5 days without washing hair
5 days without a shower or bath
5 days without news, on tv, computer or paper
5 days going out socially every night
5 days dog sitting
5 days on the Atkins diet (very low carb)
5 days of creating Art
5 days walking and biking (no motorized transportation)
5 days bartering (not spending any money)
5 days dressed as a man
5 days as a platinum blonde
5 days dressed like your Mom (yr Grandma, if your Mom is too cool)
5 days drinking a gallon of water per day
5 days without reading
5 days without looking in a mirror
+Ali Murphy 5 days without shower is a but much. She should do 5 days with only bathing at night.
+LUCY SERLING My suggestions are the product of brainstorming. I don't go out socially every night, but this isn't about me. It's about Lucie doing things differently than her norm. Maybe you should be asking Lucie Fink if she goes out every night.
You're not supposed to wash your hair more than once a week anyways.
aributeragrandes Everyone's hair texture is different, i only wash my hair every two weeks but mine is thick and coarse like 4b hair.
I realise most people might not notice, but I feel like I'm one of those people who would notice if someone wore the same outfit. And not in a "i'm judging you" kind of way, but I would be like - oh, same outfit. :p
Heh - my mother (and we're both "adults"...wayyyy adults...anyway) has always loved fashion, working with clothes, and shopping. When she goes someplace (now it's mainly just a monthly trip to the Dr.) she plans what she's going to wear, including all accessories, the night before. That excites her for some reason that is unfathomable to me. I figure out what I'm going to wear the day of, after my shower, hair is done...basically right before I walk out the door BUT - I tend toward minimalism and, as noted above, wear the same type of outfit daily.
When I see my mother she's always trying to give more clothes to me and can't figure out why I don't enjoy having a ton of clothes. She scoffs at minimalism and there's no way I can explain to her that I prefer living as I do. Oh, the point of my response - she notices every little detail someone wears and remembers it. I barely notice what one is wearing as I look primarily at faces and expressions. (I'm a retired mental health counselor.)

why would you not pick a plain shirt? People would probably not notice if you wore a plain black or white shirt every day all week, while it's unlikely you would have repeats on the same exact patterned shirt...
plus i'm pretty sure steve jobs and bill gates had multiple copies of a black shirt, not wear the exact same shirt.. day.after day... that's pretty gross.
I'm sorry, but I do notice what people wear and if they wear it again or even something similar. Hell, my 4 year old cousin noticed when I wore the same plain grey t-shirt twice in one week. People do notice. Do they care? No. But they will notice.
You're right I do notice what people are wearing but I don't care if they were it over again
I also notice what people wear , and also my 3 year old cousin noticed that i wear the same skirt from the last time she saw me ( sorry for my bad eng)
lovelythorns yeah these videos make me feel bad because I always notice when people wear the same thing 😂 I don't judge them but it makes me wonder why they're doing it, like if they can't be bothered to pick something else or it it's just their favourite outfit or what
lol I also notice, I don't care! But I notice.
Same here.
love these. how about going the opposite way? five days of dressing really outlandishly or really dramatic makeup
I absolutely love this idea!
right on, girl! I own 2 pairs of shoes and not a lot of clothing. I donate and wear few outfits. I don't care what anyone thinks about me or my actions; I learned from my parents very early, around 12, I'm 63 and so happy! self-discovery is so awesome. I also do so much alone. my kids are grown and my grandkids are growing. I'm happy for you!
5 days of minimalism!!!
+Stephanie Yu STAY TUNED IN A FEW WEEKS ;)
yay!!!!
love your videos
Sitting here excited because I have that shirt with the cacti
Where did you get it?
H&M
Lizzie Cook link??
You could try 5 days of volunteering? Earth day is coming up, maybe be carbon neutral or something? :) Love this series.
+Maggie Humes This is happening in the near future :)
Maggie Muñoz Good idea!

I did a purge of my closet today because of this video. I saw it a few weeks ago and the more I thought about it, the more I realized I needed to do this. Love all your videos!
I have a few problems with this:
1. "Do I remember what people wear?" - YES, I absolutely do. (Maybe thats just me tho...)
2. "U might experience the Spotlight effect - but actually no-one is looking at you" - Well, I don't dress for others. I dress for myself. So who cares if someone notices?
3. "A sad conclusion considering how much tme you spend getting dressed in the morning" - What about the fact that this time can actually be FUN to some people?
