  • This is the first video in what will be a series on the new house. The initial project was to remove all the carpet, carpet pads and tack strips from the house. The carpet is over 40 years old and the amount of dust and pollen trapped in it was an issue. The next major focus was yard clean up and cleaning out the gutters. Since the weather was still nice and the heat from summer and the mosquitos that came with it hadn’t arrived, it was still bearable to spend all day working outside. Most of the work was focused on removing bushes from around the perimeter of the house in order to prepare for foundation work to be done. Hopefully in the next video on the house the foundation will be done so I can move on to projects inside the house.

Around here, homes have post tension slabs to keep the foundation in one piece over the long run. Looks like a home that was owned by an elderly person who simply could no longer keep up with.

Wtf, army or marines or stolen valor?

Seriously with social media and memes you never heard of the stereotype Marines who leave the Corps to go Army. Like 5-10 percent of the active Army is former Marines, I would bet somewhere between 10-20 percent of the National Guard are former Marines. I served in both the Marines and the Army and have two full issues of gear from both. You are the second person today I have had to explain this very basic concept to.
