Great video - answered my questions. I'm looking at the Groovy Landing Gear to install on my 8 yr old Native Slayer Propel 13. The instructions mentioned a 180 lb limit for that kit but I'm pretty sure they are referring to use on gear tracks. I would never consider a track installation and my Slayer has plenty of room via the central hatch to bolt it down to large pieces of starboard inside the hull that I have in my shop. I do expect to launch and retrieve my Slayer fully loaded with the NK300 and 36V battery on board. Your experiences convinced me that it's safe for me to do that. I do believe that few kayaks will benefit from extended time left on the Boonedox wheels. Even temperature controlled, I have no interest in risking deformation of the hull.
This is actually one of the best videos going over everything about this system that I’ve seen and actually makes me more confident in getting it and how to properly install it
Thanks for making this video, I am trying to figure out how to install on my NuCanoe Frontier 12, Boonedox told me to buy the bracket kit. I don’t have track system on upper rail. Going to look and see if can through hull mount it.
The tracks on the outback are not metal. I discussed that repeatedly with the company prior to trying the track mount and they assured me repeatedly it would work and they do it all the time. I don’t see how that’s true knowing what I know now.
Landing gear will damage your kayak long term unless you launch at perfect deep water launches. Any big gaps in the cement, rocks etc will cause a spring like action that will damage your kayak or the landing gear legs. Cart is a better solution for most kayaks.
I'll admit to not watching past the intro so if you redacted or changed some of what you said in the intro I didn't hear that. First your comment about buying the landing gear that attaches to the gear tracks being a terrible idea is pretty funny and 100% false. I installed gear tracks with backing plates on my Revo 13 and attached Boondox landing gear to those gear tracks and had zero issues over a 2 year span of constant use. And installing landing gear on gear tracks with backing plates is not much different that how you have the landing gear installed on your kayak in the intro of the video. It's still mounted on a flat surface with a backing plate. Second, after having Boondox landing gear on 3 different kayaks I will also disagree with your statement they are worth the money. That might be the case if you have a tank for a kayak (like a PA 14) but it's not the case for a lighter kayak like a Hobie Compass at least in my opinion. Reality is whether the Boondox is worth the money is a matter of opinion not fact. The other fact is unless kayaks with Boondox landing gear are used with caution and not used in rough terrain they are prone to damaging kayaks. By design the Boondox is aluminum and stainless steel sandwiched between a fairly thin piece of plastic. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the plastic will lose in stress situations. Bouncing a loaded kayak across an asphalt parking lot full of pot holes, cracks, rocks, or even pulling the kayak off a curb or across uneven grassy areas can and in many cases will cause damage to the kayak. For these reasons it is my opinion Boondox landing gear is not the best option for kayak transportation to the from the water.
I’ll admit to not reading past the first few sentences. JK, I read it. Track with backing plates is vastly different from the instructions I was given by the company when installing on the outback tracks, but a backing plate would have made no difference in that case. Also it’s obviously opinion but to me my opinion is fact. Others can do as they want.

This method of launching a kayak is second only to using a trailer. You won't be disappointed. Thanks for watching!

Thank you!!! I appreciate that. This is the kind of feedback content creators do this for! If you need any help I’ll try and guide you. Tight lines!

You're welcome. I would not install it any way except through hull.
Works great on my Old Town Sportsman 106 PDL (through hull) and Native Slayer Max 10 (geartrac).
It's a fantastic piece of gear and anyone not using it who needs a cart is really missing out!
Make your own and the Corp. Junk and warrenty problems are solved!!!
I would rather use Boonedox personally.
Was the track that broke aluminum?

We will have to disagree on this one.
So is it pronounced boone-dox or boon-ne-dox??
I pronounce it like "boon-a-dox". I have heard it pronounced like four different ways.