+Valentina DiGiorgio ++++++++ WAIT!!!!!! SHE DIDNT WASH THE OUTFIT ALL WEEK?! Ok, thats extreme.
ahahahaha. i totally agree!!! i was like, is it a waste of time if i ENJOY doing it???? plus she MISSED THE POINT by not washing that outfit ALL WEEK> steve jobs and bill gates had MULTIPLE copies of the same shirt , not wear it over and over again without washing it. by the end of the week she looked hella icky wearing that body-odour reeking outfit.
I remember once i middle school, I wore the same sweater two days in a row because I liked it and someone made a comment. Never done it again since then.
Also my mother hammered it pretty hard into my head that I should change outfit everyday.
5 days without make up
+lovely sky YAY! She did that! ua-cam.com/video/wpbPE58GhZE/v-deo.html
What should Lucie do next week!?
+Refinery29 5 days of silence! No speaking.
five days saving water
5 days with no mirror.
+Refinery29
5 days of minimalism /downsizing
I totally notice if someone's wearing the same outfit or has something similar on, probably because I like fashion. The people I'm around will notice if I put in extra effort into my outfit, surprisingly its not just girls but also my guy friends will be like 'why do you look so fancy' or they think I'm trying to impress someone when I really just do it for myself and to feel confident.
I LOVE living with Lucie videos !!! They're one of my favorite videos to watch on youtube !
Hey Lucie, I love your hair! Could you give us a quick rundown of what you do to achieve this look, somewhere?
+Szippy6 Haha, one of these days I will do this for you ;)
+Lucie Fink and for me, please!!! your hair looks so cool
I am binge-watching these like crazy right now. Like, I've got the entire playlist just playing one after the other. Love these so much!
I detoxed my closet last week too! It was so nice having empty hangers in the closet
The real problem about having so much stuff (yes, stuff, not only clothes) is that we keep on buying and consuming more. we buy, we throw some away, we buy some more - and so on - . So yes, donating is a great idea, but stop consuming WAY MUCH more than what we actually need in such a fast pace is even better :) I liked your video ;)
a week of being a raw vegan!
Yes!!
+Jacqueline Filo I thought the same thing but actually it is, look it up and you will now why people are vegan and how cruel the egg and dairy industry is.
+Jacqueline Filo I thought the same but if you're that sceptical look it up, it's disgusting
I get the idea that we don't need to change clothes just for the look of it, but what about the hygiene part of it? I do sometimes wear the same outfit for two or three days, especially jumpers and coats, but for tshirts I feel it's gross to put on the dirty tshirt again after shower, unless you don't shower?
+Chestnut Cal Just own many of the same clothes. :)
Well, you only really need to wash your undershirts or whatever is next to your skin regularly. If you don't sweat a lot and wear an undershirt, you can use your shirt a week without any odour problems. Trousers, sweaters and cardigans can go months without washing, even, if you hang them out in the fresh air every now and then and clean stains immediately. (I am talking about men's clothing, of course.) Jackets and coats do not need to be washed, ever, unless they get stained somehow. But note that the clothes do need some time to dry and get air, so you can't wear them every day (just like you shouldn't wear the same shoes twice in a row). tl;dr: Yeah I'd change t-shirts whenever they feel dirty or smell bad, but you probably have several of pieces of the same item so you can just throw the clean one on.
Personally, I try to have a limited set of clothes in rotation each season that I combine based on the weather, occasion and what I feel like. If it's winter, I'm not going to use my jeans or chinos, so that's half my pants out of the picture. It becomes an issue of: do I pick one of these two cords, two moleskins, or woolen slacks? Two cardigans, two sweaters; choose type, then choose color; or pick neither, just toss a jacket over your shirt. So the real choice and stuff I need to change is just the shirt and undergarments. The chances of having more than two clean, ironed shirts (in rotation) handy are pretty slim, so it's an easy choice.
tl;dr: I wouldn't use the same outfit every day, but you can simplify your process by picking a set of items you decide to use this season, and leaving the rest in the closet until spring/summer/fall/whatever. 2-3 pairs of trousers, 2-3 types of shirts, 2-3 jackets, 2-3 knit tops, and that's pretty much all you need for fall/winter. Now that it's finally getting warm, though, I need to figure out a good spring/summer set.
