Hi, Mackenzie Lane! I'm a filipino. I really like your book channel. You give me a reason to love and read more books. I wish I can buy some of your books. May God bless you to all your good works. 💛
All the Light We Cannot See is so good! You might also like The Nightingale if you haven't read it already. The Sun is also a Star has been on my TBR for a while. I added a couple more to it from your list. :)
Yay! Yeah, I have a hard time finding books that include Nazis that aren't too much for me, but I was able to handled those two alright, and they're such good stories! Sarah's Key is another good one.
I literally was watching the whole video thinking how much of a folklore/evermore person you are and I was thinking of recommending it in the comments, and while I was doing that you mentioned folklore. I'm telling you I literally choked :). BTW I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL SO MUCH
Happy New Year, Mackenzie! It sounds like you had a good reading year. I'm glad the Christian books helped you to a better place. Sense and Sensibility was a good book. I haven't read Emma yet.
I think I'm going with Emma, and then Sense & Sensibility after that! A friend of mine bought me a bind-up of 4 of Jane Austen's novels, and both of those stories are in it!
You forgot to mention your top 5... oh never mind 😂 Queen of Nothing was also one of my favourite books in 2020, I can’t wait to read How The King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories! I also read my first Jane Austen novel last year, which was Emma! I recommend you watch the 2020 film adaptation after you finish the book!
I love that you are displaying your faith! I’ve really been wanting to read Winterhouse but my dog ate my copy 😂 Wow it’s sounds even weirded typing it. 😂😂😂
Oh no, that's awful! Artie would rue the day he decided to chew on any of my books lol! Thankfully he's way too short & uninterested. All he does is sniff them :P
Girl I was just casually watching your video and you freaking mentioned Midway Mall. I live in the town over. Sherman’s rival. I was like wait wait what did she just say!? So crazy!!c
All the Light We Cannot See was one of my favorites this year!! It is such a beautiful story😭❤️ It makes me so happy that you loved Pride and Prejudice!! That is my fave Austen, but my next faves are Northanger Abbey and Emma, so I definitely recommend reading one of those next! And I’ve been meaning to read I’d Rather Be Reading, so I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it- I love Anne Bogel’s podcast What Should I Read Next but I haven’t picked up any of her books yet!
I think I'm going with Emma next! I just found out a couple weeks ago that 'Clueless' is a modern-day retelling of Emma, so I'm very curious to see the similarities/differences between the two! & funnily enough, I've never listened to Anne Bogel's podcast, but I do keep up with her online blog! Her writing was so warm & inviting, so I'll definitely make a point to listen soon :)
Oh, wow, it must be really good then! I've never read a book more than three times & it's unfortunately Twilight lol (7th grade me was mildly obsessed :/)
im so happy to find your channel! im a Christian who also loves to read:) you NEED to read the masters wall by sandi rog! its a love story, but also beautiful, and God moved me through it!
Have you read “ you’re not enough and that’s okay” by Allie Beth stuckie? If “the City of Veils” didn’t have magic, what made it a fantasy? Ooh- I read “ it’s not supposed to be this way” in Dec and loved it too!! Big question: which one do you like more, P&P or Little Women?
No, but I've heard of that book! Have you read it? I think the fantasy in The City of Veils was that it was set in a made-up world/kingdom! Other than that, the characters used common everyday vernacular, which was very jarring since it's supposed to be another world entirely! It's gotta be Little Women, but Pride & Prejudice comes so stinkin' close! What's funny is I actually edited out a long clip of me debating which classic now has the top spot - but I think I relate to Jo's story just a teensy bit more than I do to Elizabeth's!
I have It's Not Suppose to be This Way on my shelf, but I haven't read it yet. I love Lysa Terkurst. My goal this year is to read the physical books on my shelves!! So hopefully I'll get to this one soon.
Have you ever read this book called It's Not Fair? It's a Christian self help book about learning to accept the tragedies that life throws at you. I was surprised as someone who is not Christian that I connected with it so much.
Yesssssss totally agree with you on Six of Crows I really wish the characters were aged up!!! Hoping that the Netflix adaptation does a good job of aging it up as well so it doesn't feel like a cheap tween CW show hahahaha.
You should have gone into reading Tuesdays with Morrie knowing that the author and the main subject are not Christian. They are both Jewish, wither culturally or religious.
One of my new fav booktubers love the mixture of Christian and more booktubey known reads!
"Yup, that's my flip through!" Haha, that totally made me laugh!
Gotta keep it real !

