- We finally got the opportunity to drive Maruti Suzuki Fronx - a crossover based on Baleno. Though the company is marketing it as an SUV, we disagree. In this video, we also tell you if it's any fun-to-drive as Maruti Suzuki is promoting it. It'll be launched later this month and will be sold via Nexa dealerships. While the 1.2-litre engine is the same as the Baleno, it now gets the 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbocharged engine that we saw in the Baleno RS. Prices of the vehicle aren't out yet, we expect it be priced between Rs 7.20 lacs - Rs 11.9 lacs (Ex-showroom)

Now, I own a Fronx Alpha Automatic with Boosterjet Turbo engine. Car definitely has no competition. Fronx Turbo use the most powerful engine, produced by Maruti. Bumper to bumper average is around 12, city drive average is around 14, driving in city on wide congestion free roads, average is around 17 to 18. I have yet to drive on highways to see the average, but it should be around 20, i Believe. Driving is unbelievably great. Cabin is silent and car is very stable.
I have taken test ride of many cars, including XL-6 with Torque Converter, I-20 N line and Venue with DCT, Baleno and Dzire with AGS, Fronx Alpha MT and Fronx Alpha Automatic with Torque Converter. All the cars were driven with AC and 4 occupants in city traffic as well as on wide roads in city with least traffic. Fronx Alpha engine is the most powerful as well as most fuel efficient. Venue engine despite tall claims, gave poor show. Venue and I-20 gave 9 to 11 average whereas Fronx AT gave 16 + average in city and 19 + average on traffic free city roads. It is a wrong observation by the host that Fronx is least fuel efficient. Fronx has a powerful Turbo engine as well as is extremely fuel-efficient. Overtaking was a simple and even at 1400 RPM, the engine was very supportive and responsive. The driving experience of Fronx was also superior.
*If it's value for money model comes around 8 lakhs then it will soon be the market leader* I saw this car at the auto expo and believe me it looks beautiful❤

1.0 Turbo is good but , Maruti should think about to pair 1.2 engine with a Turbo , if they do it they can use it at cars like Brezza , It will be reduce Brezza's price by cutting additional taxes on Brezza and Brezza's performance will go up by a huge number .
And they can use it on their performance models like Baleno RS (fronx) , Swift Sport .......
Actually we should get a extremely smooth and refined 4 cylinder turbo petrol engine for smaller cars , I'm bored of those 3 cylinder turbo petrols 😮💨
4 cylinder turbo engine manufacturing costs will be higher than the taxes on 1500 cc and above engines.
The 4 cylinder turbocharger will give single digit FE bro.

Its a Crossover or HatchCoupe Styling. But would say it looks better than Baleno.

Fronx Alpha use the most powerful engine ever used by a Maruti built car. Fronx Alpha automatic is an amazing car. I have been using this car for last 6 months. Even Grand Vitara, Brezza, Ertiga and XL 6 do not have such a powerful engine. Fronx has great pickup and capacity to overtake other cars. It has Torque Converter (used by 95 % cars in USA) to handle automatic functions. the average of this car is unmatched. It is solidly built and has virtually no body roll.
It's not in competition with venue, it's in competition with punch and is way better in Terms of design performance
Its competition is not with punch..punch base model ex showroom price is even less than Baleno..
In terms of price it will costly than punch, so I feel no competition with punch

After enjoying a great car, Dzire ZDI for 11 years, we were looking for a car, which has automatic transmission. we took test ride of many cars, including XL-6 with Torque Converter, I-20 N line and Venue with DCT, Baleno and Dzire with AGS, Fronx Alpha MT and Fronx Alpha Automatic with Torque Converter. We also drove Baleno AGS and Dzire AGS. During test ride, we were accompanied with 2 employees of the showroom. Ac was kept running during thew ride. With overall 4 occupants in city traffic as well as on wide roads in city with least traffic we drove Venue and I 20. Venue engine despite tall claims, gave poor show. Pickup and average of Venue is pathetic. Rear seat space is very restricted. Ergonomically Venue differs from the classic Hyundai cars, which are known for great pickup and cabin comfort. I-20 has a great ride but has now dated looks and very poor average. Dwindling sales of I-20 speak loudly that it needs major revamp. Venue and I-20 gave a poor 9 to 11 average. XL-6 was test driven as after driving manual cars, we were keen to drive an automatic car with Torque Converter. XL-6 has good handling on account of Torque Converter. Its gear shifting is good and comfortable, but it is a big car. We bought Fronx alpha Automatic this week. Fronx AT gave 16 + average in city and 19 + average on traffic free city. Fronx’s pickup, gear change, silent cabin, leg room and features are beyond comparison. The driving experience of Fronx has simply been great.

@@karthikvarma8447 Fronx is a different car from Baleno. It's body is shaped differently and has more weight than Baleno. FRONX is a heavier car and is solidly built.

