Ivan, everything like your garden I grow in containers. Each year I am dumping the old soil out, refreshing it with compost from my worms and bins.
I don't get anywhere near as many slugs as I did before I changed the soil each spring. The slug eggs may be buried and die instead of chewing everything up. The weather has been cool, wet and rainy almost all spring, so I did expect a slug party, but nothing much to date.

I always drill holes about half an inch from the side if the pots don't have holes, then put in some pebbles etc, this leaves a little water in the bottom if the weather gets too dry,

Looking good Ivan! That's a great point about new pots & compost = no slugs. When I've hardened off deep-root trays before planting out, I noticed that the trays always end up with the nasty little slimeballs hidden underneath! I wash my pots & trays doubly carefully since noticing the danger before reusing for any more seed or young plants. 😈

Hi Ivan, everything looking amazing. Can I ask, where did you buy that white balcony pot . My daughter has a cat cage in her garden and they would be perfect for that. Thanks.
