    I played college golf, won several amateur tournaments, and have been to all the "great" teachers, and this guy is the most creative mind in golf, maybe ever.

      How weird is that? I can't understand how no one else has figured this stuff out. Literally, no one has. A lot of people say I'm teaching THE GOLF MACHINE but no. Kelly didn't go deep enough into the swing.

      Try to do what this guy says and see if you if it works for you. It easy to watch a video like this and it all makes sense until you get on the course and range and try to do what he says and it doesn’t. Also notice how you never see him hit any actual shots.

      @@jamespeterson7100 So all the people who comment and say they not only shot the best rounds of their lives but also hit the longest drives they've ever hit are all lying? That's seems odd to me. Also there are plenty of videos of me hitting balls. There's even one of me hitting balls with a clubhead that spins freely on the shaft - just to prove how the golf club works. If you've tried and it doesn't work you're clearly misunderstanding something. Most likely you haven't actually tried. Personally, I love chatting with guys like you because they're the most amazed when they actually get a golf club to work properly.

    I rarely comment on UA-cam videos, but I had to this time. Your explanation of the golf swing and the concept of the delayed release is fantastic. I've had numerous training sessions on how to move body part XYZ, but I could never take it to the course. Thanks to your tip, I scored 80 for the first time! Subscribed 😎

      There's a lot more to it than this. I literally own the trademark to the "Holy Grail of Golf®" which is what I call the entire swing method. It's not a new way to swing just a different way to think about the swing that results in a proper swing. OverhandGolf.com

    Good to see you back! After I saw a video of yours's a while ago, it got thinking more about the fundamental physics and biomechanics of the golf club/swing. I took a set of old clubs and spent a couple of hours throwing them towards a target. I learned a ton about how the body and the clubs interact, and what it takes to keep them on-line and stable. I've been banned from that range for life, but my swing is much better!

    • @HolyGrailOfGolf
      @HolyGrailOfGolf  2 місяці тому

      I hope you were facing the "target" when you were throwing the clubs and not standing sideways. Also, I recommend people go to an empty park to practice throwing clubs, I know you know that. Although, it would be a good thing to have a big net and a bunch of old clubs where you could practice throwing clubs at every range.

      Shawn Clement did several videos on throwing golf clubs into a net and on a golf course but didn't explain (or maybe I didn't grasp what he was saying) how the club naturally wants to fly in a different direction. I believe what and how you have explained the method is the key to THE GOLF SWING..thanks for your insight!!

    Excelent content. I used to play with very high SW in my clubs, like D6 or higher, but that was long long time ago. Now that I'm 65 I love my clubs on the C6 and lighter. Very light shafts and heavy grips. I gained more distance with this combo.

    I was actually doing this for a year now. And I’ve gained some massive distance. My issue now is it is a draw. But I tend to hit pull draws doing it. They are very long and powerful. And I hit pull draws with the intention of an open face transition into the ball.
    My swing is very unique and many think it is bizarre. But it is my own, just need to put a few more pieces together
    Great video .. I can relate well with it

    Hi G, as you know I have struggled to accept your assertion that we are “swinging in the wrong direction”. I think I get it now thanks to this video. A better phrase might be “throwing in the wrong direction”. I have experienced what you described as trying to throw a club straight but it goes dead left, so you are right about that. Do I make sense re swing vs throw?

    • @HolyGrailOfGolf
      @HolyGrailOfGolf  3 місяці тому +1

      Yes, that's totally correct. If you throw a golf club but don't let go you end up with a swing.

      @@HolyGrailOfGolf tried this today. Irons very scoopy, a lot of loft added through impact. Any insight?

    • @HolyGrailOfGolf
      @HolyGrailOfGolf  3 місяці тому

      @@johnnybravo9087 Yes, and I have videos about this on the website. If you're scoopy or flippy that means you're too far away from the ball at impact. Essentially, you're letting the club dictate the impact position rather than you controlling it. What I mean is that the club is a specific length and it doesn't change so if you're using it at it's maximum length you have to be flippy or scoopy otherwise you won't hit the ball, but if you're closer to the ball you get to dictate how long the club is by how much shaft lean you present at impact. Most people never do this because they're scared of hitting the ball fat but it's literally the only way to prevent what you're describing. Does that make sense? Almost all amateurs are too far away from the ball at impact. Watch some pros and you'll see they're not only too close but they're moving even closer through and after impact as opposed to amateurs who are almost always moving up and away from the ball through impact.

  • @petel8177

    If I have a shorter and stiffer driver, would the implied force need to be farther back or forward in the swing to achieve the grail result?

    • @HolyGrailOfGolf
      @HolyGrailOfGolf  2 місяці тому +1

      It's more about swing weight than stiffness. Truthfully, I haven't experimented with different shaft flex. I should look into that, but I don't think it matters in this respect. I'm by no means saying that shaft flex doesn't matter. In my opinion shaft flex it much more important than most people realize.

    Jack Nicklaus said "you can't release too early on the downswing, as long as you move into your left side and swing the club from inside the target line." And I have no idea what that means because I don't agree with it. Thoughts ?

    • @HolyGrailOfGolf
      @HolyGrailOfGolf  3 місяці тому

      Yeah, that never made much sense to me either. I think the old timers like Hogan and Snead did the same thing where they crafted their phrases to be purposely confusing in a way so that no one would ever know what they were actually saying.

      @HolyGrailOfGolf  3 місяці тому +1

      @@truthlifefishing1730 If you listen closely to literally every golf instruction they never really tell you what it is they're doing. They kinda say what they think they're doing but they're never specific so it's subjective and vague. I know it might sound crazy but even the greatest players don't actually know what they're doing, they only know how to do it. I made a video about this comparing it to riding a bike but it's true. If they did, they could tell you specifically but literally no one ever has. I heard Jake Knapp just the other day say he hit the range in hopes that his swing wouldn't fall apart tomorrow. How can that be if he actually knew exactly what it was he was doing? To most every golfer the swing is just a feeling and having just a feeling is a scary thing.

      This is another "superficial knowledge," that a mass moving in a centrifuge will travel straight and linear immediately on it's current tangent. Oddly, that isn't true. The mass actually continues to arc for a short time even though it's no longer tethered or bound. I was surprised to learn that as well.
