Times have changed because people started making it a sick topic of an older man with a younger girl. Back in the early 30's and 40's Girls 14 were getting married to men that were in their 50's and 60's and it was no big deal and happened a lot. Back in the 1800's Girls 12 years old were getting married to guys that were in their 30's and 40's and having babies and again believe it or not that was normal. My Dad was 42' Dating a 17 year old and when she turned 18 they got married. My sister was 18 and was dating a man 65 years old. Age is nothing but a number. People wish to have control over other people. People hate the fact others can be happy and wish to do nothing but make them unhappy.
Odd how people think how sick it is for a girl to be 18 and dating a 60 year old man even though that man can take care of her all the way. But when a couple 14 year old's date and the girl gets pregnant they call the girl names and think nothing of it because they are the same age knowing they can't afford to bring the baby up and will need the teen couple's parents to help all the way. I see it like this if they are happy and both agree and want it then so be it. No one has the right to judge others. There are still some places that the age of consent is 14. The people that feel it is wrong or just sick they are the one that has the problem. The people dating are not having the problem. If the couple are happy deal with it or move on with your own life.

There’s a lot else to say. The Philippines is short of a lot of quality men. Guys often just impregnate girls then leave and provide nothing. A western man with financial stability to an average Filipina is the same as an average American girl dating a Hollywood star. Robert De Niro just had a baby at the age of 80… Women look for their best option everywhere in the world but obviously for a Filipina, most of us look like a millionaire. You can do the same thing anywhere in the world if you stand out that much from the rest of the country.
I disagree with the green card thing. Most Filipinas especially the one in the province have no idea what the US is like and they generally like their province. They just want a better life. They want you to build a small house for their family and provide. Maybe some Filipinas working in a higher jobs, bank managers, etc would wanna go for the green card but generally they won’t be a typical “old expat date”

Hey Tom. I'm one of these old dudes. I'm 63 n Liza is 32. We are in a serious relationship since 2014. 2 years chatting on Fb n then I flew to Cebu in March 2017. Started visiting Philippines in the 1990's as a 40 year old man. Young and very young "nice" Filipinas were very interested in me then. Today in my late 60's although I look younger not much attention from Filipinas under 40. That's good with me as I've been very happy with my Filipina wife the past 25 years.
Tom, my wife says very few Filipinas would accept a 30 or 40 year old age gap today unless they were poor and single mother with more than one child. In that case an old guy could have a serious happy relationship with a younger Filipina who would truly love and care for him, if he treated her and her children well. We've seen this it's not uncommon.
My opinion is an older guy would be much better off with an older Filipina of less than 20 year age gap. We have a number of friends here in the US with under twenty year age gap in wonderful marriages.

For me right now i find it weird when your girlfriend/wife her parents are much younger than the husband. I'm 60 and I see how the dating works as I'm not time pressured, the financial benefits an older person are good when you're here, but if you go back to your country, the temptations are great. Things have changed greatly with social media and internet, even since pandemic things are changing a lot, their expectations are increasing, it's not like a western guy can turn up and find ' province girl ' . They have smart phones in the province.
@@rickb7225 generally the dating opportunities grow as you get further from the city area. I was there twice for a short vacation. Tinder seems to be an easy way, but I met girls from Facebook also. I don’t have experience about successful long term relationships however I did meet a nice province girl thru a friend I just didn’t feel the chemistry.

I agree with social media and internet changing them but keep in mind their life circumstances did not change that much and the Philippines just got way more expensive recently with airfares and cost of living. So yeah they can get influenced by western mentality but expectation is always based on supply demand. And in the province it will be very hard to find successful and providing men especially among locals.

I'm 60 now, but when I was 58 I went out with 22yr old girl in the Philippines one time and that was enough for me! I don't look that old and I'm 6'4" and in good shape and I know over the years I've always been with attractive women. I'm not trying t[ toot my own horn I'm just putting thing in perspective. First off she was interested in me I looked at her as a very young woman. When I went out with her I immediately felt like an old perverted and was actually embarrassed for myself. She was a 10 out,of 10, extremely attractive and tall for a filapina, 5'8". The real problem for me is educational level. Thats the same problem in australia. But if you never had a choice then you might as well choose someone commited and sexy instead.
