To be honest, a card like this is pretty cool in consept Sits in your hand and transforms stuff into something else Replace knights with something more reasonable like coneheads or something, and make the card itself really weak so if you want to stop the transforming, you have to play a weak minion
At 14:29, if you go frame by frame with < and >, you can see for a single frame a star appeared, which is all that the kite flyer showed before the knight came in. A few frames later, you can even see the gold card background behind the knight as it pops out!
having a bug fixing patch in a week feels nice, for all we knew the game could have not been bug fixed for months or even years, despite somehow messing other cards in the process still means that they are trying to fix the game and not leave it as the mess it is in, so maybe this one will also not last long and the community now has the responsability to not play king while they fix it to make the game enjoyable for others Thanks again Janitor for doing your best, go make this game better! ❤

Before I saw this, I saw a picture of a board, full of knights and a text “game braking glitch”. My understanding was that the glitch was the king turns himself into a knight. This was the first time I saw it, and I was flabbergasted.
I didn't know about the glitch until you tried it, so decided to mess around with it myself with a deck I cobbled together. It was just a simple budget sports deck with my 2 copies of king in it over 2 copies of Lurch. One thing I didn't realize would happen though was that the moment king enters your hand and you play any minion, EVERY minion turns into a knight. I had an Arm Wrestler on heights and a Mascot in 4, then when I played a Chimney Sweep in 2 after drawing a king at the start of the turn and the Mascot turned into a knight, then after it turned into one the Wrestler and Chimney Sweep transformed at the same time. This game is not bugged and very balanced :]
yeah, I think king straight up activates when ANYTHING happens. I was playing offline with 2 zombies on the board when I finally drew king. I passed the zombies turn and the plant hero passed as well, and when I played a trick, lo and behold, my board became knights. In fact, I wonder if the AI passed because it could simulate options and knew that anything it did would spawn knights (but that's like 5 layers of speculation that I don't even fully believe).
@DvH_2 At this point I’m really curious how this bug even came to be since King wasn’t really changed, at least in terms of his ability. Only thing I can think of is they somehow accidentally removed the “end of turn” condition so his ability is always active whenever the boardstate updates
@ There's a video of someone who looked into the original balance changes to demonstrate how easy it is to fix the bugs, and your idea definitely seems possible. From what I can tell, abilities pass through checks before activating, so without that, it probably does just ping every time anything happens
I think the reason why the other zombies waited for the water lane to transform (see 21:25) might be one of two things: A. The zombie had an on play ability B. The game might be coded in a way that if you have a zombie create another zombie and then both get transformed, the last played gets transformed first.
To all players, if you are playing against a king's deck just make sure to not click the "next turn" button and wait so you can waste their time. If you aren't having fun by them then why should you let them have it?

I had no idea about the bug. At first I thought King's ability would activate at the end of each turn, even from your hand. Turns out it was actually somehow much worse than that.
My first match since the bug fix had me lose because Professor Brainstorm conjured the King with his superpower. All of his cheap cards that would have normally been useless against my strategy started turning into knights! It was a stupid comeback. In one turn he was using his conjuring and card drawing spam deck to summon four Knights.
I was playing as wall knight the other day with a nuts + pecanolith deck before I knew of the king glitch The rust bolt i was against was passing every turn, and I was just spamming nuts wondering "why hasn't this guy played a card yet?" On turn 6 he played Teacher, 2 paparazzi zombies and one other 1 drop. I was like "ok bro what is this" Then during zombie tricks they played 2 cost going viral (because of teacher) After he drew the card and all of a sudden his ENTIRE FEILD TURNED INTO KNIGHTS. 🤯 I couldn't believe my eyes and was like "why hasen't fry ever mentioned this?????" My theory is the going viral drew the king causing them all to transform. But don't worry I had wall nuts in every lane at that point and had a doom shroom in hand. I ended up winning that game. 😎
The fact that they're still working on the game is so exciting, despite those bugs which are probably due to them having nearly no game testing capabilities. Can't wait to see what decks Fry comes up with!
@Wasser_Saft right, but! he did it for one stream, and refuses to abuse it anymore out of respect these people, though, only care about winning, and thus would use these bugged cards as long as they're bugged because it provides immense advantage. And if you think "oh but what if they want to have fun too" - we're talking about RANKED matches - you can abuse bugs all you want in standard matches, because it doesn't hurt other player's ranking if you win unfairly

I was playing against HG with a chompzilla deck with no environments, and he does leap station on turn two, followed by buried treasure and cosmic scientists turn three. All of a sudden, on turn three, he's got a setup for plankwalker.😭 Every time the knight leaped, a plankwalker would spawn, create two minions, and the board was filled with knights. Surprisingly, I ended up winning with the help of strike-through cards, a surprising lack of rocket on the zombies side. It was a fun game overall, and it really tested my deck.

