I’ve seen this live once, 10000 days tour. Justin plays this song sitting in a chair. Difficulty means nothing to this band. Maynard just doesn’t care to play live anymore because of the emotional turmoil it brings. 2006 cellphones were present , but lighters were still the go to to pay homage. Quite the site , gives me goosebumps .
Maynard was 11 when his mother became ill and paralyzed. He was angry and confused. He felt she was taken from him. He watched her continue her faith and questioned why God would do this to her despite her faith. Clearly he struggled with religion. But he does seem to lighten up on that throughout his life
