Disconnect power. Remove the air bag fuses. Restore power. Crank it and drive. The body control module is soaked. It's under the driver seat. A mechanic will want to rep,ace the harness as well. If you pull it clean and dry it and the harness you should be fine. The ghosts in the machine will keep going. New cars can't handle the water intrusion.

@@cgunugc yes remove and replace all fluids including coolant. If you are "off roading" a vehicle. Rely on rolt cage and 5 point restraints not electronic inflatables. The air bag should have required weight in the seat, suspension compression, 15mph or more, and a impact on the bumper. System failure. The airbag if deployed will scare ya. Maybe a black eye. It should not break a nose. I would have disconnected the air bags and drove it home. Then again. I have never owned a car with airbags. Unless you count my mother and mother-in-law in the same car.

19:25 water got to modules under the seat and under the dash. Probably corroded a bunch of connectors too. Water inside the cab of modern vehicles destroys them. It might just be a mopar thing, but maybe look for one the next time you need to tow a waterlogged truck without risking an airbag to the face.

Also. Fill ur tank til it's full and the pump shuts off. Don't "top it off" manually yourself. Not only can you overfill and spill it, but it'll cause other issues to the charcoal canister, evap system, etc. Especially on older models.

My wife drove under. “When fuel light comes on fill up” in tank fuel pumps every 4 years. I hounded on it. “At half tank watch for cheap gas/fill at 1/4 tank fill even if $$$”. No more fuel pump replacement. It’s that easy. When I visited mom. I would bring 5 gallons of gas, or take her car to town for gas. If it got below 1/4 call me. (She drove 30 miles a week)

I'm glad the engineers that designed fuel systems that require that much fuel to keep the pump cool, haven't designed fuel systems for the vehicles I've owned. In all my years of owning vehicles and usually waiting until the tank is well below a quarter tank to refuel, I've never had a fuel pump problem. Although gas does help cool the fuel pump, it doesn't require a quarter tank or more to do so. As long as you have enough gas flowing through the pump, it's providing proper cooling.

@@Jim-bw8jo it’s just the limits I have set. Higher in winter. I am no longer involved with stuff. But in my life needing the ability to go hard 60+ miles without delay of fueling up has been known. It costs no more, often less to keep a few gallons instead of quarts in the tank. I have been blocked by closed roads in sub zero temps. A half full tank, winter clothing, blanket, chow…. Made it restful. (In half to 45 minute naps). Then start car, run heat 10 minutes…

Then as a final measure setup a house dehumidifier inside and seal up all the windows where the power cord comes in. It’ll suck out another couple gallons out of all the nooks and crannies. I submerged my Isuzu trooper years ago and the dehumidifier trick saved me. Good luck.