If your jacket is an absorbent fabric and has a high-ish collar, it absorbs loads of skin oils and becomes pretty manky over time. I see a lot of guys with terrible neck acne who don't realise this, I think girls are more likely to notice if they wear makeup and get foundation stains on the collar.
plus i'm pretty sure steve jobs and bill gates had the MULTIPLE copies of the same shirt , NOT wear the same shirt day after day after day. they completely missed the point with this. after a few days, they looked kinda icky to me.
Sometimes I wash what I wear on the same day... I don't like having dirty clothes around..
I know that's not the point of the video but I actually really like the cacti shirt where did you get it
+Nicole Chow Haha! I got it at H&M.
+Lucie Fink Do you know where the dress is from? love you BTW!
i love this video! also your outfits are all cute! where did you get that dress at 0:39? its so cute! also i love all your videos, they are so informative (im 17 and alot of them have helped me understand alot of stuff, like essential oils and other interesting topics)
the black dress i mean
5 days giving something valuable to homeless people
yes, great idea
that brings charm to my soul. I want to try that
The fact is we are not as important as we seem to think we are in others lives. Why should they care or even notice what we wear. People are busy with their own day to day lives.
Five days of homemade food
31 days of no social messaging
+Hui-Ling Chang WOAH, that sounds like a different series.
That would be an easy one for me. I don't own or want a "smart phone."
For me the trick to making this idea really work is accessories. I lost my luggage on the way to another city for 5 days. I had a pair of blue jeans and a black t-shirt on (how blessedly neutral is that!). With a strategic thrift store purchase of a bright scarf, a neutral sweater, and a single pair of flaming red flats I made it for 5 days! No one noticed nor cared. If I'd had an event I probably would have picked up a simple black pencil skirt in addition, but fortunately I didn't that time.
did she wear the same outfit without washing it? cuz that's kinda gross. i'm pretty sure steve jobs, bill gates , etc. didn't wear the EXACT SAME OUTFIT day after day, they had MULTIPLE shirts, etc. of the same kind.
I'm moving my life to minimum, but I will always keep a bit few outfits in my wardrobe due to nature of my job.
Yesterday I spent the whole night clearing out my wardrobe and It felt so good , two bags full of clothes I have never worn or are too small and I feel good knowing it's going to a good cause!
WHAAAAAAAT??? TWIN SISTER??
IKR
Baked Potato if I'm being honest I only liked your comment because your name is baked potato. I didn't even read the comment. Idk why I am this weird.
Yasssss Fridays are the best 😍😍😍 love this show!!!
+Jackie Au AGREEEED. Thanks for watching xx
5 days of genuinely complimenting every person that you talk to. An experiment to see how it changes the dynamic with them, how it makes you notice different things when you are looking to identify something good about each person you interact with...
I'm a supply teacher, so I do this during the week (different colours, same shirt). It makes life easier!
For anyone thinking about it, a clothing uniform does NOT always mean wearing the same thing for several days in a row- however, what she did was awesome. A clothing uniform would be like for me, I wear slacks or jeans, a sweater, a button down, and dress shoes on most days. However, I have multiple colours of sweaters and pairs of pants and button downs. But still, doing a sort of "cleanse" like this can really make you take a look at your clothes and realise how little of it you wear. I make my clothes by hand with free trade fabrics since I'm really against sweatshops and that can seriously decrease the amount of junk clothing you have.
The a-ha moment was awesome. I had that when I was traveling so much for work that I lived out of my suitcase. The clothes sitting at home waiting for me, don't miss me. Nor do I really miss them! I also downsized because I move frequently
It is very strange watching this video on UA-cam. I usually see Lucie on Facebook. I love this these!
Love it!!! This makes me want to clean out my closet too!!! Fantastic job, Lucie!!!
It's harder to decide what to buy in the US because YOU HAVE SO MUCH STUFF HERE. Jeez, going to target is a pain 🙄
I only really notice when someone looks damn good in their clothes.
I am watching all of your living with lucie videos......to inspire me for things I should do when I get a job so I can live a "better" life style when I get a job/move out......... These videos r really helping me thanks for making them 😊
nobody cares if u wear the same outfit ... The Simpon's, South Park, Rick and Morty ... they don't change clothes for years and we still love them :D :D
Suggestions: Have 5 sets of same / similar clothes. Can then have fresh sets that look the same to avoid decision making and not stink. Wash them all over weekend and then start over.
