- Today we're trying something rather odd on HOI4. Can You Beat Germany As Anti-Air France?! is the question, I will only build anti-air tanks and try and hold France against Germany in the WW2 simulator known as Hearts of Iron 4!

On a seperate note, what about an Armored Car focused France? They are the only nation that gets a armored car tank designer, maybe it could use a little investigation in how good that route could be?
Armored cars aren't worth building for anything because you can do anything they can with tanks for less ic cost. For example slap 1 hmg on the interwar light tank and for 1 military xp and like half the ic of armored cars you got garrison units with excellent hardness. Just need the mp support company. If you go mobile warfare and get the one thing that makes tanks and motorized/mechanized templates free you can convert a copied armor template to a 50 width pure light tank template with mp for like 30-40 xp.
@@honeybadger6275 Initially so yeah, but I think it'd be a interesting comparison in the long term, I wonder if you can build a 9 IC tank that only requires 2 steel 1 tung with the same stats as the AC 4 unit.
@@Xeemix Might not be able to get a tank with the exact stats, but a tank is going to have better armor than an armored car and when you account for things like xp cost to make a division and how long it would take to research the best armored car vs a tank with better stats, there's really no reason to use armored cars.

@@Xeemix Yup! I mean you could probably use them in single player even though they aren't optimal but it doesn't take much to beat the braindead ai. In multiplayer it definitely wont work though.

I honestly prefer anti-air over planes 9/10 times, unless I’m a major that is obligated to make air, like germany, america or the uk. But my favorite thing is going a smaller but capable European minor (i really like any of the baltics) and making Fortress Me. Just put 80 air attack in my divs, max out radar and static aa (and it’s an intuitive mix of things to get, since the radar techs buff static aa hit chance flat out before even making radars) in every state, maybe throw down a few forts in the obvious places, and then sit still and watch as my enemy politely kills their entire army on my frontline because they attacked like their air superiority meant something. It’s probably one of my favorite things to do in hoi, second only to making armored cars work in an actual division, because I’m a hipster, but that’s off topic

I think this could work, my airforce was not the best as democratic Italy but with anti air built in the north and in my main army I was able to fend off the Luftwaffe. :)
I tried this but as Belgium a little while ago, had only 24 divisions but made 10 2 1’s (10 infantry 2 artillery 1 anti air). They shredded the German divisions and ended up stopping the fall of France ending WW2 in 1940. I thought it would be a challenge, it was surprisingly easy (though I did go facist).
I then later tried France and had no support from the British and had both Italy and Germany duck me over, though I screwed up on my on my anti air by having only a little when Germany declared. Though I held till 1942.

Alex you only need to release Tunisia, you can get Algeria as cores, if you have naval support there is no point in releasing algeria

For last couple of months i have seen a lot of Alex's videos. It's sad to see how world crisis stroke him: i remember millions of videos vith subs limit 400, and now its just 250
With Germany you could capitulate Poland, France, and the Soviet Union without ever consuming any oil. Artillery plus AA in your divisions, attacking the Soviet Union in 1940. Your infantry division with lots of metal could not be stopped.

Hello, Today I played a Hoi4 Game as Turkey and wanted to use paratroopers. After I researched them and build transport planes, I wanted to use the paratroopers and I couldn't click the airport, because it didn't show up. But even after I reinstalled the game it didn't work. Could someone please help me?

ngl how i play france is i do anti air light tanks with the interwar chase and light tank self propelled arty, then basic ass inf that 18width with shovel and arty
have some inf for italy and germany, and make some of those 30 widths light tanks, make no air, and just kinda defeat germany in benelux with what tanks i can make by then 2 anti air batalions, and the rest mix of self propelled arty light tanks and motorized :) (no mechanized since expensive)

First thing I do as France is extend the maginot manually. Level 5 forts all the way to the coast then build civs and mils. Then I can go with the aggressive side of the focus which I prefer. Works really well.
AA's been the meta for like 2 years now. Why are you just now trying this?!
And he makes the worst aa tank possible. And uses it as a frontline tank... If he's alive by the end I want his head.
Keep in mind he made a lot of mistake imagine how would he do if did well

Anti air has always been pretty OP
Nothing personal but I don't know why that UA-camrs feel the need for face-cams? Isn't it just extra work to record, synchronise and render? It is an artistic choice at the end of the day. With an information dense game like hearts of Iron 4 does sometimes get in the way of content. I don't know not an expert and I'm not a UA-camr you do you.
