How do you guys prep for a vacation? Comment below!
Refinery29 well during vacation. I wake up and pack up eat well and sleep well. Then next day this will continue. That's all my vacation is end already
Refinery29 I don't sleep or wake up early so I can sleep on the plane lol
1 .I usually just dump every single thing I want to take on my bed.
2. I turn on my most unfriendly mode of myself and minimise everything down, so that I'll have enough space in my bag.
3. I just fold everything up (doing the roll:D) so that I can then squeeze it all in :D.
- Btw, you really inspire me to do all sorts of things, trying out new hobbies ect, and thank you for being such a positiv spirit and for always having a smile on your face! I really enjoy watching your videos!!

Packing cubes! Takes your packing to an even higher expert level. Trust me. I backpacked through Thailand and would not have made it without them 🤗
contrasting pro tip: if you can find space to shove ur tennis shoes in the suitcase DO ITTT your life will be much easier!!! wear flip flops or slides so that when u go through TSA you can slide them off and on easily as heck also you’re not going to stuck in uncomfortable shoes on the flight u can just slip off ur slides without having to worry about sneaker smell 💕💓

you can also pack your socks in your shoes to save space and maintain the shape. I get extra fruit/veggie bags from the grocery store and keep my shoes in those bags so it doesn't dirty my clothes

Lucie! I have a flying/airport hack! If you bring a carry on backpack always have at least one outfit in it because once my big suitcase got lost at the airport and I had no clothes to change into and I had spilled my drink on the airplane so I wanted to change so badly but had no colthes

LOL, after catching bad colds from flying the past few years, I’m the same way now with the antibac wipes. There’s nothing worse than being sick away from home. I also like to wear a silk scarf on flights. I pull it over my nose if I think my resistance is low.
I'm leaving in a week and after seeing this video, I know I too can make it with just my carry on. Thanks, Lucie!

Girl I totally get you. I bought these things called packing cubes which will take your packing to the next level. I got mine a set of 10 for $10 but they range from all different sizes and prices. Try it :)

I recommend:
• Sun blocker level +50 in dry season or rain season (for gringo white skin and special for kids)
• mosquito repellent
• Install waze app on your phone instead of google maps (it works better in Costa Rica)
• Never put your phone in your back bag of your backpack (mochila)
• Always ask for Salsa Lizano for your lunch and breakfast
• Don't let your baggage open in your hotel room
• it is better to use t-shirt than tank top (for avoid the sun burn)
• eat a "chifrijo" and drink a "chiligüaro".
So appreciated sister’s wipe down, cuuuz I had latex gloves on + everything and my family made fun of me! She validated that a proper wipe down is vital to the flying experience!! 🙌🏼 P.S. Tell sister they make disposable seat covers too! 😉 I sho did get em for my family of 4!

Minimilism packing and packing cubes
I definitely do that! I pick out pieces that all coordinate together, and I'm absolutely obsessed with packing cubes! When I was going to school across the country, they were a lifesaver whenever I traveled home. You can instantly see what you're working with and you never have to dump out your entire suitcase to find things.
Can't wait til part two. Y'all are so lucky to be on a beach meanwhile nj/ny has a noreaster. I need to learn some packing skills like this.

I’m leaving for Costa Rica early Monday morning
I went on a European cruise for 15 days and used a suit case smaller than yours!
Ugh all of the bikinis and outfits are cuteeeee!!😫💖💖 I would never be able to wear then with my body type, but OMG I love seeing other people looking and feeling good in cute outfits!!
i pack what ever first, when the trip is booked. then i eliminate and repack. a month later i do the same. then i do another repack a couple weeks b4 and and then i do i final pack so i know where stuff is and make final cuts on outfits.
however my cousin from Europe went to university in california a couple seminars. she only brought a carry on size case. clothes are versatile dresses not so much. she brought 6 tops two pants and three shorts/skirts
it comes down to how minimal vs how materialistic you are.
