Of course, I actually have been wanting to share my entire collection of Christian books because I haven’t read that many as of yet 🙂 Hahah but I did recently read one called Flourish by Lydia Brownback that was sooo good!
the more i watch your videos, the longer my TBR list gets! keep up your videos - i can’t get enough of them! you have such a great personality and voice for youtube!!
Been subscribed for a while now! It’s amazing to see videos about book reviews and recommendations! I myself have been thinking about starting a UA-cam channel all about books! :) but I still have to focus on my studies and on school (I’m 15), but after I do hope I can start a UA-cam Channel! You’re my inspiration 💞
Anyone can start a channel at any time, so don't feel rushed or anything! But it is quite fun getting to talk about books and share my thoughts about them with other people! & thank you! You're so sweet :)
I've been compiling a list to search for at my local independent bookstore when it's open again. I'm lucky I have books I haven't read yet sitting on my shelves, compulsory buying and hoarding of books pays off sometimes. :D
Great job with this! You got some terrific books too. I just bought the Sarah J Maas book and it sounds great. Such a Fun Age was great as well. Glad you are staying safe! Happy reading. 😎 Sorry you’ve been down recently. I think for me that going outside and reading while enjoying a little sun and listening to the birds has helped. This is a challenging time but just think about the bigger picture and when you look back on it at some point, it will seem like a blip rather than a huge thing. So glad you are encouraging the independent bookstores also. Our’s is open for curbside pickup as well so I’ve tried to buy something from them almost weekly to keep them open. Take care and reach out if you are depressed or anxious, there’s a lot of that going around. You aren’t alone. ❤️🙏🏼❤️
I’ve definitely been praying this lock-down ends soon, but I’ve been trying everyday to find at least one positive thing that could come out of this time of social distancing! (It’s usually that I’m getting to read all day 😂) Thank you for the encouragement ❤️
American Royal was really great ! I didn't expect it to be actually, but I loved it. The characters were really interesting, and the love story was great ! I'm waiting for the second one to be translated in French !
Ok... So since I watched this video, I have hooked on the Currently Reading podcast and alsó I am clicking the buy now button on Amazon like it's nobody's business.... :)
Thank you for this video, I love getting your recommendations! We’re in week 4 of our lockdown in the uk now and I’m a Support worker for the elderly so it’s tough going, reading and book tube is a very welcome escape! Stay safe ❤️
LOL your intro. 😂 Love how we’re January birthday buddies! ♥️ You need to read The Near Witch since you love VE Schwab! It’s one of my favorites! Definitely going to be picking up those Bibliophile & Beholding & Becoming books ASAP! CAN WE PLEASE BUDDY READ BEACH READ?! I got that one too and I’m dying to get to it! I could not get into Neverwhere. 🙈 It was way over my head! Hope you’re doing well! ♥️
I know, I'm hoping to read all of V.E. Schwab's books one day! Lol And yes, let's buddy read it!! I'd love that, just let me know when you're ready to pick it up :)
Long bright river sounds really good. I love reading about dark things like addiction and lifestyles. My only brother died of a heroin overdose in 2009, so maybe I like the psychology of it? But I feel you there. I’m adding it to my list! Thanks
Neil Gaiman is one of my favorite authors! Neverwhere is definitely a little weird - it reminds me of Stranger Things. If you like A Darker Shade of Magic, I think you'll enjoy it. :)
I know this is late by a lot but since you like books about sisters I recommend the sister pact it focuses on two sister one who committed suicide and the other trying to figure out why.🥰
i’ve been contemplating getting a book of the month subscription for months now, and your video totally convinced me to go full send and begin my subscription
They do always have some kind of promotion for new subscribers, so that's nice! But the option to skip a month if none of the options interest you is so cool to me because the credit just rolls over to the next month! Lol I also love getting that little blue box in the mail :P
Thanks for another great video, Mackenzie. I'm sorry about your NYC trip and what you've been going through the past few days. You're a strong, positive person and you have this online community you've created, to lean on. If you need anything, we're always here for you. Long Bright River and The Current sound very interesting. The 9/11 Oral History is an haunting and excellent book.
