This is from the perspective of the Angel of Death sent by God as the final plague upon Egypt to free the Hebrews, which was to kill all the firstborn sons of Egypt, including the Pharaoh's. Also the lyrics nod to Passover in which the first born sons of the Hebrews were spared as the Angel passes over houses painted with lamb's blood on the doorway. Creeping Death = Angel of Death.
