Vita got such awesome graphics for portable the very fact that it is being compared to a home console is pretty much enuff said.
This is one the best Vita games , VT4 looks incredible on the Vita OLED screen , believe me .
Vita has amazing hardware, if Sony didnt use those stupid memory cards, Vita would have been legendary like the PSP

I don't know if it's just me, but it seems like most Vita- games have better colour saturation than their PS3 counterparts.

rulewski33 Yeah but when its recorded straight from the source instead of captured with a camera that doesn't explain it..
It's about colour space, bigger DPI and less pixels to handle usually shows much stronger colours than something on a bigger screen with more pixels (high end hardware will manage colour better). It could also be the capture device they are using causing saturation.

This was my first Vita game and its fantastic, an excellent port, but the lower texture detail and lower polys on the players is pretty darn obvious in this footage. Doesn't look as different as I expected, but then video compression softens the image A LOT.
This is also why the current-gen/next-gen comparisons looked so close when on the real thing on your TV the difference is night/day.
They seem to implement colors and lighting better in the vita version.. other than that the ps3 has some sharper shadows in the background and more anti-aliasing
erik They removed some of the lighting in the Vita version though, but were able to add it in some other places but more subtle. It makes sense, the Vita has modern shaders I believe (making it more in common with the PS4 than PS3) but vastly less poweful than the PS3 GPU in raw power.
This also explains the shadows and probably the anti-aliasing as again, all those things are based on newer GPU functionality.
As for colours, you have to try to ignore those as the Vita was optimised for OLED and the PS3 its ultimately down to your TVs settings.

The Vita port is a damn good effort. Even More praise than the PSP counterparts in performance. Plays the same. Also really good if you like a few extra nifty Vita features.
I'm not fussy on which VT game is better. They all feel pretty similar, but it is taking a bit used to with smoother physics.
Does anyone know which PC settings for this game to use in order to achieve the more subtle lighting of the Vita version? I'll still keep the textures up, but I like the way the colors are more in the Vita version.

Yay! I just picked this game up off ebay for 4 quid on the Vita. For a handheld game this is quality. Dunno if it's better than the PS3 version, but who cares? I just got me a bargain!

Since when do phones have direct driver level access for games? Windows doesn't as far as I know whereas consoles developed games do have driver kernel access.

I think that the PS Vita version of Playstation allstars is great too. It looks almost as good as the PS3 version, and runs at the same framerate :).

Both look amazing finally a good looking ps vita game but wish that they would really quit under powering ps vitas games tho we all know the vitas got potential

Nope, PS3 is stronger and this video (many others too) proves it. However, for an handheld, Vita is really powerful.

PS3 looks more define to me. but with its size, PSVITA is fucking amazing!
The thing is, if the next portable PS comes with a Tegra K1, it will be BETTER than the PS3. That could be a huge selling point of a new PS handheld. I hope this doesn't happen though, since i own a Vita, and feel like it's potential hasn't truly been tested. The launch titles like Wipeout and Uncharted really show that the console needs more AAA titles to sell. At the moment, the console has a shocking library. I mean, come on. My local game shop has sold the same games for months now. The PS Vita can do big games, and Borderlands 2 proved that. Another thing is that SO many people bought them after getting their PS4's, so why not get more developer support? It's been 3 years, why does the PS Vita still feel like a new console? sort this out Sony.
***** The problem was, they didn't advertise that much and gave the console and it's required parts like the memory card extremely high prices so not many people bought the vita at first, which scared developers away, which made the people looking at the vita scared of buying a console with no games, which meant EVEN LESS people bought it which, yet again made developers more unsure about developing for it. It's a vicious cycle that begins with a launch mistake.
the switch is here and it has a tegra x1 chip, and it's more powerful than ps3, but sadly it's not playstation.
@alex atkins same with the vita lol vids here on youtube cant compare when ur playing with oled 5" right in ur face infact ps3 has the advantage in these comparisons cause vita only has 5 inches of screen duh u dont need all that texture in a 5" inches screen and vita games looks amazing in person killzone on the vita runs on the killzone 3 engine with native vita res.. So far its the only game that utilizes the vita every game is half ass ports

Vita is missing some details, especially in the shader department- which sucks because thats what it seems to lack in al PS3/Vita cross over games... Its like Sony made a great cake but put shitty icing ontop, whereas nintendo did the opposite.

look at the first few ps3 games the graphics where crap because they were underestimating the machine and used to the ps2 graphics just like now with the vita they are underestimating its potential so they dont do as much with the graphics but the potential is there
That will probly happen when the PS4 comes out, or when they stop making PS3 games. The Vita was promised a 10-year life cycle. The PS3's life cycle will soon be up so we are likely to see better Vita games if Sony allows.

the lack of anti aliasing is all thats stopping the vita from winning this. the color looks more vibrant but the jaggies are what get it. still for a handheld to come this close to a console is an impressive achievement
