Hi drew, I am Chukwubunnam From Nigeria and I Have been following your channel for over 7 years now when our church got an x32 and then an m32 and now a wing.
Please Drew can you do a video on how to record Multitrack via usb 48/48 on the wing.
My pc only recognises the 2/2 but when I switch to 8/8, 16/16 and 48/48, my pc cannot recognise it evwn with the latest wing usb driver installed and the console updated to the latest firmware.
Please a detailed video will help not only me but others in this situation out.
I know you are talking about Tom's here but please sir, if you can be kind enough to do this video, it will help us out a ton. Thank you Uncle Drew in anticipation for helping out as fast as you can 😢

If it sounds sharp and harsh you may want a super fast attack to control those transients on the compressor.
      1. Set compressor attack to fastest on cymbals or anything that sounds harsh. But keep attack on the slower side for kick and maybe snare.
      2. Make sure release is slower than 50ms on kick, and probably snare as well. But you can have fast release on higher pitched sounds.
      3. Dial in the threshold to control the peaks. Go as low as you need, you’ll have to use your ears to tune it.
      4. You can send all drums to 2 linked stereo buses and uncheck LR, then send the buses to LR. Now you can insert a compressor on the buses from the effects since you basically sacrificed the channel compressors. Try the LA-2A or LA-3A. (Can’t remember if X32 has 3A)
Generally, you probably want a slow attack and medium release. But fast attack when you need to control transients. Just make sure the release isn’t slower than 50ms, as that may distort the kick drum.
Since you said you’re using 57s, I’m assuming you’re not using electric drums. But if you’re using electric with only LR out, you’d have to do this with EQ. If the compressor didn’t do the trick you can also do this EQ trick.
      1. Select the highest EQ band. 2. If you don’t know what the trouble frequency is, set to high-shelf.
      3. Frequency 4K
      4. -3db to -6db. Probably around -4.5 max. -6db might sound too dark.
If you don’t wanna do any of that, just turn off the compressors and turn down the drums volume. The transients on the drums should cut through the rest of the band. This won’t sound as nice, but at least the peaks won’t hurt anyone’s ears.
Another option is to use saturation, but I can’t recall off the top of my head if the X32 has one. An exciter might work? I know X32 has exciters, but I’ve never played around with them. The idea is to add harmonics to the lower frequencies on the drums so the higher ones don’t stand out as much. Then you can lower the overall volume by a bit.
Anyways, the X32 is very limiting compared to what you can do with a DAW, or even a Behringer Wing. So don’t have super high expectations. Also, quality in, quality out. It may also be your drum kit. If the drum kit itself sounds bad, there’s not much you can do. But this reminds me, you can also try using a mic with a bigger diaphragm. The bigger the diaphragm, the less sensitive it is to fast transients. Which would in turn reduce harshness. This will most likely also sacrifice some clarity, but it might be worth it.
Another important thing is the drummer. If the drummer is bashing the crash, there’s not much you can do. If you look at a professional drummer like Steve Goold, he controls the cymbal hits which makes the audio engineer’s job way easier. So maybe politely ask your drummer to hit the cymbals lighter.
      I hope this helps.

So, what this ACCENT knob (13%) does in the GATE section?