I like the awareness that this experiment could bring. I do admit that I have more clothing then needed. I often will wear the same jeans multiple times in a week but not the same shirt. I believe the people you work with and see pretty much on a daily basis do notice as I get compliments often on outfits, hair whatever from the women and men in my department. So some will notice but wouldn't say anything and maybe not care as long as I don't smell bad...lol I wear perfume so not worried about that.
hello... and ive been wearing the same sweater, the same pair of jeans, the same coat and the same boots during the whole winter washing them (sweater, jeans and tshirts) once a week. And under the sweater i wore 2 t-shirts which i changed throughout the week. Yep it's quite nice u dont need to think alot in the morning deciding what to wear but on the other hand i think that clothes should make a person more attractive and also it helps to look more professional...
I pick out my clothes the night before and lay them out so I don't have to male a ton of decisions in the morning. This helps me to have a more peaceful morning.
I really loved this! I always run late because of deciding what I need to wear. It saved me so much time trying to set my clothes out before hand and preparing my breakfast and lunch as well. PLEASE TRY THE KON MARI METHOD for one of your videos!!! It changed my life!!!!!
I used to repeat an outfit quite often and my friends used to ask me why I would wear the same thing twice a week, I wouldn't care if I wound wear the same thing over and over again unless its clean but my friends don't think the same way. People do care about what you wear even of you yourself don't care. All the matters is how well deal with when you are being judged
loved the video especially the awakening that occurred at the end of your 5 days. ugh I have too many clothes & will work at decluttering
Five days of saying exactly what you think!
I waited 10 minutes for this video to load , commitment !
I couldn't get over how pretty your hair is.
5 days of asking people deep & meaningful questions!
5 days of:
- 4 hr naps instead of 8 hrs sleep
- talking to at least 15 people face to face
- eating raw food
- unprocessed food
- walking barefoot (maybe just in the office if it is New York)
- cycling to work
- not driving
- not using commercial cleansers, toothpaste, soap, detergent, dish washing liquid etc
- talking to at least 5 strangers per day
- catching up with a friend per day
- calling a distanced friend or relative each day
- no music
- no electronic devices
- no talking, just listening
- going to somewhere new each day
- writing a letter to someone random or someone u know
- eating every single meal with someone
- no TV, phone, or computer
- living like a blogger (dressing fancy each day, kardashian makeup, taking pictures of each meal and ootd, posting it on social media, vlogging and editing and all)
- drawing or painting an art piece by hand a day
- not a word of complaint
- a walk before heading to work
- home at 11pm
- don't use electricity once it is sundown.
Not only do I notice what others wear, I care too. I will never forget a junior high history teacher wore the same jacket for 4 weeks straight. Yeah the students all talked about it too. When I say I care I mean I truly appreciate it when other people try to look nice. I know it takes effort and since I'm the one looking at them it's wonderful to have a pleasant neat person to look at. Having said that I would never look down on anyone who was too poor for an extensive wardrobe - heck my dear mom only had 2 dresses when she was growing up. You and your outfits are so darn cute - enjoy your awesome figure and great sense of style. You look kinda boring in that black cardigan uniform.
I like to look nice but I'm not into fashion either plus wearing the same outfit a few days in a row is no big deal for me, EXCEPT that, here in FL...in the summer it's not a good idea to wear the same shirt every day...lol. This summer I put together somewhat of a uniform which consists of: (1) 4 long-sleeve 100% cotton shirts made in India - each a different color; they have gorgeous but subtle embroidering on the shirts which add detail without being flashy. (2) crinkling slacks - 100% cotton; 1 beige, 1 black (3) 3 prs. of shoes: 1 very casual for everyday; 1 pr. white with beige trim "boat" type loafers; 1 pr. black pointed-toe with small heel (4) This is new this summer and I "stumbled" on the look on a bad hair day: 4 bandanas, each one accents one of the 4 shirts. My hair is very straight/medium length with layers that, no matter how much I curl it, etc., as soon as I step into the FL humidity, it goes straight again. Sooo...I fold the bandana-of-the-day into a wide headband and tie it underneath my hair. It looks fashionable PLUS keeps the sweat off my face!
So, my uniform is a pair of slacks, an India-look cotton top, bandana headband, one of three shoes. I accessorize with large hoop earrings and sometimes a watch or Indian bangle bracelets. I've worn this look to the grocery and to church and always get compliments. It's not the exact same shirt every day but close and I love the look.
Actually I had a red sweater that I wore alot. My bf told me his friends said I wore it too often. I was sort of traumatized by that. I actually wore the sweater out.
