Detailing wrong, but it WORKS | Porsche 944 real life Ceramic

- Casey details the weird parts of the 1983 Porsche 944 with Avalon King Ceramic Coating while telling 80s pop culture stories. His technique would be considered wrong, but it still works and shows just what is possible when done right! Door handles, wind shield wiper arms, door jambs, and trim all looked gorgeous after the down and dirty detail job. The 1988 Volkswagen Scirocco and the 1979 Porsche 928 are used for comparison.

It seems everyone has their MacGyver hair cuts engaged. Well done men. Well done.
I'm doing the no shaving still quarantine is over :D
That needs to be a shirt: "MacGyver Hair Cut Engage"
Thanks. My MacGyver cut is a lot like yours.
My eighties vehicles...
(2) 1985 Chevy K5 Blazers
1986 Chevy K30 pickup
1984 Harsco M925
Macgyver...man that brings back memories...always wanted to weld with my swiss army knife...🤔🤔
Twenty minutes of an old man remembering the 80s, what could be better? 👍👍👍
Bro It's awesome how happy Casey makes the videos!
UA-cam whiners: "B-but Casey, the detailing is wrong!".
Casey: "Shut up, I'm the evil genius-racer here! Mr Owl and my orbital Death Ray says I'm dang right!📡🛰️⚡💀
😂👌
Huey Lewis and the news - Hip to be square is a gem hidden in the ages though 👌
Casey, you're a man after my own heart, and it's not because I grew up in the 80s too. It's because you're a freaking goofball like me and you're hilarious!
Just loving this guy and his channel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He nails his topics like a pro!!
This is exactly how i was with my car when i discovered meguires car care products. definitely going to try avalon kings when i'm ready to ceramic coat!
It looks good the way it is. You can't make an 80s aesthetic without OG 80s.
But with Avalon you can bring back old parts. Genius.
Dough DeMuro: Thiiiissssss!!!!
Casey Putsch: Yeaaasssssssss!!!!
Anyone else think casey should run for president 😂😂
I remember on my Scirocco the owners manual said to use baby oil on the door seals. Oh, I sent you the tapes, did you try the cassette player cleaner? I'm going to have to buy that sealant, because the Viper looked amazing. The 944 looks brand new.
I would say this is the best use for this product so many people have cars with faded plastic!
Keep up the awesome vids! Thanks!
Glad you like them!
@@CaseyPutsch dang it....now I'm hearing the clueless snob collector voice in my head now!...
I nearly choked myself
I Remember the 80s....I was more a transformers guy...red alert was always my favorite!
Excellent video Casey..! Very informative and I’m so impressed that I’m going to give this a try on my 89... keep up the great videos.
Looks great but is the paint around the 944's door handles lifting up (rust)?
Maybe just a poor masking job when it was repainted (handles left on)?
Looks like poor mask job/too much heavy paint build-up to this body guy.
Definitely not rust.
Looks totally awesome dude!!!!!
Great video. My Macgyver hair haircut is coming into form with the barber shops closed. STAY HEALTHY!!!
The handles are anodized from factory ,that's how the finish should be " Dull and gray " , Not glossy !
sickest car garage ever
I see why those Porsches aren't as loved as their 911 contemporaries but man I still want one.
Your sponsor should be thanking you, you just invented a whole new productline for them...ceramic plastic restorer, ceramic trim restorer etc etc...
I think you should find an unpainted front bumper to mount the light pod on. That bumper is too good to cut into
The Porsche is beautiful! Love the body on the car.
Love your videos! How has the ceramic coating worked out? I've read mixed things about ceramic coating on single stage paint. Some say due to the porous nature of single stage ceramic might be harmful. I know not to use the spray on stuff. If it worked out for you I'm going to buy the product you used in this video. Thanks!
Ive loved watching you experiment with this stuff! The giant rear spoiler on the scirocco... I wonder...
Well that will just about cover the fly by's
Very nice! Thanks!
Those muscles and biceps though Casey
Macgyver haircut engaged lmao.
I think Casey needs a photo sitting in his garage chair petting Mr Owl in one arm, with smoking pipe and a monocle, of course. 🤣👍

Go to three minutes
Automatic 'like' for "elite trust-fund-baby racecar drivers of today". 200% true and 0% talent behind them.
Ah, there is talent /behind/ them. Their mechanics have at least some level of proficiency.
I like that this is apparently sponsored??? But casey doesn't mention is till 7:30, before hand it's just "my sponsor" hahaha. Please keep it that way casey!
Avalon king! Use it on your paint! use it on your trim! Use it on your wife! use it on your life!
Rejuvenates! Recombobulates! Recirculates!
One time I heard this nasty loud hammering noise come from the engine. I just popped off the oil cap, put a few drops of Avalon King in there and voila! Silent running!
The Martin Baker ejector seat from an English Electric Lighting I have, still has the sheep skin seat pad on it, fact, sometime this guy doesn't know how on it he is.
lol , I was so the MacGyver fan.. great video , thanks.
i always loved the 928, i remember it from an 80's movie with aliens hehe
what is it with old Porsches and sheep skin seat covers? I just got a 78 928 came with sheep skin seat covers!
Took 16 minutes to say: "Hey, ceramic works well on trim."
Too funny
How many cars did you get with one bottle of the avalon king?
Glass cleaner works amazing on carpets change my mind
I seriously just quoted dammit that’s twice just as you were! My all time favorite movie. Any chance you’ll take the “new” Top Gun build bike to cbus when you get it done? I’d love to see it sitting next to the Batmobile.
Smart man making sure the wife’s door is done first
Lmao love it! Sheepskin seat covers only thing missing so far is a “ok boomer”
Yeah that's a pretty solid detailing tip. And you can expect it to last 3 months or more. I've never seen it work that well on plastics. Often the worst looking part on a car that old is plastics that just look sad.
They should sell the Avalon Kings at the Burger Kings.
As a professional detailer, this was a little hard to watch. At least you're trying to take care of your cars, which is admirable. I've seen some 2022 and 2023 vehicles come through in rougher shape.
I am concerned about the use of this on soft rubbers. Could it be doing more harm than good?
I want to know how long that stuff keeps looking good. I'm sure it'll be a long while, but show us when it starts to fade again. If you still own it.
Thats Pimp!... oh wait, Noice!
Does anybody know that the Porsche 944 timing belt fits a Toyota 4age? It's a legitimate link!
My Thunderbird could totally maybe probably not beat that Porsche, I'll race ya when my diff isn't blown! ;)
Anyone else use WD-40 to detail their engine bay? Just me? Okay 😂
Weren't you going to rally the 944.
The reason I love that car is because it looks freaking awesome.
Naw kid, you aren't old until you move your affections from your vehicles to your back scratcher.
....😭
Get yourself a REAL '80's car. Flat front or slant front Toyota Starlet.
It's a commercial...
Bill Carini Not actually. I was cleaning up my car and it was the proper step. I also did it incorrectly.
@@CaseyPutsch but it worked. And let's face it, it is pretty awesome. So it's OK to make a commercial about something that works even though you did it wrong!
Heya camera person...when he says "look at this" and points.....GET UP CLOSE to what he is pointing at! thanks. Management
In love with 80's paint jobs? The 80's were some of the most crappiest paint jobs due to changes in the paint formulas because of environmental concerns Ford had a major recall in the mid 80's on their reds and blues. 80's clear coat was awful especially on the hood!