Thanks so much, you're very kind :)
Loved this! ❤️ im not a christian but i love hearing you talk about your faith and beliefs :)
All the Light We Cannot See is so good! You might also like The Nightingale if you haven't read it already.
The Sun is also a Star has been on my TBR for a while. I added a couple more to it from your list. :)
I adored "The Nightingale"! It's, like, the only book review video I have on my channel, I loved it that much! Haha
Yay! Yeah, I have a hard time finding books that include Nazis that aren't too much for me, but I was able to handled those two alright, and they're such good stories! Sarah's Key is another good one.
Just seen on Goodreads about your possible Christian Book Club. Am interested in seeing what books you choose.
Welcome back! Nice to see you again)
really enjoyed watching this video! ❤️ can’t wait to start reading some of your top 5 books!
I literally was watching the whole video thinking how much of a folklore/evermore person you are and I was thinking of recommending it in the comments, and while I was doing that you mentioned folklore. I'm telling you I literally choked :). BTW I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL SO MUCH
"Emma" is definitely my favorite Jane Austen's book! I recommend it 100% ✌🏻😊
An iconic bujo flip through honestly

Love your videos! As a Jane Austen huge fan, I'm sure you won't be disappointed with any of her books! I would recommend Persuasion! ;)
Thank you!!

Didn't even know there was an adaptation for 'Emma' that came out last year! Will for sure watch it once I read it!

No way, that's wild! Are you talking about Denison? I've lived in both towns at different times in my life oddly enough!
@@MackenzieLane yes! The mall is pretty deserted now with only really a Dillards and Bath and Body Works:/
All the Light We Cannot See was one of my favorites this year!! It is such a beautiful story😭❤️

Hi Mackenzie! Where is your hanging bookshelf from?? I absolutely love it 😍
Hobby Lobby!
Read Sense and Sensibility! It’s my favorite Austen and I’ve read it four times. Actually, it’s time for a reread!
Oh, wow, it must be really good then! I've never read a book more than three times & it's unfortunately Twilight lol (7th grade me was mildly obsessed :/)
All the light we cannot see became my favorite book of all time! Sooooo good and powerful!
im so happy to find your channel! im a Christian who also loves to read:) you NEED to read the masters wall by sandi rog! its a love story, but also beautiful, and God moved me through it!

That's a personal goal of mine, too! I have soooo many unread books on my shelves & really need to curb my semi-frequent book buying :/
I also read it’s not supposed to be that way as well, and another book she wrote, called Uninvited. They were both SO good!
Have you ever read this book called It's Not Fair? It's a Christian self help book about learning to accept the tragedies that life throws at you. I was surprised as someone who is not Christian that I connected with it so much.
No, but I'll have to look it up, thank you! Sounds very apt for me haha :P
I wish I could be like you. Someday I will run my own booktube channel and it will be so much fun. lol
Yesssssss totally agree with you on Six of Crows I really wish the characters were aged up!!! Hoping that the Netflix adaptation does a good job of aging it up as well so it doesn't feel like a cheap tween CW show hahahaha.
I know, I'm very interested in watching it! Fingers crossed !
i love love your christian non-fiction recs (-':
Aw yay, that makes me happy :)
Gah I’ve wanted to read the sun is also a star for so long now!
It’s pretty good. The characters are very well written☺️
Wow. Great
