After using my Dzire ZDI for 10 years, i wanted to upgrade to an automatic car, so I decided to go for testing the alternatives, available in market. I took test rides of many cars, including XL-6 with Torque Converter, I-20 N line and Venue with DCT, Baleno and Dzire with AGS, Fronx Alpha MT and Fronx Alpha Automatic with Torque Converter. All the cars were driven with AC and 4 occupants in busy city traffic, as well as i drove on wide roads in city with least traffic. . Venue engine despite tall claims, gave poor show. Venue and I-20 gave 9 to 11 average whereas Fronx AT gave 16 + average in city and 19 + average on traffic free city roads. Distinctly, Venue and I 20 struggled on busy roads due to DCT transmission which has distinct RUBBERBAND EFFECT. After the test rides, Fronx Alpha proved to be the most powerful as well as most fuel-efficient car. Overtaking was a prompt and simple and even at 1400 RPM, the engine was very supportive and responsive. The driving experience of Fronx was evidently superior. I have booked Fronx Alpha Automatic, which should be delivered within 10 - 15 days.
Great in-depth review. The camerawork and video editing is also pretty good. But the mic used by the reviewer is giving muffled voice quality and the music-to-anchor audio balancing is very poor. Too loud during music pieces and too soft during voice links. Get better mics guys! Don’t cheap out on that when you have such good content
Claimed mileage for both 1.2 NA and 1.0 turbo by Maruti is the same so real world mileage will be similar. On highways small turbo engines will be more fuel efficient since the engine will spin at lower rpm on highway speeds .

Both have similar engine performance but the Fronx ends up looking slightly bigger and has a higher ground clearance. However Baleno has more rear headroom and a larger boot (height of Fronx is lower). Price difference, version to version could be 50-70 Let's wait for the price announcement
i20 lacks mileage and ground clearance. Fronx is best with Manual and turbo booster Jet coming with high ground clearance, peppy engine, comparatively good mileage, better space, spares and service. So fronxx is better.
Depends on the condition of the turbo which needs to be maintained well. That said, carmakers will likely move away from turbos to limit emissions, so a well maintained turbo vehicle will likely be in demand. But note: Turbos run hotter than NA engines, need more oil changes and you will also need to make sure the air filters are not clogged. If you are living in a dusty hot area, it would be better to go for the NA engine. In the long run, if the turbo engine is not maintained, its performance can lag behind that of an NA engine.
@@alileevil After using Fronx Alpha for 10 months, i can say that Fronx has a bright future. Maruti did not rush for EV cars as the present charging infrastructure is very poor. Maruti sill bets for strong hybrid cars like Grand Vitara which can cover more than 12000 km in a single tank. Fronx Alpha use the most powerful home-grown engine of Maruti. The car is simply fabulous.
Depends on the driving style. In a Santro I was able to get 27 kmpl using engine braking, going at a constant speed, and shifting to higher gears at low revs.
AT would fetch more mileage on highway runs as it runs at lower rpms on higher speeds than the manual. In city, its mostly going to be approx 1.5kms lesser than the manual
Safety is the only drawback in Maruti cars otherwise better than other manufacturers, Steering feedback is not good in Fronx Take test drive of both and decide yourself

@sarvarish sinha if you don't believe in maruti, don't go for fronx. Also if you are gncap guy (being fooled), go only for tata. Else you will not be satisfied as tata will send fronx for gncap rating and get a 2-3 star and make you repent.

How is the bonet visibility ?
The vibrations are missing? It's not like we wanted them.
It's 3 cylinder engine... It has some vibrations
It has no vibrations. I am diving the car for almost a month.
@@flysolo7089 Its got fluid filled engine mounts to absorb the vibrations you would otherwise get from the 3 cylinder.
It's turbo engine is silent and even on 4500 rpm it's NVH is controlled effectively

I have booked Baleno. Now confused between Baleno and Fronx 1.2 Dual Jet Engine. Which one should I buy? Please suggest.
Both have similar engine performance but the Fronx ends up looking slightly bigger and has a higher ground clearance.
However Baleno has more rear headroom and a larger boot (height of Fronx is lower).

I have test driven FRONX Alpha manual as well as Automatic. In short spell, I could find 16+ in the city and 19+ average on wide city roads.
The music is so jarring and loud in between it's put off. Nice inputs distorted sound

the mileage of Fronx 1.2 is extremely good. In the city, it touches 16 and on highways it touches 21.
My Tata punch give 21KMPL mileage on highway at 85-90 Kmph and 15-16 in local city run .
