My own opinion are these there are 2types of niches 1. A normal niche were you pick 1 topic your channel will be centered on. E.g hair or makeup etc 2. Demographic niche here you pick a group of people usually sex and age group and center your channel is making videos that interests them, e.g my niche is a demographic niche of ladies my age group in school,I know they are definitely interested in hair,makeup,fashion,relationships,school,challenges etc. So I hope I made sense please

My biggest trouble is I don't have a lot of direction and want all my videos to be perfect (which isn't realistic) so I'm just trying to find that organization so when I start uploading again I can put up not only great content but also consistent, meaningful, content that I can be proud of.

I also have pretty strong political opinions and can talk for hours and hours about certain subjects. I am passionate for them. The idea of integrating both in a channel seems absurd to me. So I really can't choose between the two.
The problem is that I'm interested in SO MANY things and can talk passionately about all of them. But I chose photography business and self improvement for a niche now and I'm starting to create videos around that. I'm actually starting a full time photography business right now and I wish a good channel like that would be up there already.
There is VEDA which is every April, the challenge is to upload a video every day for the month of April.. aside from a few travel videos, that's really all I have on my channel. haha... I don't have any idea what my niche would be

This was so helpful! I have a lot (a *lot*) of interests, but I've already had two ideas for things I can do on my channel (Yurok language videos and sewing tutorial/progress videos, along with stuff about my sustainable/minimalist journey). Wokhlew!
Loving all of these niche videos and I totally agree with it all. My only issue is that I am uploading one video every Sunday and I've managed this consistently for months! 🎉 My channel is basically about having young children / babies - pregnancy, new mums, activities for babies etc (I can talk about this for a long time!) but if I niche down into something v specific I wouldn't have enough content ideas to stay within the niche AND create on video every week...
I make a wide variety of videos, so finding a niche is gonna be super hard because I wanna do ALL THE THINGS! Lots of people make videos dissing a video/person, and (particularly because I’m an optimist) I want to find good things about things that others view bad.
I think niching down is a good idea but I think niching down over time is important too as you hit your stride and understand yourself better as a content creator. I have a few topics that I could with to my friends for ages but they aren't really subjects that have enough beef for an entire channel. I like trying to navigate while doing :)

With each chapter my content will slowing target different age groups because my interests will shift. For example, rn i want to target young adults because I am one but eventually I'll be an adult and start a family where I'll probably start gearing my channel to be about that specific chapter of my life.

I could see myself documenting this journey and sharing tips and ideas to overcome obstacles that would help others solve similar problems they face. it's always okay to throw in occasional videos about other stuff. just 80%-90% of your videos should be your niche
