When it comes to packing for a long trip, and knowing how to travel sustainably, there’s so much to consider. Firstly, what’s the best suitcase to bring? How can I stay organized while traveling? I use the Away suitcase (actually, Away suitcases because I have multiple!) (awaytravel.com) and my backpack is from Dagne Dover (dagnedover.com). I think it’s the best backpack for traveling. I also, of course, carried my swell bottle - major travel packing tips!
When we got home from our honeymoon in Thailand and The Maldives, the question I got over and over again was "HOW DO YOU PACK FOR A LONG TRIP?" Everyone was curious about how many bras and pairs of underwear I brought...if we did laundry or not...how many bags I carried with me...and so much more!
So come pack with you, and write down these travel packing hacks along the way.
So THIS is how I packed...as neatly and sustainably as possible! My twin sister, Allie, was a major help -- we organized everything and picked out outfits for each and every activity that was planned. I repeated a ton of outfits over the course of the trip and, of course, had to change some outfits on the fly...but overall, we stuck to our plan and it made things very simple.

I went on 2 12 hour flights with a 3 hour, then a 7 hour layover in between with a totebag instead of a backpack. I will never again travel without a backpack. My shoulders were killing me during the layovers and just walking around the airport to get in the plane.
Hearing you say you kept your passport and wallet in the front, super accessible part of your backpack made me so nervous!!
I actually wore my fanny pack on the plane and they were stashed in there 😂

To store your sesame oil - what about a reusable sandwich bag? Like Stasher bags, and then have larger sizes, like half gallon size too.

I have stasher bags and they are so so so so good!!!! Highly recommend, never had issues with them leaking! Plus they can go in the dishwasher 👏🏼

Just FYI that brand of floss has PFAs/PFCs in it. These were found in Thinx recently as well. Just wanted to give you a heads up- I got a giant pack of that brand from Costco than I'm returning now. You might try Reach mint waxed instead and or a Water pik (not for travel).
Packing wise- I do carry-on only after getting used to backpack/camping trip where you have to carry every oz you bring on your back. Esp after having checked bags lost, it simplifies everything. It's not as easy of an option if you're creating content on a trip however. Did you end up wearing all 7 swim suits?
If it doesn't have two uses I don't bring it. Ex officio brand travel undies dry super fast, you can sink wash them and wear them 2 hours later.
I am planning on Iceland for my honeymoon and will bring an inflatable camp pillow I use when backpacking, but depending on time of year the coats etc will add significant bulk to my suitcase.

For all the people that still plan to go to Thailand, please don't take as many in country flights! In the case of Thailand it is so unnecessary. I would defenitely recommand taking a sleepingtrain instead. You see more of the country, they are in fact quite comfortable and so much better for the planet than flighing within Thailand four times, like why?!
