    Top job and well done this has to be one of the "must do" mods on the SM650.

    Why did you not split the chain

    • @SlowRiderCZ
      @SlowRiderCZ  6 місяців тому

      There is no connecting part as far as I´ve noticed. I´d have to cut it with a grinder - and that´s something I did not want to mess with. Recent reviews say, that if you disconnect rear shock and drop the swing arm, you can take it out without having to remove the spindle. That´s good news!!

    It takes time but it seems that it can be installed without a garage.

      Daniel, thanks for the comment. You need to have tools (torque wrench is a must) available, blue locktite and some space. Basic experience with motorbike mechanics is also highly recommended. I am no expert, I was used to do the motorbike maintenance myself, and this was pretty straight forward - the instructions that come with the kit have been updated since my installation based on observations and comments from users - so I believe it´s really doable in home conditions.

      @@SlowRiderCZ Thanks for the response, yes a rider must have a minimum of knowledge, a torque wrench is a must!! The most fun is working on the motorcycle you take care of.

    Got this installed on my SM 650......the ride is now super smooth, that mechanical rawness delivering the final drive to the wheels via the chain is now not there......the chain snap and jerk in some cases is not there anymore....smooth acceleration....

    The YSS rear shocks looks interesting, are they 360mm long? Could you please post the model number of the shocks, the ones you have installed do come in different sizes.
    However, I like the modifications on your bike, the belt drive as well. Thank you for your spirit in biking, and every thing that you have demonstrated is a great help to all the fellow bikers, much appreciated.
    Thank you

    There is no need to remove the swing arm or take the wheel completely out from under the mudguard the pulley will fit on ok and the chain if twisted through 90 degrees comes past the the swing arm pivots

    • @SlowRiderCZ
      @SlowRiderCZ  3 місяці тому

      I cannot imagine I would fit the pulley on a wheel that is fiddling under the rear mudguard, but thanks for the tip with the swing arm!!!

      @@SlowRiderCZ the regina HPE chain crossed the czech republic yesterday, starting in Železná Ruda and left northwards around Chomutov. Now with slightly 20k use, still 0 adjusting, checked every link, all perfect. The chain cost me ~ 300 euro and i was not allowed to use aluminium sprockets, the sprockets are also 20k km on, and still good 🧐

  • @Happyfacehotwheels
    @Happyfacehotwheels 4 місяці тому +1

    Harley guys, we need to replace the belt with a chain conversion because it's stronger...
    Royal Enfield guys, we need a belt conversion because a chain is too much work, and belts are way easier to maintain.
    Motorcycle guys, we can't leave anything alone as OEM is merely a suggestion.😁

    Thank you very much for this very helpful video 🙂 I have also bought this same belt drive kit from RSTech for my Super Meteor. I am still working up the courage to fit my one 😳 Do you think it would be a good idea to get myself a special jack to raise the height of my bike a bit more to made removing the rear wheel a little easier?

    • @SlowRiderCZ
      @SlowRiderCZ  7 місяців тому

      Hi Felix! Thank you for your comment! I think it is doable even without the jack, but if you have one, it would definitely make things easier, not only removing the wheel, but also testing the belt on the pulley once installed...I decided not to purchase one as this is one time project...

    Where did you get that rear luggage rack, that works with the touring seat ?

    • @SlowRiderCZ
      @SlowRiderCZ  3 місяці тому

      It is a Hepco&Becker one - it doesn´t fit for 100% - the back part of the touring seat reaches to the arch of the rack - and I had to adjust base plate of the topcase, but it works and I don´t know about any other option for the touring seat. It looks shit, but as I mention in another video (see the one with bag comparison) - it´s a must for me...
