    Wow this video is a late bloomer I guess lol. But hey, I super appreciate you watching this!!
    A few notes since so many of the comments are asking the same questions:
    -I don’t know why I didn’t mention the Spazer Beam combo either sorry. I said all the beams have combos, but only showed three of them. We'll call it an oversight while editing the script.
    -If you're asking "why didn't you include [blank technique] in the video?" the video itself and description state "here's some of the techniques" and "here's three techniques". At no point do I claim that these are *all* of the game's hidden moves, just a few for people to get started with if they're just getting into the game.
    -I mentioned that a lot of these moves aren't superbly useful or some of them being outclassed by normal item pickups. Many people have corrected me saying these can be quite useful during speedruns or randomizers. That's fair, but when I said that I was really talking about during a normal, casual play through of the game.
    -I absolutely should not have said the game is “free” since it’s really locked behind a subscription. That was just a poor choice of words. My b. Sorry.
    -Sorry that the sound of my voice upsets some of you. You'll just have to deal with that.
    Thanks again for watching folks! I appreciate it.

      @@CaptBurgersonAwesome video, but a liiitle incomplete. The techniques aren't mandatory casually but speedrunwise, they sometimes are not an option, but a necessity. The wave beam charge combo, known in the community as X-Factor, is the best way to quickly deal with bosses, but its really hard to aim right. Well-timed crystal flashes make it possible to do reverse boss order. Still, very entertaining video

    • @Snacker6
      @Snacker6 6 місяців тому +3

      I did want to mention there is a point right at the end of the game where the Crystal Flash is appropriate to use. Without giving away spoilers, it is where you are drained of all your health and then left that way. You do have to manually use your reserve tanks in order to do that, as they are not drained automatically in that scene
      Though it is still useless, as there is a place to recharge your energy right after that, but it is still fun

      Your voice upsets people? Shameful to write something like that. :D
      I consider your voice and clear pronunciations comfortable. Otherwise, I wouldn't have kept watching all the dungeon analyses.

    Great video! You forgot the spazer charge beam combo which makes sparks circle around Samus and then rain down. I think you’re right the wave beam combo is most versatile. Crystal Flash is really cool but I feel like it’s rare you would be less than 50 health AND in a safe spot to use the technique.

    When shinesparking horizontally, make sure you HOLD A, and then immediately hold left or right. Pressing the direction first results in a somersault, while letting go of A before pressing the direction just results in an upwards shinespark.

  • @GarryDumblowski
    @GarryDumblowski 9 місяців тому +38

    Some important notes I'd like to point out:
    - Samus has no IFrames during a Crystal Flash. If an enemy walks into you, you'll take an absurd amount of damage, and the healing most likely won't be able to make up for it.
    - I always struggled with horizontal Shine Sparks as a kid, so if you're struggling, try this: If you hold A instead of tapping it, Samus will hover in the air for a brief moment before launching. If you press forward during this time, Samus will launch forward. This is also helpful for trying to initiate Sparks in mid-air, which you can do by pressing R during a spin jump (though you have to let go of it before you try to spark)

It is very important that A be pushed (and held) before. Note that this doesn't apply to airborne shinespark. - - To perform Airborne shinespark, do a somersault while in charge and then, in the air, press Up and then quickly press (and hold) the direction or R then A.

    It’s not that you take damage while using the shinespark. Rather, the suit’s auxiliary power cannot cover the cost of the technique so power is drawn from the tanks normally used to repair the suit

      I’ve never heard this, so that’s interesting. That said, this is a semantics argument isn’t it? The end result, from a gameplay standpoint is the same. You lose health.

    I played this game when it was first released. I never discovered any of these. Back before internet everywhere you had to have a magazine subscription to Nintendo Power to get all the intel on features like this. Or a friend who did. Or trip over them by accident. If you had Forbidden Jutsu knowledge of a game you became a god on the playground for a few days. Now we can exist in a Schrodinger's box of knowing everything and nothing at the same time. I don't know if this was ultimately good or not.

    0:41 He says these moves aren't mandatory and are outclassed by some other items and equipment later. However if you play randomizer the beam combos are actually quite useful. I had a seed recently where I had to enter a room with two giant sidehoppers without any upgraded suits, and no E-tanks. I used the beam combo since I had power bombs, plasma beam, and charge beam. It was able to wipe out the sidehoppers without me getting killed since they would have easily taken me out in 1-2 hits, losing some progress. Crystal Flash is a rare one to need, but can be useful in a pinch. And I'm certain that assessment didn't apply directional shinespark which is frequently used by speedrunners and randomizer racers.

      @CaptBurgerson  7 місяців тому

      I wasn’t really taking randomizers into account when I said that, just thinking of the original game. And definitely shinesparking is always useful haha, you’re right about that
