SHIT this was 51 years ago. It does bring back some memories.
GOOD AUSSIE ROCK. 😎😎😎❤❤❤💪💪💪👍👍👍
Sunbury '72. Wasn't that the same year Queen got booed off stage ?
What great song that stands the test of time - Matt's vocals are so raw and gut-wrenching! I love Chain.
I just had to hear this song right now and I never knew this clip existed. Great convict blues. Matt Taylor always said that he had to make an Australian take on the blues and Chain did it here with aplomb.
Matt Taylor is a great Bluesman.
Chain were so inspirational.
I saw them in Melbourne in about 1967/8ish, obviously I have loved the blues just didn't realise it till years later
Loved Chain, saw them play many times over the years. Black & Blue was always awsome live! Matt Taylor on Harmonica, and Phil Manning an amazing guitarist. Sometimes Wendy Saddington joined them on vocals too. Great band and fond memories of them on Tuesday nights at the Sunnie's in Punchbowl!
Fuck! Those were the times! And i not had access to their Great music. Still enjoy this now at my 67 Yrs .Rockin Blues and Boogie Chillin
Legends!! Love ya Matt! Phil Manning.....Word! 🎸 The.... Best... Live!! Blues Rock.🤘🏽 Honnered to have been there rocked on at many gigs. East Coast 🎉
That's so good and so bad , love you Chain, you'll never break my spirit, even when my body's black and blue Carolx
MATT YOU GUYS ARE A LEGEND.. SEEN YAS A FEW TIMES WHEN IN ADELAIDE BEST NIGHT EVER BACK IN THE DAY YAA THOSE WERE THE DAYS
Towards the blues chain classic album
This is the epitome of a chain gang song at the start, followed by a classic bluesy groove!
Aplomb is such a fabulous forgotten word, I want to live my life with aplomb from now on Carolx
Killer Chain was at the pinnacle of Australian R&B if they had radio 📻 play in the USA 🇺🇸 they would've been able to press enough record's to keep up with sales...
I remember seeing Chain ar the Shenton Park Hotel ~ magic 👌
Matt TAYLOR ROCKS ... GONE TO SEE THEM A FEW TIMES BRILLIANT
Love "Judgement" by Chain!!!

Awesome Video mate, I am doing my research on Matt as I have a one on one interview with Matt 25th August 2020 and should have the videos published on my channel sometime in September 2020. Cheers #iSpike Western Australia
Where is he now? I was into his music in the 70's.
I would like Sina drums to do a cover. This song makes me ache and pain.Brothers, can live without them. No one calls me anymore or less.
Thank you all!
Mosmanpark cant remember wat year met Matt THE LEDGEND potent muzak
RIP
Matt Taylor, Phil Manning, Barry Sullivan & Barry Harvey. This would be early to mid 1971 as by the end of the year Taylor was the only one still there but the other would eventually return.
Wow
Eric Bana will play Matt in the movie, for sure
What movie ?
Wow. What movie
He should by the way
this song got knocked off the hit parade after only 8wks by none other thab ELO's telephone line i think.only a guesse.thanks for uploading anyway.
Hey Matt. Just got the harmonica out in time !
You're starved of good music, aren't you? Bad luck you were born into the era of crap music, and you can shove Matt's harmonica where it fits, I'm sure he's another one Cx
@@carolcollins4878 Like your comment is supposed to mean something?
@@carolcollins4878 Crap Music, indeed ! I was born the year that Rock Around The Clock came out and have followed music intensely since I was 11 years old. What do you know? Read up and be informed en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_and_Blue_(Chain_song)
this song is from there toward the blues album
Then again , I heard Bob Dylan, David Bowie and others were releasing their cattle dogs, and thought what the he'll, baby dogs why did they have them in the first place? No it was Catalogues, yes gone a bit rogue animal lover Cx
Were these popular with sharpies ?
Can anyone tell me who the bass and lead here ? Thanks
It's only taken a year Cathy. Original line-up as far as I can see. Phil Manning (with long flowing locks) on guitar and Big Goose Barry Sullivan on bass.
He sounds like Ozzy.
I just listened to this dude, and while I do not like Australians, I'm going to have to say that he doesn't sound like Ozzy. He has a better voice than Ozzy's.. a lot more gravel... Ozzy wished he sounded like this.
@@drt162 He absolutely sounds like Ozzy. It’s a clear imitation. That doesn’t mean that it isn’t good, it’s just interesting to see how that sound sort of spread. I am American myself. Also a music sleuth. Highly recommend the channel Bandsplaining.
THIS SONG IS TO ALL THE FILTH OUT THERE... THE ONES WHO TURNS THE KEY ON US ...
GET THIS INTO YA MUTTS
FUCK YEAH
Linku'n
Absolutely terrible.
