Oh yeah, I can totally see that! I think it definitely adds a unique element and increases that uneasy feeling when listening, cold isolation sounds about right🤘🏼
GREAT reaction!! LOVE this version. My jaw was on the floor first time hearing it. The Zep version will forever be my favourite (it's in my top 5 Zep songs), but Tool paid perfect tribute to the trippy feel of it, while still Tool-ifying it, and making it their own! Cheers from Canada, eh!
I believe he’s using a megaphone into a mic. It’s a cool mono-distant thing. STP used it a lot. It’s to step back the vocal so you can crank it up in everyone’s face later. Creates interesting dynamics. I’m 50 and I remember loving zeppelin and thinking that this was an instant classic.
Thanks for the information and feedback on that, it definitely created an interesting dynamic and when they brought the plain vocals in it was massive! So good!
Of course, it wouldn't exist without the original, but TOOL owns it now. Do Pushit off Aenima. Then follow it with Pushit from Salival (this album). Same song completely different versions.
This is my 1st time hearing Tool's version as well. (I've listened to the Zeppelin version like 40,000 times.) Tool's version is pretty good. I wouldn't turn it off if I happened across it, but wouldn't tell someone "you gotta hear this!" either.
To me a great cover is an interpretation, not a clone. The mega phone effect may not be loved by everyone, but it was all part of the build up that TOOL is known for. LZ is my all time favorite band, but this is such a masterful cover that pays homage to Zeppelin & the original, while elevating to a place only TOOL could take it. This song was originally promised to the Howard Stern movie Private Parts by their management at the time, but TOOL pulled it in the end and refused. Something about signing over the rights & TOOL has a standing rule of no soundtracks? Howard Stern still holds a grudge to this day!
Thank you for all the insight and background regarding Howard and your feelings about this song! I totally agree, a masterful cover🤘🏼 only Tool could pull this off in such a powerful fashion doing the original justice!
I honestly like this version way more than Zepp's. Tool's version actually makes me feel something that Zepp's version doesn't; it's hypnotic. If you react to Tool, Tool army will follow!!!
I will definitely always prefer the original to the copy. The voice in the megaphone is not possible!!! After 3 minutes my ears started bleeding, I stopped! 😆
Tool is just on a whole different level of there own.
They are SO DAMN GOOD
Couldn't agree more. They've created their own genre and there is no other band that sounds like them.
Tool kept the essence or DNA of the Zepplin version, but took it somewhere else making it their own. The perfect cover.
I totally agree, such beauty in honoring the original but adding such a Tool touch🙏🏼
Better than Zepp's imo
With the vocal effect, it's amplifying that emptiness in the lyrics. I think of it as cold isolation
Oh yeah, I can totally see that! I think it definitely adds a unique element and increases that uneasy feeling when listening, cold isolation sounds about right🤘🏼
More Tool, if yo u havent yet, Parabol/Parabola together no pause between my favorite song ever ❤❤🥰
Thank you for the support and recommendation, I’ll definitely try to get more Tool uploaded:)
Danny with Beat doing "Indiscipline" from 8th October, released 3 days ago. It's a drumcam
Thank you for the recommendation, I haven’t heard that song nor seen a drum cam of it, I’ll add it to the list:)

Cheers🤝🏼! I totally agree, I think it was an amazing cover and I loved them both haha!

I do enjoy Zeps song. Respect where due. However. Tool elevated to another level. This version is a masterpiece.
Tool did the original so much justice and added there own flavor, such a great cover🤟🏼
A reworking that keeps the spirit of No Quarter alive.❤
Agree completely🤘🏼
Nice one... Keep on Rocking my dude. Tool Army embraces you. 🤟😎👍
Appreciate the support, always🤝🏼
Been waiting for this video to drop! 🙌🏼
SO good! Hope you enjoyed:)

Yes please. Live Lewiston ma 98. The absolute best
I’ll definitely have to get to Push It! I have added it to my list🤝🏼
Heck ya bro .. keep rockn . Love all your reviews
Thank you so much, genuinely appreciate all the support🙏🏼

Love the honesty, I totally respect that opinion and I’m glad you simply gave it a shot along with me:)
Speaking of Tool covers, try their rendition of Peach's You Lied, off of Tool's Salival live album. Killer tune.
I have not heard that song at all, I’ll definitely add it to the list🤘🏼
x 1000000%
Tool hits different. IMO, better than the original. Danny KILLING it.
Tool does hit differently, SO DANG GOOD. I love the heavy elements as well as the build in most of there music🙏🏼
I think Zeppelin would 😍 it…so many people screw up covers, but not tool, not them…they are true artists
To me a great cover is an interpretation, not a clone. The mega phone effect may not be loved by everyone, but it was all part of the build up that TOOL is known for.

Crazy song on a good sound system 👍, I think it’s a Peach 🍑 song. Outstanding cover.
I couldn’t agree more, such power and beauty!✊🏼
@ 👍.
My favorite cover ever❤I like it even more than Zeppelins
Both songs are so dang good!
I honestly like this version way more than Zepp's. Tool's version actually makes me feel something that Zepp's version doesn't; it's hypnotic.
If you react to Tool, Tool army will follow!!!
I would love for the Tool army to join the channel, I have heard a good amount of Tool but definitely not all of it:)
another banger tshirt
Banger Band 🤝🏼 Banger T Shirt
Great job of giving it modern spin in only a way Tool could. Some of the lyrics or incorrect but who cares, this was hard as hell.
I totally agree, a great cover with a heavy twist! Loved it!
Have you heard Opiate^2? Another possible first time reaction
I have not actually, I’ll add that to the list🤝🏼✊🏼
Yeah, DC = GOAT IMO
Undeniably top 5 for me:)
why can't we just admit it?
🥁 🥁
Wrong song but that track is good.
I will definitely always prefer the original to the copy. The voice in the megaphone is not possible!!! After 3 minutes my ears started bleeding, I stopped! 😆
Haha that’s totally fair, I love both versions, can’t go wrong with that nasty guitar riff:)
🙄🙄🙄
Great reaction dude, you definitely need to check out Tools cover of "you lied" from the album "salival", another banger!
I’ve never heard this, I’ll add it to the list and try to get a video up, thank you for supporting a small creator and for the recommendation🤘🏼