Thanks so much, that’s very kind of you to say ☺️ & I’m just now realizing by the summary of The Current that it probably could’ve been titled Long Bright River, too! 🤣
I read "You Are not Alone" and it was such a good read! I loved the plot twists, obviously a 5 star read for me. "The two lives of Lydia Bird" was a four star read for me. It was a heartbreaking read. I have the ebook of "Crescent City: House of earth and blood" and I can't wait to read it once I finish my current tbr pile. You should definitely read "A good girl's guide to murder"! I was still thinking about that book for days after I finished. The author has a sequel to that book as well. I've already pre- ordered it lol
I live in a really tourist town in Florida, so I'm lucky that I have a mix of chain and independent bookstores! I'm really missing walking into them right now
I picked up Truly DEvious recently and I am excited to finally read the series. It seems really fun! I also need to pick up the rest of the Shades of Magic series. I loved book 1 and I can't wait to read the next 2.
I know EXACTLY which black mirror episode you're talking about hahahah that's the episode my friend told me about in order to get me to watch the show in the first place loll
Beholding and Becoming looks like such a pretty book and so does Bibliophile! If you are into book podcasts you should check out Books Unbound, I highly recommend! Oh I also highly highly recommend The Bookish Life of Nina Hill, it was so great!!
I think book hauls are interactive ways to do some sort of window book shopping. 👍📚 Since you love reading about books about sisters, do you also enjoy reading books about father & daughter? I would love to read more books about bookworms! 👍📚 Yay I discovered a new author, Diana Biller. 🙌
Yes, I just love an interesting family dynamic! I used to read strictly YA & most of those books have the parents killed off or horrible/careless parents, but I’m slowly discovering good family-oriented reads! I love that phrase, interactive book window shopping💛
Have you read the book/seen the movie Beautiful Boy? About a young adult who suffers from addiction. Beautiful Boy is from the perspective of the father, but the son also wrote his own memoir called Tweak. I would definitely recommend those if you're looking for more reading material. The movie is also very good. Reading Tweak is very poignant in its own right, but even more so because the author suffered another relapse during his release of that memoir.
I did watch Beautiful Boy, but I haven’t read any of the memoirs! I did see Tweak at my local bookstore recently though & it’s making me want to temporarily break my book buying ban 🤷🏼♀️ I watched the movie early last year, and I think it might’ve been the catalyst for my interest in stories about addiction! (I also had a slight obsession with the Go-Go’s when I was 11 & when I found out they were all on drugs my life was forever changed!)
A heartwarming adventure inspired by Alice in Wonderland and Studio Ghibli: Lacie is a college freshmen who is struggling with depression and anxiety. She mostly keeps to herself and feels alone. Until she falls asleep in an empty classroom and wakes up in a totally different place, in a city of monsters, lunatics, and gravity-defying donuts that is trapped in perpetual night, and threatens to tear her mind apart if it doesn't kill her first. Getting out won't be easy. But the answer Lacie seeks may lie with "my dear Uncle Herbert" in a massive and mysterious department store known as All-Mart. www.amazon.com/dp/B01C66C8X2
Hi Mackenzie, I'm still unable to buy books because of closed borders. I see in your haul some books I 've read, some I own and some I'd love to buy but can't. When will you post the poll for the book club? 🤗
id love to see a video all about Christian books you recommend. it blesses me how open you are about your faith! well done, my sister!
Of course, I actually have been wanting to share my entire collection of Christian books because I haven’t read that many as of yet 🙂
Hahah but I did recently read one called Flourish by Lydia Brownback that was sooo good!
I found her because I was looking for a Christian who did booktube videos. So refreshing to find someone like minded.
the more i watch your videos, the longer my TBR list gets! keep up your videos - i can’t get enough of them! you have such a great personality and voice for youtube!!
Oh wow, thank you very much! 💕
Book hauls are so fun! They give you a peek into that reader’s taste, interest & personality! I love ‘em!
I agree, I love watching them! But they can also make me want to break my book buying ban a lot so I have to be careful 🤣
Mackenzie Lane hee hee, that’s fair!
I can’t speak for others of course, but I love book hauls! It’s so much fun to see what others are buying and loving during all of this. :)

