Alex, you need to increase your construction sites, 20 each for max build, and focus on fixing one line of industry at a time is more effective than scattering the improvements

Yesterday, I did the same thing: Lowest Taxes vs Highest Wages. Whenever I wasn't in wars that gave me negative 400-600K, I always had a positive of around 700K and climbing on the latest update. I didn't know what I did to get that, but it ended up with everyone getting really high standards of living (except for the lower strata, from a range between 8.3-17.6).
Almost shot my drink out my nose when I heard the noise given off when noting how close you were to surpassing the US 😂😂😂
War has to do depending on your weapons that your maiking and the type on your battalions, like trench warfare is great at defending and squads/armor are better for attacking and your have to keep men up to date in combat up until then or they’ll be doo doo

@Alex the Rambler!.....watching you get frustrated at the battle with Russia...I felt that. I am enjoying most of the game so far, but the battle system is pretty obtuse...even for Paradox lol

Real world governments do it all the time...fudge the figures. If you just *tell* everyone you're economy is doing great, no one can *prove* necessarily it didn't grow 😉

More often than not you’re probably using too many construction centers
Also if you play Nation with low pops, try to focus on manufacturing industry and not resources. Just import resources n export manufactured good. Check the trade screen for deficits

the more a product becomes available to the market, the more the market shifts to account for it, resulting in it becoming more in demand than ever before. once people realize they can buy steel, they buy steel. a good example of this in real world economics/theory are those raspberry pi like devices, before which we had something similar to it, but nobody bought it, everybody realized that the pi can fill a niche and then they were bought like hotcakes sell. eventually leading to the current environment where they are sold out everywhere, and the only things you can buy are the competing products on the market, which aren't hitting the same highs.
what i mean by that, is that nobody cared/had a use for the rasberry pi, but once it started being sold, they couldn't make enough of them, because everybody had 'idea's, that they could not simply fulfill with regular devices anymore. especially the wifi zero, which made its way onto garage door openers, remote controlled cars, robots, flying drones.... all of which never used to require something like a computer.

I think this would have worked better if you did the steps to snipe all the lesser german states from prussia so you could eventually form germany.

@@flyingkite2972 it got a total overhaul at one point and it made it playable then it was abandoned. I don't want abandonment but lots of the core gameplay needs to be fixed imo.
@@johnruta1359 I don't think overhaul would do vic3 any good lol. The bones are there, but it needs polish.

You know after watching this I realized that not only do I not enjoy watching others play Victoria 3, I also don't think I enjoy watching myself play it either LOL I am just going to go back to playing HOI4 where I actually feel like I am accomplishing something.
this game is just so graphically unappealing to me
I think watching this gave me cancer. you made a lot of newer player mistakes. war was especially frustrating to watch while the system is far from good the reason you were losing was supply issues shortages heavily effect your army's ability to fight even if its a small one while it's dumb that you can't stockpile it you can use exports to keep the industry going in peacetime. as for other goods I usually go through a few different checks as to how to remedy that first being can I create it myself this can be through a variety of ways like production methods buildings conquest and only then will I import. if you are looking for an easy way to build GDP especially early game is to secure staple goods as your pops will always ensure that industry is steady and there wont be as many radicals. then after securing those goods check out the goods with great potential for import don't import them but focus on expanding your domestic industry to fill those needs. imports should always always be a tool of last resort as they are fickle and in the case of something like tools can really handicap your domestic growth by making it to unprofitable to domestically produce it. while you should be using the export mechanic largely for price stabilization and to introduce more money into your economy when necessary as in even if you have a surplus of say something like coal you should really try and expend it in your own market first before attempting to export it to someone else's market. this strategy led me to be able to get Sweden to 1 billion GDP with low taxes and high spending including things like welfare and still leaving me with making to much money. the game is all about build strategy and how you can attempt to build an economy.
PS: if you have trouble trying to secure funds or having a buffer try and secure the gold mine in Brunei as well when you are looking to create new buildings always do it using the lenses and market pages so you can eyeball the amount you need to build so that you don't crash the price or build to little, and as previously mention by some other folks you should always be trying to expand how much construction you have access to I usually do it for every 6k or so income I'm getting as the construction limit will quickly become a bottleneck once you economy scales to a certain point.
