For people aspiring to buy a luxury car in India just know that over half of the costs are taxes by the Central Government. Build a business and own the car in that business name and buy a new luxury car and depreciate it in the first 4 years and save your taxes 😊

The most disconcerting thing about owning a luxury car in India is the high levels of stress one has to put up with on account of our bad roads and our dense and horrible driving habits. You or your driver may be very good; but when your car is surrounded by so many idiotic drivers, there's a very high chance of getting scratches and dents. In most of the rest of the world, you can find 10-yr old cars with not a single scratch; but in this cursed country, a brand new car will be lucky to go 3 months before getting its first nick/scratch/dent. India will never be safe for luxury cars. Most of the luxury car owners get up in the wee hours of the morning (like 3am) just so that they can enjoy a thrill ride before the city wakes up.

I'll tell you the real reason why this real estate guy purchases pre-owned luxury car because of black money. When you buy a new car no brand showroom will take majority of cash. They only take cheque or online payments but black money owned folks don't have much money in their banks so they mostly put money in things where cash is the mode of transaction be it real estate, gold or in this case pre-owned cars.

Real estate in India is the easiest way to turn your white money into black money. Also, due to this black money property prices are always inflated in India and a person without black money can never make significant returns from real estate in India

Always check these things before buying vehicle .
    - basic service cost .
    - mileage
    - availability of spare parts
    - cost of spare parts
    - tyre cost
    - insurance cost
    - more ownership reviews in UA-cam or friends who own the car
    - paint job cost if required.
Anyone can save money and buy a vehicle but most people sell it within 2 years because they can’t maintain it.
If you need car , best buy in more common brands where more service centres are available and spare parts can be bought easily at cheap price .

    I have a BMW X1 2019.
My per service cost is only 16 K
I use MANN Original filters, Mobil oil its just that I service it from a private garage, i have driven it around 80 K now and have replaced all suspensions Rubber parts (ALL ORIGINAL) Purchased from BMW and have only spent hardly 2.5 Lakh in 3.5 years which is nothing!! Its just you should know where and what part is to be replaced and which oil and filters does these german car makers use, because they themselves buy it from a OEM its just that how much knowledge do u have about a car. Everything is cheaper and affordable.

Man if you want a luxury car, 99.9% reason is to have it as a status symbol. Then just ignore any kind of recurring expenses. Just go for the flagship luxury car. Forget Money as the very motive of a luxury car itself is show off of wealth & status. BUT,.. if these recurring expenses are putting your smile off now then just go for a Toyota or Honda Car that checks all the boxes. Then have a hassle free 15 years of driving. And even then you will get a good resale after 3 lakh+ Kms of running on odometer, if you decide to change your car. Infact, I have seen few Toyota Innovas & Honda citys running seamlessly even after 5 lakh Kms. Absolutely No Issues. 👍

In India its not a good idea to buy a luxury car, instead buy a Indian car like xuv700 or Safari and use the remaining money for travelling. Taxes paid for laxuary car are not worth considering our roads. This is for average buyers not for very rich people 😅

I feel having cars below 15L is better coz I feel easy while driving it. I owned BMW 5 series prior COVID, it made me too cautious and sensitive to drive and park it around the city. So, I feel your car budget should not cross 3%-4% of your worth. Plus having a parking space at home is compulsory if you are planning to get one. Otherwise use Ola-Uber. Thats better. In the nutshell, car should not ride you but vice versa.😅

I would rather have kids and buy a luxury car in 10 or 15 years or work more to decrease that time to 5-10 years.I mean sorry if I hurt anyone in comments but that’s just doesn’t make sense to me.🙏🏾

I think this trend of not having kids will get more and more traction as having kids in this era is extremely expensive and also given the daunting task of raising a child with good values amid the increasingly negative environment which could be mostly attributable to social media

It costed us upwards of 5 lakhs to replace the whole automatic transmission with mechatronics in my VW Ameo, thankfully it was all covered in warranty as the car was less than a year old, had it been longer we would have been completely doomed, even though Ameo is an entry level sedan. The hidden cost that might come up when using a luxury car is always a suspense
