Thanks for asking! At the very back of the vehicle it is a super cheap Walmart curtain rod. I have a bungee cord across the grab handles at the front of the vehicle and one in the middle on the grab handles. The curtain rod and front bungee stay up all the time. After the rods are loaded I pull the middle bungee across to help lock them in place. And then I release the middle bungee to take them out. It’s a real pain to slide them over two bungees that’s why I release the middle one. I just put them through that front bungee, rest the end of the rod on the curtain rod, and then lock that middle bungee.

Funny thing is I am usually really good about that. A friend pointed out to me right after I uploaded this video that I didn’t wet it. He said you’d jump off that dry hot board too. Until he said it I didn’t even realize I hadn’t done it. I started feeling bad for the fish instead of being mad at it.

Honestly less about the hooks and more about the mindset. This was practice before a tournament and I had already caught several fish. So I wasn’t real enthusiastic about hook sets and landing them. I had several on Texas rigs and jigs that I didn’t even try and set a hook on.

Seems to be random what comes out of my mouth when I get one on.

Rock solid. Last I knew from the guy who bought that kayak off me it was still holding strong. Kydex makes a heck of a keel guard and should out last the kayak in most situations.

They repaired it under warranty. It’s now broken again.

Thank you! I would suggest making sure the rack is even over the cross bars. I put mine slightly more towards the front than back but how you load it is up to you. I’d aim for even distribution but security is more important than placement IMO. Test what works best for you!

I use just a mattress in my solo set up (that video actually drops Saturday for the public) but this is far more comfortable with two people. And with the limited storage space in a renegade it helps a ton to have room to store things under the bed.

I’ll have to check, but you have to modify for the shear pin. Guess I forgot to mention that. I’ve had no vibration issues though.

You’re welcome. I used a dremel and opened it up just a little at a time till the pin barely fit. Seems to be going well so far. Probably about 150-200 hours of use on it at this point already.

Sorry to hear it’s not going well. My experience has been amazing but in any business there’s going to be variables. Hope it all gets sorted out!
