The ending also suggests she was at the point of death. The phone having no signal outside, and the disappearing butterfly, exiting out into the white surroundings and light, are reminiscent of the reason Barnes gave to people that experienced near death experiences. She was actually still in the basement taking her last breath. The type of wound to the gut she had was fatal, and she certainly couldn't have done the moving and climbing that we seen her do to escape.
@RicksMovieReviews2 yeah, very good movie. Left a lot open for discussion and interpretation, much like the subject of religion. A24 really do superlative horror.
Great break down of the movie. And top marks for not giving to much away. I seen this movie and wow. It's one of those ones where you think you know but you don't. It really keeps you glued to the screen.
She died and the the other girl did not save her to finish killing him, she was already dead, this all simply happened in her mind, as she was already dead and crossed over to the other side... She died when she was stabbed and he was by her side. He died too
Maybe you missed the point of the movie? Who’s the heretic? Not Mr Reed. He represents how charming religion can be when you are lured in. I believe all three of them were dead in the end. The movie lets you believe what happens after death.
The movie was horrible. Both female actors were super uncomfortable with the Sister, Sister, Sister act. They were super cartoonish and stupid. No one's mentioning there was an actual blueberry pie that somebody that was supposed to eat and then die. The blueberry pie eater was the best acting job in the movie. The completely impossible body switch. Being completely stabbed through the throat and still being able to climb stairs 😂. Not to mention he killed the best-looking girl he had. Please tell me it was a slapstick comedy 🤡
I loved how the sister took his power by praying for him and not engaging him , he couldn't stop her, alive or dead she had faith and wouldn't give it up.

I like this interpretation, such a good movie. I love endings that you still find yourself thinking about days later.

Definitely 👍
HG's character was against control yet he was a control freak. Hypocrisy.
Yes! just another reason to dislike him
Short ,sweet and to the point. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful.

Neffex in the outro 🙌
Very enjoyable film. Hugh Grant nailed his performance
He really did
@@warweaponx6629 They ALL did. The girls had to appear frightened and nervous. Very believable. Grant was just being himself.

I think she lived

Exactly. And the other girl was already dead, she didn't get up to finish him off. That was all in her afterlife. He died near her
Can see why they chose Mormonism for this film. It would not have worked with mainstream Christianity.
excellent film!
Agreed 👍

Yes that was a good scene, she ended up being a very strong character