Basically it's a baleno with modified/raised suspension.
Tyre profile is better than Baleno. How can you say that this is underpowered in compare to Venue, Sonet,etc. It is around 150-200 kgs lighter & Has around similar power weight ratio.
Edit: Meine almost sabhi reviewers ke videos dekhe & reviews padhe including this, Gagan Chaudhary, Overdrive, Evo India, Faisal Khan, DDS, Team-Bhp,etc. Unn sab me aapaka review sab se jhyaada negative laga closely followed by Gagan Chaudhary. It seems like ke aap dono ko koi interest hee nahi tha gaadi chalaane me, Bas nitpicking hee karani thi. Aap dono ke videos dekh kar Faisal Khan ka XUV 700 ka 1st drive review(Chennai) yaad aa gaya. 4-5 years se aap ka subscriber tha but aaj yeh video dekh kar aap dono ke channels unsubscribe kar raha hun. Not just you but I have observed this with many other reviewers, they always say that the Maruti engine is not peppy but other manufacturers that give peppy engines don't give good mileage. I think everyone should keep in mind you can't get both a peppy engine and good mileage in one. Either you pick a fun-to-drive powerful car and forget the mileage or just pick one that gives good mileage and gets the job done.
Sir, which one is good for Highways, manual or automatic? Is the torque converter lazy even after 2000 rpm?
Around 8000 Nexon cars were sold in September 2023. Nexon held 19th place in overall monthly sales. The False premise of TATA KA STEEL and MARUTI KA TIN KA DABBA has no place in real world, where the consumer has to spend his hard-earned money on a car which he would be using for at least next 6 io 8 years. out of first 11 cars, 9 belong to Maruti. Fronx is at 9th place. TATA were the only car maker to see falling sales. TATA Punch with 14500 cars sold, was at 5th place, a remarkable achievement. Swift and Baleno held 1st and 2nd place in car sales. Venue held 12th place with 10948 cars sold in September.

I am using Fronx Alpha automatic. it has turbo 1 liter engine which is powerful. It is a very good car. It's 1.2-liter version is also very good. Brezza is a proven car. it has more relevance for long drives where you need to carry some extra luggage. Fronx is an allrounder car with great performance.

I booked baleno sigma this month. Should i upgrade to fronx sigma or go with baleno. Please note that my budget is limited to i can't afford above sigma and also it's going to be my 1st car.
No need to buy fronx it is jacked up baleno nothing else it will be having stiff suspension and body roll rather baleno is better than fronx.

Amaze’s CVT is smoother than this one and is best suited for city drives.

Manufacturers like to call even a car that looks like a secret love child of Wagon R and KUV /TUV 100 and add "Mini /compact" as prefix to "SUV" and call it SPresso ! Yes these are hatch backs on stilts and once in a while, on steroids ! But the best part is, we love them and they are good for our roads. suits every budget. Hope they do well with this one too!

The rear view mirror and centre console is blocking the visibility at centre and left side of windshield which might be troublesome during night driving.

Maruti knows people have become aware about various cars with available capabilities and feature nowadays. That is why they are confused about right pricing. If pricing higher full Fronx project will go haywire.

I think that Maruti Suzuki should stop manufacturing Baleno and continue with Fronx only. Also, they should get the pricing done correctly and then it will end the game for i20, Altroz and Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite up to some extent.

Fronx Alpha automatic, which i have been using for last 5 months, is an exceptional car.

However would suggest to avoid catching up with this fad, of almost every UA-cam channel, of doing 0-100 on normal traffic roads, as it neither look safe nor is legal.

Mauti show rooms are in the habit of pushing forced purchases on the new car buyers. this has to be curbed. Proper complaint should be raised by EVERY SUFFERER before the Insurance regulatory authority to (1) warn Maruti on the malpractice (2) ask the Insurance Regulatory authority to instruct Maruti and all the car showrooms to place a notice at the entrance that the car buyers are free to buy insurance and accessories from any source. (3) issue public notice, every 6th month that purchase of insurance, extended warranty and accessories from Maruti/Hyundai is not compulsory. It can be bought from any vendor. (4) issue WhatsApp number for making online complaints.
In 14 seconds Verna Turbo 1.5 can do 0-100 almost twice... Almost! 😂😂
It's good enough for its competition, much better than Punch which does it in 18 Seconds
That’s with two people on board. It will easily do it in around 12-12.5 seconds with one person. But that’s still slower than the Venue/Sonet Turbo DCT, Citroen C3 Turbo and Magnite/Kiger Turbo.
Watch motor beam video where they touched it in 10 secs. The way this video tested is highly wrong and extremely dangerous in a narrow street. Very irresponsible.

My personal opinion:
Maruti Suzuki India made a huge mistake by making FRONX a sub 4 meter car… bcoz they already have BREZZA…
They could have made GRAND VITARA larger than 4400mm and make it available for 16-24 price bracket…
And they could have make FRONX around 4200-4300mm at 10-16lakh range to fill the price bracket between BREZZA & GRAND VITARA…
They have made the GRAND MESS UP in their car line-up now…
Baleno-Brezza-Fronx-GrandVitara all coinciding with each other at some or the other points n prices… 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Thats not how cars line up should be if you wanna sell in volumes…
