer Tim
Product dumping
So you’re against government propping up EV manufacturers however that’s exactly what China has done with with theirs. So when a manufacturer from that country can deliver a product because it’s been subsidized at below the material cost of the components alone, I’m not sure how that is going to be out “innovated.” They are buying EV dominance and if you don’t agree, I look forward to a special presented by you proving that it’s not that at all. That it is a laser level playing field. 15:04
The US Government has propped up our automakers with taxpayer subsidies and bailouts for decades. Now that China is doing it, we are up in arms. We are up in arms because they are producing superior products more efficiently than our big 3 possibly can. Even with infinite money it is not clear that US legacy automakers are capable of competing with the Chinese EV value. They've waited too long and the talent has concentrated elsewhere.
The line between what is American or Chinese is blurry. The big players in automotive are intertwined. Companies like Polestar, Mercedes Benz, and Volvo have significant Chinese ownership. They sell and manufacture here. Companies like BYD, Tesla, Ford, and GM are significantly American owned but sell and manufacture in China.
We'd prefer free market capitalism in which the consumer picks winners from a level playing field of competitors. Unfortunately, that ship sailed before we were born. -Producer Tim
@@MissGoElectric I love Ford because they didn’t take a dime of bailout because they had already made the hard decisions. I didn’t buy their EV because Hyundai had a superior product. If their SUV had the thermal capacity of their truck and charge like my IONIQ 5 it would be acceptable. Haven’t considered a 🇨🇳 EV for the same reason I wouldn’t have purchased a 🇩🇪 vehicle leading in to the last world war. We can keep the EV at the center on this isolated discussion like it exists in a bubble laying aside things “before we were born”. I’ll even lay aside all issues 🇨🇳 has: So how about a video that compares the money in amount and percentage of the OEM’s money spent on EV’s development and manufacturing. No need to go back multiple decades because EV’s haven’t been around that long for this discussion. If the capital spend by each government to each their own countries based EV OEM’s is the same: then we can call that field level. Maybe I misunderstood the discussion of future videos spoken of in this video. If so, disregard and have a pleasant day.
Ford had already leveraged the blue oval with private equity when the TARP program launched. That said, Ford has directly benefited from billions of dollars in corporate welfare. Like GM and Stellantis, Ford spends a lot of money lobbying for favorable legislation including protectionist policies.
A video which hails "money spent" as a viable metric to progress or intent would not be beneficial. Brands like Tesla achieve orders of magnitude more progress per "dollar spent" than laggard players in the space. Additionally, the tracking of local/state/federal/international subsidies is nearly impossible due to the enormous network of tendrils each organization controls.
That said, we'll continue to share information and perspective related to policy, business, technology, and products affecting electrification. We appreciate the engagement from our viewers.
Thanks for commenting!
-Producer Tim
@@MissGoElectric since it is “impossible“ to track then further discussions, regardless of who does what, is a moot point when it comes to who succeeded or don’t succeed in whatever market they are attempted to be sold in. Not sure why its is a topic in the first place then but that’s OK.🤷🏻 I’m good with no video of such a difficult subject to enumerate.👍🏼
Our point is that mighty governments are investors in the global automotive business. It may be gross but it is true.
Let's end the protectionist policies and open up the global marketplace. The best products will become dominant and the consumer will win.
-Producer Tim
I'd want the Porsche. Fake noise booo
We live in charmed times! Thank you for commenting! -Producer Tim
Porsche has the fake muffler sounds in addition to a mythical Turbo and of course the almighty 2 speed shifter box! 😂
@@MissGoElectric I hate noise pollution because it imposes unnecessary pollution for the sake of annoying other people , fake sounds don't really make you powerful?
How about China trying to squash competition inside their borders, maybe you can talk about that next time.
The Chinese New Energy initiative has resulted in literally hundreds of EV companies forming there. The competition is fruitful and intentionally unsustainable. The vast majority of those companies must fail.
Our expertise is the US market and we will stay close to what we understand. Our coverage of Chinese EVs will primarily be centered around effects on the US market. -Producer Tim
So the Chinese government incentivizes the production of EV’s which creates competition. So are you saying government incentives are good because they created competition that was “fruitful”? Laycee says propping up companies that produce inferior products is bad. Are you saying that the Chinese government is not squashing competition? I’m confused.
Inside China is one topic. Chinese exports to USA are another topic. Our countries were born of differing economic philosophies.
When it comes to the USA, we believe that government propping up laggard automakers is a short term fix with long term calamity attached. We are not in favor of protectionism. -Producer Tim@@Molishious
Problem with Ola is that Chinese quality sucks

The concern with Chinese cars in Europe is not about competition. It’s about the Chinese government subsidizing those car makers.