Seems balanced to me Seriously though, plants got super super nerfed and zombies got super super buffed this update. The meta has been relatively balanced, maybe slightly leaning towards plants, but now zombies are definitely the meta.
You bring up a valid point. However, Plants aren't *totally* dead. When the King patch is added, Transfiguration plant decks will flourish into the meta again. It's a very powerful 4 drop, and imitating it only doubles the trouble. Not to mention, Heal Midrose was untouched by the balance patch, with the exception of Cob Cannon. She can still lock down the early game with ketchup mechanics and cliché heal BS, then deliver the final blows with Dark Matter Dragonfruit and Brainana.
To be honest, I don't play this game anymore for over 6 to 7 years, and yet I still like to watch fry em up playing with motivation this game. The way I found this bug is playing online and almost beating my opponent then, when he had 4 zombies on the board that I was about to up trade with, he got King from Buried Treasure💀 and they all turned Knights.
The second he said if it was in hand I knew it would make knights but not imediantly and so when I saw that my jaw dropped. Also I've noticed the increace of hearty heros but I was beating them and didn't see any of this and so I didn't expect anything.

From my analysis, the zombie turns into a knight instantly, there are no frames in between, even if the zombie was a gravestone, it always pops up as a knight. Like the game already coded the whole board so any zombie placed is already a knight.

Hunt(and the blue color of special ability didn't appear and wasn't underlined) when this zombie enters a new lane this get 1/1 " (didn't have + or the simbol of damage or health) and it didn't hunt
won with fry's 'The Sheriff of Nuttingham' deck against a rustbolt, got blessed with a healthnut from regifter zombie (from interdimensional zombie) and has 3 grape responsibilities and time to shine. conjured cuke from photosynthizer so maybe there's something there, doomshroom would be even better, especially in a pecanolith deck
Conspiracy Theory: In order to get quick cash each patch make only Legendaries overpowered (Nurse, Viking, King) so that people buy more packs to craft these. It is pretty obvious that these "glitches" are not accidents but intentional blunders. Everyone who codes can tell you that you can't just mysteriously implement a never before seen ability of "Affecting the feild from your hand" accidentally especially to King who shouldn't have been touched and the in hand ability is different from his board ability, seems sus to me. Hopefully with all this collateral(pun intended) they finally release set 5
One of the ways to truly beat the king glitch is by using Chompzilla and using Strikethrough cards and Healing By Ramping you can deploy Laserbeans or Elderberry’s very early in the game. Not only that but Plant Food plays a huge part of this strategy as well. Wingnut is very useful because it’s very beefy and Frenzy is rendered useless. Not only that but opponents will clog up their lanes using KOFLD cards and by simply stalling long periods of time and using strikethrough can earn you a win.
There’s a glitch with solar flares super power trick sunburn, it reverted back to getting one sun each turn instead of its new ability gaining 2 suns after use
I literally was in the middle of a game when I started this video. I was winning with Grass Knuckles when the board was getting filled with knights. I had no idea what was happening til 8 saw this. I still managed to pull a win with a shamrocket clearing the way for a boosted potted powerhouse. Still, if the king had come out earlier, I’d have been toast.
The way to beat is to use alot of control and plants that can directly attack the hero. for example in my knight counter deck I use :heartichoke, doom shroom and laser bean.

it genuinely is, you pretty much just cant play plants rn cause half the decks are rustbolt players abusing the glitch
you need to have transmogrify, goatify or blow and even if you do the opponent still got rid of very good supers (at least 2 of them) with his lol

the zombies u have in game will only turn into knights if ANY ability triggers (playing any zombie and it turning into a knight also counts as an ability [king's ability] and plant abilities count too), so in this scenario the ice pirate is the one triggering the king ability and so he turns into a knight first and that turning makes the other 2 turn into knights.. idk if that makes sense

I experienced this first hand in a ranked match. When I see a hearty hero, I just nope tf outta there.
From my analysis, the zombie turns into a knight instantly, there are no frames in between, even if the zombie was a gravestone, it always pops up as a knight. Like the game already coded the whole board so any zombie placed is already a knight.
Deep sea garg buff a random zombie changing lane? Im Spanish native talker and on Spanish it said "amphibious. Hunt(and the blue color of special ability didn't appear and wasn't underlined) when this zombie enters a new lane this get 1/1 " (didn't have + or the simbol of damage or health) and it didn't hunt

Conspiracy Theory: In order to get quick cash each patch make only Legendaries overpowered (Nurse, Viking, King) so that people buy more packs to craft these.
It is pretty obvious that these "glitches" are not accidents but intentional blunders. Everyone who codes can tell you that you can't just mysteriously implement a never before seen ability of "Affecting the feild from your hand" accidentally especially to King who shouldn't have been touched and the in hand ability is different from his board ability, seems sus to me.
Hopefully with all this collateral(pun intended) they finally release set 5
One of the ways to truly beat the king glitch is by using Chompzilla and using Strikethrough cards and Healing
By Ramping you can deploy Laserbeans or Elderberry’s very early in the game. Not only that but Plant Food plays a huge part of this strategy as well. Wingnut is very useful because it’s very beefy and Frenzy is rendered useless. Not only that but opponents will clog up their lanes using KOFLD cards and by simply stalling long periods of time and using strikethrough can earn you a win.

There’s a glitch with solar flares super power trick sunburn, it reverted back to getting one sun each turn instead of its new ability gaining 2 suns after use

I literally was in the middle of a game when I started this video. I was winning with Grass Knuckles when the board was getting filled with knights. I had no idea what was happening til 8 saw this. I still managed to pull a win with a shamrocket clearing the way for a boosted potted powerhouse. Still, if the king had come out earlier, I’d have been toast.

The way to beat is to use alot of control and plants that can directly attack the hero. for example in my knight counter deck I use :heartichoke, doom shroom and laser bean.
