Try one of these 2 things. Format to FAT32 like I say or you might not have the actual bios file on the drive. Make sure it is the only file and not in a folder. Also, the bios is going to be the largest file size in the extracted folder that you downloaded. Sometime ppl grab the wrong file, thinking it was that one.

hi i built my pc like a week ago, and when i first booted it up it took me straight to the windows set up and i couldnt get bios up. i shut down and turned on and managed to click the ssd but i still cant get my bios up and im not sure how to go around this
Im assuming this method works with all msi motherboard? I have a msi mpg b550 that i have to flash si i can upgrade from a 1700x to a r5 5600x. Also do i flash the bios before or after upgrading the CPU
You have to flash it before unless your MB supports bios flash back. Meaning no cpu
@@PlanetKryos thank you very much. i'm new at this stuff. i finally did it. i can also tell you that your video was the easiest by a long shot on how to flash the bios! all the other videos said to rename this and to rename that put here put there, yours was so simple. again tyvm. and you have another sub!
So glad to hear my video helped. I guess I accomplished my goal. Keep building your confidence
@@PlanetKryos bios is updated but i have no sound? have you seen this happen before? thx
No. Probably an easy fix. Double check everything.
Thank for the video ❤️❤️❤️
Does this fix the gpu not reading or would that be something different?
What do you mean by not reading? BIOS will not fix gpu issues
Do you have to format the usb into a fat32?
Not all the time. If it works, it works. Older MBs will not see some of the other formats. Try it and see
I have an MSI b350m mortar motherboard with a bios v1.10, do i need to download all the previous bios updates or i can directly update to the latest one? I’m just double checking since i’m gonna use my b350 for my ryzen5 5600
Did you read the pinned comment
Is it strictly fat32 and under 16gb usb or no?
For the most part yes. But try it and if it work than great
I want to upgrade cpu from 2700 to 5900x on an MSI X470 gaming pro MObo , can I use the lastest bios update or a specific one?
Read the bios descriptions
So I have this same mb and I’m upgrading my cpu from Ryzen 53600 to ryzen 9 5950x do I have to flash bios??
Probably yes
so im pretty sure in on an old bios am5 x670e tomahawk Wi-Fi motherboard... when I initially turn on my pc i get a dram and boot light on my mobo but after about 30 seconds both lights go out and my monitor turns on and everything works just fine do you think i should update the bios or just let it be
I like my bios up to date but you don't have to unless needed
does updating msi bios take care of chipset drivers? why would anyone update any other drivers beside the updated version of bios?
Do you need to unzip the file beforehand?
Always. I showed that in the video
I put the file into the usb and went into flash mode but the file isn’t there to click on to do the bios update
Fat32? 16GB or smaller?
I’m trying to do this now but m flash won’t let me select a file, I see the drive but when I click on the file it doesn’t show anything
Make sure u have the correct file and formatted in fat32. Try a different port