Haha I've been thinking the same thing!
I've been looking for more channels to subscribe to and found this gem. Love your whole setup and the video.
Thank you! :)

Happy late birthday then! & thank you! 🥰

Oh my, I can’t even imagine the stress of your job right now! But I’m more than happy to be your temporary form of escape ☺️
Stay safe over there 💙
I loved the Bibliophile book! I can't wait to read Beach Read! Nina Hill was pretty good.
Oh, that's good to hear!
I’m praying for you girl! And I love your channel thank you for sharing how your feeling I appreciate it :) have hope girl :) he’s got us :)
Thanks, lovely!
I love book hauls so much as they contain so many different genres and I can get different point of views on books I have already seen
LOL your intro. 😂

I know exactly the Black Mirror episode you’re talking about, so sad! I just read Beach Read and loved it!!
Oh good, I have SUCH high hopes for Beach Read :)
I like book haul videos because I am not on Goodreads much and it gives me new book ideas to check out.
Long bright river sounds really good. I love reading about dark things like addiction and lifestyles. My only brother died of a heroin overdose in 2009, so maybe I like the psychology of it? But I feel you there. I’m adding it to my list! Thanks
Ooo I have an arc of oasis! It sounds so interesting!
So many good books!! I especially looooved Beach Read.
I am so excited for it & really hope it’ll live up to all the expectations I’m placing on it 🤪
Neil Gaiman is one of my favorite authors! Neverwhere is definitely a little weird - it reminds me of Stranger Things. If you like A Darker Shade of Magic, I think you'll enjoy it. :)
Whatttttt I freakin’ love Stranger Things! Frick now I want to pick that book up but my mom’s reading it 🤣
I know this is late by a lot but since you like books about sisters I recommend the sister pact it focuses on two sister one who committed suicide and the other trying to figure out why.🥰

Oh good, I love a book that sticks around days after you finish it!
I picked up I Have No Secrets from target but I haven’t read it yet. I read Lydia Bird, it was pretty good.
I live in a really tourist town in Florida, so I'm lucky that I have a mix of chain and independent bookstores! I'm really missing walking into them right now
I miss hanging out at all of my close bookstores, too! It was akin to a weekly therapy session for me honestly 😅
I picked up Truly DEvious recently and I am excited to finally read the series. It seems really fun! I also need to pick up the rest of the Shades of Magic series. I loved book 1 and I can't wait to read the next 2.
Hope you love Truly Devious!!
Your eyes! ❤️
I know EXACTLY which black mirror episode you're talking about hahahah that's the episode my friend told me about in order to get me to watch the show in the first place loll
There are definitely some episodes of that show I wish I’d never seen, but i truly love some of the others and the way they made me think!
Beholding and Becoming looks like such a pretty book and so does Bibliophile! If you are into book podcasts you should check out Books Unbound, I highly recommend! Oh I also highly highly recommend The Bookish Life of Nina Hill, it was so great!!
Oh yay, I love hearing about bookish podcasts! Not like I need much tempting to purchase any new books or anything 😅
The Bibliophile book looks really cool.
If you like books about siblings, you should check out Before We Were Yours if you haven’t all ready!
I've actually had that book recommended to me by a few of my co-workers, so it's definitely made it onto my tbr!
Mackenzie Lane it’s heartbreaking but so beautiful 😊
I think book hauls are interactive ways to do some sort of window book shopping. 👍📚

Hi Mackenzie! Where did you get the lighted garland for your headboard? It's lovely.
Rhonda Nelson it’s actually a string of lights and a separate flower garland sort of resting on top! But they were both from target!
Mackenzie Lane Thanks! You have a good eye. ☺️
Rhonda Nelson why thank you 😊

I'm reading the Current right now because of Meredith!
Her influence!! Lol 🤣
@MackenzieLane Book hauls matter and ARE valuable because YOU collected them :) That's what makes them unique - you collected them!
Hi Mackenzie, I'm still unable to buy books because of closed borders. I see in your haul some books I 've read, some I own and some I'd love to buy but can't. When will you post the poll for the book club? 🤗
I’ll have the poll up next weekend, the 24-26!
@@MackenzieLane hope that wins a book i own already. Read or unread, so i can participate again. 🤗
And I love Nel Gaiman but I wouldn't recommend you start with Neverwhere
I also own his middle-grade novel The Graveyard Book! Would that one be better to start with?
🙏stay safe and read, kisses from Portugal 🇵🇹
😘
Oehhh i loved the good girls guide to murder. Just so much fun❤❤
Have you read the O’Malley series from Dee Henderson???
Haven’t even heard of that series, I don’t think! But I’ll go look it up 😊
Great video....
I want to borrow the 9/11 book 🙏
Mmmkay then
My I ask why are your 2 front teeth different colors , no hate tho I love your UA-cam
They're calcium deposits! I've been considering getting them filled, but I'm really not bothered by them like I used to be!
