I will never get over Paul not getting a Tony nomination for his stunning turn as Jesus. I saw the show in Stratford before it moved to Broadway and he was absolutely incredible.
Why on earth did they not make an album recording with this cast? That was a big missed opportunity.
It was indeed. Perhaps they thought it was too soon after they recorded the UK Arena tour with Ben Forster and Tim Minchin the same year. You aren't the only one though, after the Broadway run ended fans made a petition requesting a cast album. Sadly nothing was ever released.

Yeah John Legend just doesn’t have the range for this role. Could they really not find ANY mainstream singer (which they didn’t have to find) who had the range?
Brendon Urie would’ve been perfect for that show! He’s been on broadway, has the range, a missed opportunity

It's too plain and every note is on the beat which takes away all of the human emotion the performer is supposed to portray. This sounded more like a dress rehearsal before the director/actor decided on how to actually sing it that made you feel something.