Well I almost do this every day, school uniform, and 4 others not that hard and no one really knows.
Omg she has a dagne dover tote! Its so beautiful!
5 days dancing for a short day ... that makes you happier!
I'm currently going through the process of getting rid of my clothes - I've also had a revelation of the unnecessary amount of clothes I have. I don't wear so many things!
lol. It's not going to work if it's not in the personality. The thing with Steve Jobs and Mark Z is that they probably don't give a fark about what they wear. It works and it's easy for them. They're not in the fashion industry and they don't expect themselves to dress up everyday. They're comfortable and confident in their own skin to do so. The president basically goes down the business suit route because it's just sensible. For all I know, most corporate have a suit as their uniform anyway.
Wow you do have a lot of clothes and they're cute too!
I only keep a certain amount in my closet once I notice it's getting difficult to keep organized I donate as much as possible to goodwill, my favorite place to shop also :)
I think you've made THE MOST relatable video ever. I actually want to try this!!
Project 333 and Capsule Wardrobes are very smart :)
We wanna see Lucy's twin sister!
Wow I just discovered this channel and I love the concept! Honestly I feel you, I don't care that much about fashion either, I wish somebody can dress me everyday! 😂
why didn't I find this awsome channel before 😒... It's beautiful 😍😍
Thanks for sharing 👍
I set my clothes out each night when I work, every piece from pants & shirt to sock and under garments. I wear the same shoes to work each day also. Didn't know there was such as thing as decision fatigue.
I like this show
I wouldn't be able to wear the same t-shirt that long. No matter how strong the antiperspirant, the t-shirt smells after a day of wear, and of course theAP builds up into an almost unmovable stain if not washed off every time. I can wear jeans for a week or two easily before they need a wash, though.
5 days of no shaving I saw this one video where these girls didn't shave for 5 days or a couple days more but and they realize something that it doesn't matter if you shave or not because like you said no one's going to remember did you shave or if they're not going to think about that so I think that's a good way to learn more stuff so that's my thing that I want to tell you that if you want to try it out
I already do this Mon-Fri. Too much stress to think of what to wear in the morning and I am not the type of person to plan this before hand. Save that for the weekend when I have time. I use to worry about what people may think at work if I wear the same thing but I've been inspired by both Obama and Mark Zuckerberg to wear the same thing! I then have extra time to do other things such as eat breakfast :D
You made me chuckle!!!
I have the same shirt! Love this series ❤️🌵
Five days of a soup cleanse!! (Since Juice cleanses are so last month)
So jelly on how amazing your skin is!
Even I have a similar cactus print top! 😍
Your tips help everything!!!
Power 2 u. I do it all times. Bravo.
I am so grateful that I wear scrubs to work 😊great video!,
I've honestly thought about giving myself a, "uniform," many times before. I am a total fashion girl and LOVE getting dressed up every day, but I think there may be something to this idea. I mean, imagine all the things I could be accomplishing if I wasn't worried about what I wore yesterday, or how long I could go until I wear my favorite skirt and top combo again...hummm.
Do a 5 days without washing your hair video or 5 days without breakfast :) :P
+Solution There are plenty of people who do both of these things. Not everyone's hair needs to be washed 2 times+ a week
Deciding what to wear every morning can be tiring but it's also fun, I can't keep wearing the same clothes everyday that's why I hate uniforms also if I wear the same thing every single day I get bored of my self my look and I need to refresh and wear something different the next day, plus spending a whole day in jeans and a T , you know they gonna smell(sweat)or at least have wrinkles or some sort of shape to them, so I either wash or let them breath ... Anyway that doesn't sound like a fun project for me.
I love going to the movies alone. The people I have gone with in the past always feel the need to tell me something I already know while watching the movie or give their own input on a scene/actor, etc. Ugh. Oh yea, I also wear the same shoes until they are worn out.
Thanks! This video made me undestand I don't need more clothes
1. Do you really have a twin sister?
2. Where can I get that glossy floral skirt you wore with a black top?
Very useful! Babe! Love it 😍
So proud of you. Great experiment. 😘
thanks Lucie. i learned something new..
i love your channel, really creative
She is right there was this girl at my school and people commented on her outfit and she was like I've been wearing this for 2 days and everyone laughed because they didn't even notice
Swap lives with your twin sister for the day! That would be so funny! x
I love her eyes so much I wish mine looked like that
5 days of working out in the morning and at night !
i have the same shirt as her in the intro
