No this 1 litre is a turbo charged engine. Power & Pickup are much stronger than the ones you mentioned, those cars have a Naturally aspirated engine, which will give you higher Fuel Economy but less power, so more gear shifts and slower acceleration

It's so surprising that the same auto journalists who called the 1.2L K-series engine the best naturally aspirated engine for enthusiasts a few years back are now calling it underpowered and lacks performance. What an irony!!!
You have to consider the application of that engine. It's fun, don't get us wrong, but in a light hatchback. It feels underpowered in a heavy SUV. Especially when you compare it against the 1.0-litre boosterjet.

I remember that the first generation Swift and Ritz weren't light hatchbacks and were as heavy as Fronx. Nobody said those cars were underpowered with their 85bhp K-Series engine back then. Also that engine got a lot of praise for its performance. Maybe it's not the engine that is underpowered. I think it's our expectations as time changes. Especially after these downsized turbo petrols came into existence.
@Anoop Prasad emission reduction technologies might also have sapped out a lot of the power available from these drivetrains. Additionally, as you mentioned, our expectations have also probably increased from those times when we mostly had underpowered smaller cars due to most of us being unable to afford the higher running costs.

Drove this car.. Braking seriously needs to be improved.. drum brakes at the rear makes the car wobble during sudden braking at speeds 140+.. Hope suzuki improves the braking
Still as initial Baleno we have the Steering issues.... No Auto Return, every dealer say it's a feature but it's bug, for a shorter turn radius it's very difficult to pull back like a manual steering too hard....

my 23 years old fiat uno does the same off roading even better than this but that dosent mean to declare it a suv. even try it with an alto and can be seen same off-roading capabilities. Nothing ironic. It’s still the best NA engine in its class, and it still feels underpowered compared to the turbo engines
