Paul's dad's wrecker is an absolute beast.
454 will do that
Yeah man, grandpa Sherm’s wrecker is awesome
I agree
Sounds like a beast 💪
Definitely bro 💯
Dads know when vehicle’s are good
Imagine you get stuck and call for help and a 9 person film crew shows up
@@tplandes749 he got 2.1 million views dude don’t need too charge plus people buy his shirts and stuff so I mean
@@ryderpace3248 so you think he does this for free?>
@@-_-Code-_- No he can do these crazy jobs. cheaper and also doesn't care much about damage to the vehicle since he has multiple income source since he can also make videos about it.
Matt pulled me out of a swamp in 2018 and only charged me $810. It took almost an hour. I was very impressed.
@@ryderpace3248 take some of those shirts, hats, and beer cans. Stick those under your tires....
This was the most amazing recovery I’ve seen you guys do. Hats off to your team.
Absolutely insane rescue and Paul's dad built an absolute beast. Great job. Also, poor Jamie at Rudy's close call, lol. I hope he gave her a big hug after that.
I gasped out loud and scared my cat!!
If that was my Wrangler I'd leave the ding in the hood as a tribute to an epic recovery. Best battle scar ever.
Agreed. Epic recovery and the dent makes the story when you say go check out the video
Real jeepers think exactly like you! Damn right. Leave it
Yup, I'd even have him sign it!!!
If it was mine, I wouldn't have blown the frigging engine in the first place. Too many idiot Jeep owners out there.
Paul laughing manically as his front wheels are 4 feet in the air is the gnarliest
Whatcha get when you have to good o’l boys that have 30+ years combined of Demolition Derby driving under their belts, not including all the off-roading experience in between that.
I think Lizzie sums this up perfectly:
Right after the incident: “I just about had a freakin’ heart attack,” staring in disbelief.
After they got up and over the rock: “That was insane. Oh my gosh, that was FREAKIN’ INSANE!”
Damn, I didn't think I would be really into watching this, but you guys have turned this into an art. You are great at what you do. I love to see people who are functioning at the highest level in their craft... Much respect...

“If we do this perfectly, it's gonna be sketchy." That's when you know it's real sketchy
👍😆 U know it!
Boy was it ever!
That was sketchy AF
Im going to put that in a T-shirt
So much hope and assurance in those sentences.
And in MY sentence, soooo much sarcasm! 😂
i've noticed Ed has a knack for knowing when not to go on a rescue.
The weather wasn't favorable. ;)
There are old rescuers and bold rescuers, but no old, bold rescuers
He’s kinda a buzz kill
Rudy is really starting to grow on me as a "character" in this show -- and that was BEFORE he pulled out his keys to show how inclined they were. Epic!
Between my laughing and my wife’s screaming, we have a blast watching. So glad we found your channel. Stay safe!
These boys have no fear about sliding sidways on a cliff. And the ladies are saying "OMG". I'm sitting here saying " oh SHI T! And watching Michelle run up those hills is like she's 18!

That was amazing how well y’all pulled that off and fast too. Very nicely done
I would love to know how much that recovery cost the customer. I'm sure it was a massive bill and honestly it deserves to be, that was incredible!
Yeah I always wonder the cost because watching the videos they kinda give you the impression it's free cause they never mention the cost at all idk why out of all the videos I've watched they never say a word about the Bill
They don't mention the costs for many reasons, there is a video a couple years ago that he discusses why. If you figure the rigs are at least $100/hour, a recovery like this with multiple rigs taking a few hours you can start to get the picture. It also varies if it is just a matter of getting back to tarmac, or all the way back into town.
@@reuben2002 Makes sense. I’m sure it costs a fortune in most every case. 😂
I used to Jeep a ton in Moab and St George and I always knew in the back of my mind that I was driving $50,000 around and that it could be wiped away at any wrong move. We worry primarily about rolling, and so anything less than that is happy bad fortune. Busted engine, busted knuckle (which happens to this Jeep months later), etc, those are affordable fixes and the $1000 it might take to recover the vehicle is just part of the cost of having fun.
@@davidswanson5669 very well put
i felt Jamie's panic when she thought Rudy was about to somersault down the hill
@oldhp mopar i know that is what i meant she handled it quite well i think definitely scary to see some thing like that am glad it did not somersault down the hill
"I think we're going to get it done, I just don't know what's going to happen between now and when we get it done" - Matt 2021.
And that pretty much sums up why I watch this channel!
This may be one of the motivations for the development of the heavy duty wrecker. Seems like Matt took all of his past experiences and built the perfect recovery vehicle. I just started watching this channel a couple of months ago and am watching the in reverse order. This is the best channel on youtube. Constant level-headed, complex problem solving without any drama. Class Act!!!
One of the best recovery team by far bar none!!!
Instant mom reaction when the baby xj lifted a tire
"That's to much for me"
Man that Wrangler pushed all those trucks up the rocky hill with just its rear tires.

