@@OfficialDropRateit’s definitely been known for a while now. Saebae talked about it months ago with the ring of stone. To be honest though.. I did not know it worked with other rings. But yes you’re right. More attention to this will probably bring it to jagex’s attention. Especially if people continue to find more uses for it.
@@krosherzMagic protection doesnt decrease freeze chance or accuracy, only damage. If you don’t wanna get frozen putting on augury should be ur priority
I tested out the ring at Sarachnis, and it's strong, but to actually see any benefit from it you need to time it well, and still need to pray range. It only saves I think max 2-4 ticks per entangle she does, since the transform and back itself takes 2 ticks to perform. It's definitely not broken, and requires skill to use. I'd love to see an official stance from jagex about allowing it.
i think the general rule of thumb is that the players effort times skill should equal the rewards. Pray flicking for example requires timing to the enemies attacks or constant double clicking in rythym and although it's a powerful effect it requires attention, game knowledge and skill when managing other mechanics. This little qwerk is a lot less powerful than infinite prayer but requires at least one inventory slot, skill and game knowledge to save a little time/damage. ideally it would be attributed to the ring of stone and rare transform itemss as the ring of stone is quite the let down compared to the other onyx jewelry
Thematically, it makes sense that if a boss has you entangled in a web or roots or such, that morphing your shape could help free you from the restraints. So you can definitely argue this is not "unexpected behaviour"
keep it for whatever it currently works on, no reason to nerf sarachnis or hespori etc for new bosses they can code it to not work, like they did with duke room.. although i dont think getting stuck and having to wait is a fun game mechanic anyways, gameplaywise its terrible unless the attack is avoidable somehow
@@juice6521It doesn't really skip a mechanic as much as buy you some time, but we'll have to see if there's any more obvious uses for the tech that *could* be game-breaking. I can't see it being as fundamentally game changing as tick eating or even prayer flicking unless Jagex adds snares to every other enemy in the game. That being said, who knows. Maybe people find it's actually busted on a new boss or something, idk. I think the fact that the new enemies have a built-in protection are a sign that it's not going to be exploitable on new bosses. Ultimately, modern bosses *ARE* built around the ring. The newest/hardest raid bosses are totally immune to it. It has some niche uses, but nothing that would warrant totally patching it.
I think if it's preventing *any* future boss from having an ensare mechanic, sure. Change the rings, prevent their use in boss arenas, whatever. But if the new ensares are coded in a way to avoid the ringtech, then fuck it, let those rings work the way they do in the limited use cases they have. Honestly, It'd be an interesting mechanic for a future boss (or bosses) to have mechanics that are uniquely skippable with the right item(s). Being able to bypass a specific phase of a newer boss without actually ending the fight or trivializing it because of a reward from a previous tier of raid would be awesome.
Broooo chill I’m close to drop rate for pet at sarcnis using this. I hope this video doesn’t make them nerf it too soon. Sae bae did one too and I was like nooooooo
cool thing lots of people dont know: if you run a certain distance from ur frozen target, youll unfreeze them, the distance is as far as a bowfa reaches.
I really like this! I think this is ok for all the bosses it currently affects, and I think they should intentionally design content around it. Ring of stone isn't horrible to obtain, so I think it's fine that holiday items give you the same affect... Maybe jagex could add more items with a similar effect that can be obtained normally?
I don't think its bug abuse, but it is not intended, though what they can do is leave it in for the current bosses and use that new freeze for newer content like the duke one but the problem is as you stated, it hasn't been fully explored yet, it could lead to other bigger forms of bug abuse if there indeed is other uses for it.
Only time & investigation will really show how powerful/exploitable it is, but so far it doesn't seem nearly as OP as prayerflicking or even just tick manipulation.
Makes me wonder if anyone has tested the ring in PvP situations. It could replace mithril seeds in the meta if it works against player-cast Ice Barrage spells. ALSO, I'm not sure it's necessarily Bug Abuse. The interaction between Mithril Seeds and the ice barrage spell was also an unintended interaction - you use Mithril Seeds to escape the freeze effect. Rather than patching it and banning anyone who has used it, Mithril Seeds are now given to people in the LMS minigame.
I think it opens up new engaging way to create content and add what's essentially an ability in the nature of rs3 while maintaining the osrs game design. However I do think this in it's current state should be fixed but that jagex can add this ability to a real game item in the future.
It has a limited number of applications on bosses that aren't particularly difficult. I'd say Jagex should leave it in. It makes some niche items have a use other than just showing off.
one thing that annoys me about all the new content is that there seems to be a reliance on chip damage to add a level of difficulty, I do not think this ring is an issue because I believe all damage should be avoidable if the player has the correct level of skill or equipment and this just sounds like a counter to a mechanic.
I don't see an issue. As stated, you're clicking more, focusing more, and using your brain/time to be more efficient. That should equal rewards more quickly. It's not game-breaking, and it's really fun to use. It's not necessary or broken. Same as tick-manipulation or prayer flicking. I say - let it ride. Like it has been. For 20 years.
This is just playing smart, not abuse. LIke abuse sounds more likes things you harm others with. Like stalling animations to PK others easy that kind a shit is abuse but this is more like getting rewarded for you being smart, and you dont harm anyone.
Nah its legit. Did the sarachnis combat tasks using this. It also makes sarachnis braindead as you just pray melee and use the ring to skip ranged attacks
Lets be honest this is just janky af, the positive reaction to it in the comments is emblematic of a bigger problem for the game right now in my opinion. I think it boils down to the fact that players in PVM don't really have many interesting mechanics to play with that they control. The new bosses in the game have interesting mechanics and attacks for sure, but at the end of the day the game play loop for every boss is basically the same. Switch prayers accordingly so you don't get killed in 1 or two attacks, walk off the hazard tiles when floor hazards pop up and make sure you are auto attacking when you are supposed to be. The new prayers really could have helped give the player more agency over how they wanted to fight a boss but sadly they were only added into leagues. I'd love to see items introduced into the game that function in a way similar to this though, Like having useful active items with effects that the player has to make a choice between using on a cool down.
You can complete the fight caves combat achievement without prayer flicking. Just proper safe spotting and tick-eating. The conversations then shifts to whether or not tick-eating is bug abuse.
Saying "fuck it" because they don't know how to solve a problem is like peak Jagex. Prayer flicking and Tick Manipulation are pure bullshit and ruin the game for sane humans but they're now core to the game because Jagex couldn't reasonably fix it. This thing is less of a huge deal, but it's wrong for all the same reasons. And I fully expect Jagex just lets it be because they don't give a damn about this kind of thing.
