Yeah no problem dude! No need for all that stuff, you can get a decent tone within amplitube itself I think. Hoping to make an updated tone video soon too.
Dammit man. I actually own a real Ampeg SVT Classic, Ampeg 8x10 cab, Darkglass Compressor plus a Sans Amp 21 DI. Think I'm gonna get these tones FOR REAL!
I really like the way the SD compressor sounds and shapes my tone, but I’ve never tried the M87. I have heard good things about it. I wanted something simple to use and I read positive things about the SD compressor. The MXR is just a little more expensive. I normally just do light compression to clean up my tone so I think either would sound good. I should make a video on the compressor alone. Thanks for watching bro!
How’s it going Drip, I haven’t messed around too much with cab eq. I normally like how the “amp closet” sounds for the cab and leave the default settings/eq. I’ll mess around with different settings for the cab occasionally but usually just stick with the default settings for the most part. I use the same cab default settings for both setups. I probably should test some sounds with the cab eq. Appreciate you checking it out.
No problem thanks for watching! I believe you can access some from the custom shop app or through the main amp screen. I’m pretty sure you can try out the ampless driver for free as well. But under the pedal section of the main amp screen the ampless bass driver will be under distortion, the tube compressor will be in the rack section under dynamics. Hope this helps, thanks again!
@@tripbass great. I've found all the plugins. question : how can you adjust the pedalboard levels precisely? example : when I try to adjust the tubecompressor level at 2.5, but I'm in 2.4, when I scroll the mouse on, with one single click, I go straight to 2.8
I think you can manually click each number and change them with your keyboard to get the precise number. You can mess around with the settings to get a good sound that works for you. I just tried to give a good starting point by showing these settings, but it’s ok if they aren’t exactly the same.
You're using the DI Box before the compressor so I take it you're feeding the compressor a line-level signal. Should I get good results by using, let's say, a FMR RNC instead? And great videos, btw!
I appreciate it, and I think you should still get good results if not better. I sometimes like to use my seymour duncan compressor pedal to my amplitube. Sometimes I feel the digital compressors and other digital pedals/effects can sound artificial at times, so I like to add a real analog pedal to my chain just to change up the sound. Hoping to make an update video soon.
@@tripbass Just to make a correction after reading more into the VT. Given that you're feeding the 1/4" output to the compressor, it's still a instrument level signal. I'm searching for a more versatile compressor than the SD Studio Bass but it seems like bass compressors need to be specifically made for bass. They're a bit tricky.
I would say it’s possible, you might have to mess around with your eq depending on how hot your bass/pickups are. The gain knob always really helps me control how my bass sounds, so I always mess around with it. I just like to make sure my bass doesn’t sound too clanky but still keeps it’s bass/low end so I’m always going up and down with it the gain, treble and drive. Thanks for watching🤘
Nice video! i was looking for a punk tone in amplitube exactly like this. Now for studio playing, I'm thinking about buying a sansamp bass driver DI. Does it sound similar to this vt bass DI?
Thank you so much dude! I love the Sansamp bass driver DI as well. I feel that the VT gives more tube/SVT type of tone, but they do sound similar. You can dial each of them in to get a really good tone. Both amazing pedals, I’d use any of the two for sure. Appreciate you leaving a comment as well 🤘
I got some Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounders in it. It’s a punchy pickup but any pbass pickup will sound pretty good with these settings. You might just have to bump up the gain or levels up. Thanks for watching dude.
No problem! Yeah normally I do have both pickups on. It can give you a pbass type of tone with just the neck pickup on that I like as well. I appreciate you checking it out!
I believe it’s based on the 300 Watt SVT Classic, they call it SVX on amplitube. To me it sounds like an SVT Classic with the warmer tone. I believe they also offer the VR too. Hope this answers your question, not sure about the reissue thing. I think it’s just based on the original models.
Yeah I always had a hard time getting a good tone from my rumble 15 so that’s why I picked up the tech 21 pedal. You can get a really nice tone no matter what type of amp you have. Definitely worth it. Maybe the lt25 has an ampeg or svt preset that can help out…I also feel that having good/fresh strings makes a big difference no matter the gear. Thanks for checking out the video.🤘
No problem! Thank you for taking the time to check it out. I’ve been using Tortex .60 picks for a long time, I really like them. Always felt that it made a difference with tone/playing as well, but could just be me lol. I’ve tried different picks but like the way the .60 feels/sounds 🤘
@@tripbass Definitely feel like the pick gauge makes a big difference on tone and it’s not mentioned much! Thank you for your answer, cheers! Looking forward to more videos brother 🤘🏼
You can get a pretty good tone with almost any type/brand of p-bass, but it does help to have the quarter pounder pickups as well. I feel they help a lot along with the strings/picks. Thanks for commenting🤘
Great, informative walkthrough of your setup without relying on tools within a DAW or additional plug-ins that are behind the scenes. Thank you, dude!
Yeah no problem dude! No need for all that stuff, you can get a decent tone within amplitube itself I think. Hoping to make an updated tone video soon too.
Super comprehensive. Thanks for showing all the settings and numbers!
That bass tone is awesome, bro! You nailed it!
Thanks a lot dude, hopefully the video is helpful. I’ll be posting an updated tone video soon too.
Glad i came across this video. I've been on the fence about getting Amplitub. After seeing this video, think I will take the plunge.
really good tone! sounds great!🤘
Thanks Allan! I appreciate you checking out the video bro🤘
The perfect bass tone, dude!
Thanks dude, these settings have worked well for me for a while. Hoping to make an updated video with new amps on here soon.
Right on man! Great tone bro!
Yo David thank you bro! Means a lot and keep doing your thing dude🤘
Really helpful. Thanks for this!
thanks for sharing, I have been wanting to get a focusrite as I live in an apt and loud noise can be a problem. keep it up
No problem, thanks for checking it out. I definitely use mine all the time. As soon as I learned about Amplitube I bought one right away.
Beauty tone
I appreciate it dude🤘