Yup, nothing staged here.
agree 100%
Totally agree ! If u haven’t seen the FabbRats version - it’s totally awesome too !!! And different !!!
Usually when the first words are ,”I’ll go get my dad’s truck.” It doesn’t end nearly as well. Well done.
That was absolutely insane, all of you guys seriously are the best in your field. The amount of skill, coordination and communication is beyond me. Can't wait for the heavy wrecker to be finished for jobs like this one!
This is one of the finest displays of technical rock crawling extant.
That ding in the hood is a badge of accomplishment, they should leave it as a conversation piece!! That’s one hell of a job!!!
I had the same thought! I'd keep it if it were my Jeep.
My thoughts as well...it will have a heck of a story to tell before during and after.
Hell yeah and put a Matt's recovery sticker next to it
Agreed!!
Just fit a decal that says Ouch.
"This hood is going to go on the wall of my garage, with a little sign under it, that says this hood was scratched by the tow truck of Paul's dad"
get the team to sign it
Isnt that like all the profit right there or is the profit on this recoveries more than I think? Paying Rudy, and Lizzie, camera people are another business, Matt's expenses and time, Fab Rats' involvement and expenses, this kind of recovery could easily be worth more than a cheap junker's book value just lost in the woods, but that profit would only be a couple replacement hoods worth, right? so one hood could be 30%-50% of the profit gone right there if it indeed needs to be fully replaced.
Or does Matt's insurance take care of the hood? How does it work?
@@paddington1670 I had a friend stuck in the mud, in the woods, once. The truck driver was responsible for ZERO damage from the recovery is what he had to sign. I would think it would be the same for a recovery this far back in such a bad location. You hire the people with the best Reputation and trust they will find a way to get it out with no or minimal damage. The hood can be banged back out so it mostly won't look too bad. I can't imagine Matt would be liable but not sure how he does it or what Utah law is. I am in SC. My buddy had some other 4x4 ers try to help first. They ripped his front bumper off. The recovery cost $250 if I remember it correctly but we were only 1/2 mile off a main road, just very stuck. 4 Wheel drive but no lockers, in deep mud. I warned him, he drove there anyway.
@@paddington1670 The camera people in this video are not Matt's regular videographers. Doesn't mean he's not paying them or anything like that though. Michelle is Paul's wife (Fab Rats), Trevor and Lizzi already work for Matt at Winder Towing.
@@batsonelectronics this was avoidable damage though, the wrecker arm had farther to raise and wouldnt have hit if it were raised to capacity, not to blame them, im sure id make the same mistake but still as the vehicle owner i wouldnt be impressed with that damage if my bill didnt reflect it.. would i want a new hood no.. but a few hundred off the bill that im sure is close to or over 4 figures yes
some damage is unavoidable, like if a honda civic is at the bottom of a canyon with every route having rutts and rocks thatll rip its bumpers apart its kinda too late.. but then again thats what trailers are for
Audience, I'm a 2010 Jeep 4 door owner, and that was the best video I just watched in 2022. It was really amazing how the tow recovery team managed to connect the dots with a killer load and pure apprehension work of art 🤜🏼🤛🏼🙌🏼. Great Workmanship!!!

Please don’t get bought out by Discovery, or the Outdoor Channel. Y’all have my attention start to finish, right here!
I 100% agree. I'd be so bummed. They'd turn it into some Desperate House Wives for Men show like West Coast Choppers, Duck Dynasty...ex.
They probably wouldn't pay them what UA-cam does anyway. And I agree, they'd force them to script things. I prefer the off the cuff style of MORR! I watch and like every single video. Never a miss!
Money will determine that factor at the end of the day a tv contract may pay more
This is the most real action on UA-cam. Crazy, crazy...cannot really believe some of these recoveries.
Just got turned onto the channel recently for vids like this...
Dad's Wrecker has just the right amount of lope off-idle, sounds like the engines my own dad's friends used to drive up to the house when I was a kid in the '70s and '80s... and pulled a dead-weight JK up a 30º rock face covered in microscopic ball bearings like it could do it all day...
Classy carry-a-big-stick, old-school work truck...

@Highway rambler I totally agree
That's what you call collateral damage if that was my jeep I would be glad it was just out of there.
@Highway rambler what did the wrecker do that they couldn’t have accomplished simply by pulling it out behind them like normal?
@@doublezero7852 .. i guess it would have been almost impossible to control the dead jeep going downhill & the weight of the dead jeep on the wreaker gave it the extra traction to get back up hill
@@doublezero7852 the jeep had a blown engine... which means it had no power steering. That would have made a flat tow up and down those grades even more dangerous.
