You’re an amazing bassist Paul. I like your videos of you playing bass to KISS songs. Mark Hoppus and Gene Simmons are two bassists with sounds and riffs I really like. I really hope that Hoppus beats cancer and wish that Simmons would get an attitude adjustment. Keep up the good work and great videos man!!!
great video, as always! :) although blink (and punk in general) may have simple chord progression, mark's bass lines sure are solid, and attends the band's need i just hope to see mark, travis (and maybe tom) live someday. blink is nostalgic for me but i never got the chance, they never performed here in brasil, kinda sucks :/ but right now i trully hope that mark can beat cancer and continue his career and most important, his life.
Absolutely great video 🤟 Thanx for your content 😎 and if I could ask - what about soundgarden’s Ben Shepherd? He is one the most underrated bassist in grunge music, but also inovative and soooo cool in general... I would love a new video about him 😏
Awesome vid, Mark is one of my favourite bassists and one of the best in my opinion. Would still love to see a video on Roger Waters, Paul McCartney or Les Claypool
@@johnaldbrillten8930 He definitely used it at least up until Man Overboard to my knowledge, which was recorded in 2000, as well as Adams Song on Enema Of The State.
I'm way familiar with Mark Hoppus style since high school. Right now, I'm currently in Paul McCartney since I got a viola bass. Since I got a rick bass, I can go back to Hoppus style but the tone may sounds like Bruce Foxton.
Paul check out Joe Raposo bassist for RKL Rich Kids on Acid and Lagwagon and see/hear fir yourself why he should at least be considered for a Bass Habit Video.
Please it would be a good idea if you could make a video about Jason newsted of metallica. He changed metallica's tone and his sound was still perfect.
I've always felt that when Mark wasn't singing he would do more of the notey stuff and Tom would be singing and just laying down whatever chords were needed
They have both straight up said this was the case in a few interviews. (At least in their first few releases they did this. And it's also why Tom/Matt sings the final bridge part of "Feeling This" when they play live, because Mark tried to get more notey on a song he was singing. lol)
Man I love your videos, are very useful for upgrade different skills Now, could you make a "How to sound like" of Nick Oliveri from Qotsa, his style and way to play are very intersting.

Can you do a bass habits video on Francis Buchholz?
I have one of the later Mark Hoppus basses, absolutely killer for punk playing and bass in general.
My first bass was the early surf green precision bass. I still have it and it’s pretty versatile
Great job Paul! Mark is one of the most influential and inventive bass players, he is also a great guy, I hope he will be back soon to health.
he beat cancer😁❤️❤️

I just heard some Blink 182 yesterday and thought a Mark Hoppus video might be interesting. Great timing. Wonderful video as always
Nice video!
What's about video about Robert DeLeo? One of the most underrated musicians.
Thank you for this, mate!

Can you do Mani of the stone roses
Can you show us the gear (pedals and effects) that he used? Thank you Paul!
A lot of early blink was played with a Stingray, not sure if he ever used his Mako P bass copy on any recordings, but worth to note that he used one.
That's true, Dude Ranch was recorded w a stingray
@@johnaldbrillten8930 He definitely used it at least up until Man Overboard to my knowledge, which was recorded in 2000, as well as Adams Song on Enema Of The State.
@@Snandra66 I think Don't Leave Me is played on a Stingray too, but I'm not sure

i can't name a better bassist in this genre. just a great musical mind. AND cancer free💪🏻💪🏻
Nice work 😊👍🎸
Would like to see a video about Tom Aria. Not so many people pay attention at his playing, he's most underrated slayer member
Thank you so much!
Can you do Geddy lee next?
Can you do a video about Joe Lally from the Fugazi years?
genial! gracias por el viideo
Can you do Peter Steele of Type O Negative next?
Always loved his tone. It's hard to get it without your neighbors hating you though
Paul check out Joe Raposo bassist for RKL Rich Kids on Acid and Lagwagon and see/hear fir yourself why he should at least be considered for a Bass Habit Video.
Make a video about Ryan Martinie
Loving the video as always Paul. Can I make a request for Eric avery please
He did Eric Avery
As always very good video. How about one on Ronnie Lane? The Faces had some incredible bass lines.
Hi. Whats the brand of the Pickups of your Precision Bass? Thanks
Can you do Geddy Lee or Chris Squire please?
Can you make a video of Carlos D from Interpol?
That'd be awesome.
Agreed
Please it would be a good idea if you could make a video about Jason newsted of metallica. He changed metallica's tone and his sound was still perfect.
Mark Sandman of Morphine please

pls do how to sound like rudy sarzo or markus grosskopf
Make, how to sound like Jason Newsted please!!!
Bruce foxton ? Pls
Next video how to your bass sounds like paul FroM doberman
Does Mark only use down strums?
No
🎸🎸🎸💥💥💥✨✨✨
Damn, you sound exactly like Andriy Vasylenko
Wouldn't it just be easier to refer to it as a Perfect 4th instead of saying Inverted Perfect 5th?
Did you say that alternate picking is key to the blink sound? 😂try down picking.
Well, this is awkward
They use the same chord progression in like half their songs. lol
Do you mean like most of the punk genre?
I've even noticed that with classic rock. The same g c d progression or different variations.