very good, do you prefer the seymour duncan studio bass compressor or mxr m87 to get that tone?

What are you doing with the eq after the cab? Also are you using the same cab settings with both setups?

Can you get a similar tone out of passive humbuckers through an active EQ within the bass or it will turn overall darker?

Is your amplitube preset available on the app?
I don't think so but I'll try and see about putting the preset on there.

@@tripbass thanks for the reply! really want QPs on my PJ as well and this video helps support my decision
Hey can you do more of those and show how you would set Weezer and Green Day bass tones?
I’m hoping to make an updated video soon thanks for watching!
Hi thanks for the video! If you are playing your jazz bass, do you keep both bridge/neck pickups cranked up?
No problem! Yeah normally I do have both pickups on. It can give you a pbass type of tone with just the neck pickup on that I like as well. I appreciate you checking it out!
Hi. Is this amplitube based on the vintage SVT amp or at the SVT Classic CL Reissue ? Thanks
I believe it’s based on the 300 Watt SVT Classic, they call it SVX on amplitube. To me it sounds like an SVT Classic with the warmer tone. I believe they also offer the VR too. Hope this answers your question, not sure about the reissue thing. I think it’s just based on the original models.
can I use mixbox efx on amplitube 5 cuz they are all locked?
can i download the preset ?
I believe so, if not let me check out my Amplitube settings. I haven’t messed around with downloading presets as much.
i just have a fender rumble lt25 amp and i am struggtling making this sound i dontget it lol

what gauge are your strings?
45-65-80-100 🤘
Is there anyway to do this using the Guitar Rig software?
I've never tried it but I am sure you can if you can use similar gear on it.
Thank you so much for this video man! Can I ask what pick type/size do you use? Do you feel like it makes a difference?

I think you forgot to metion "new" or "fairly new" strings. That's the first step to any good tone
Yeah they help too, I like my strings when they are a few weeks old.
First i need a good bass

how to get sound chris#2 anti flag
That would be cool. I need to make an updated tone video and include Chris in there…
