It's been my dream since I was 5 but I'm just scared that any one I know from my society watches it and makes fun 😭
I was especially afraid of what my dad might say, as he is extremely opposed to being public on the internet... (To clarify: I started my UA-cam this year on my 25th birthday.) I know he knows I'm on UA-cam, but he never mentions it. So basically I had no backlash from the person I most expected it from, and my mother was just super happy/proud. ❤
I have a good bunch of friends supporting me, and other than that no one says anything, so all my fears of "what will others think?" were unnecessary! On top of that I made new friends and I feel that it helps me grow as a person too, so as Muchelle said: I only "regret" not starting earlier! 😉
i want to do youtube so bad but i am just so horrified of being cancelled.

i just think that it’s my most worst fear
I found myself in every fear you mentioned hahah but in the end I just started because I love youtube and why not do something you enjoy :D

I started my UA-cam channel 2 days ago and I think what helped me get past the fear of starting was loving and accepting myself. I also found that when I wasn’t as judgemental of myself I wasn’t afraid of being judged
Literally I was so so scared of starting my channel but I uploaded my 3rd video today thanks to you! Your videos really help

There is a whole world out there of all different kinds of talents and personalities. If you believe in yourself and stay true to yourself, there WILL be people who want to support you! There’s enough room for success for everybody. It is a long process because the good things in life don’t come easy, but if you do it because you truly love it and have goals that go beyond youtube for example, like making a huge impact in the world with your personal brand, then not even fear should be holding you back. 💗 find that fire within you and go all in on your dreams and passions!
I just came across this video. It is the New Year and I have been contemplating for over a year now to start a channel. I am also a perfectionist and always question myself. I think the thing that is holding me back mostly is the editing and all the technical aspects. I am 61 and these things don't come easy to me. I am a makeup artist and image cosultant and love teaching.
However I am encouraged and this is the year for me!!!

It took me years to find the courage to start a channel, I always thought I could never be great at it. But it's the best thing I've done! Found so much confidence in myself :)
I still struggle with this especially since I see that there are some weird creepers on UA-cam comments, but at the same time I know I need to post on UA-cam to promote my business 😓

Great video! I overcame my fear by just posting a video and realizing how few views I had so even if haters did watch it I appreciated the view. 😆 😊

I am in Zimbabwe and it took me more than a year to start. I also involve a group of youth to assist me. Considering that this is Africa and Zimbabwe - I am really happy with the progress. Have done about 5 videos so far!
Definitely just doing it! I had a little channel all about animal care, sucked at regular uploading, didn't know how to edit, got pregnant, had a baby, life happened. Now baby is over a year old, pregnant again and I got the itch to start doing videos again. Found your channel and have taken your advice to heart. 💕 Making videos I want to make, creating thumbnails, learning how to edit (even if it is only imovie '10 😅), but basically just having fun with it and trying to stop worrying about all the rest. Doing it because I enjoy it, not for some big end result. Enjoying the journey basically.

Michelle, I just discovered ChannelNotes. What a beautiful and helpful channel! Thank you! I'm in the process of starting a YT channel (as you can see I haven't even uploaded a pic yet) and my biggest obstacle is seeing myself on camera. I filmed an intro video then deleted all the footage because I couldn't stand the way I looked. It's odd because I don't normally feel this way about myself. This video has encouraged me to keep pushing through this fear and get what I feel is a really important message out into the world. Thanks again!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Your first example about worrying what people at school will think of you is exactly me and has been for the longest time. A few years ago I had a UA-cam channel but I deleted all my videos because some people found out but I didn't know and I didn't like how awkward I was. After a couple of years I'm now so different and changed so much, I'm so much more comfortable in my own skin and really want to try again and do stuff that I love and not what used to be super popular.
Your point about how if your in high school your most likely never going see that person ever again once you graduate is such a good point! Thank you!

I think we've all had some of these 'fears' to overcome in front of the camera, tbh I've only just started getting over them but I now think of my channel more as a business platform and that has helped me massively! The only thing that holds me back is not being confident I'll be able to stay consistent. I have a busy life and feel so exhausted half the time I'm not sure I could keep it up. I know I have the skills and would like to share them with others as I had a store years ago and taught very successful how to classes. I just wish I had more free time "and didn't need to work for a living" so I could do You Tube full time... guess I just need to bite the bullet and just do it. Hey!! I just found this channel and watched this video! very informational and accurate haha, this was basically me, before I started UA-cam! I was very shy, awkward, and was pushing everything off until I had the "perfect setup," which won't ever happen. So I started just a month ago. Thank you for the advice. and I've overcome a lot, in terms of confidence and mindsets. Have a great day! :)
*I'm sooo glad I started my channel* it's so much fun! I was so scared of what people(especially family and friends) would say so I kept my channel a secret but once they found out they were very supportive. They have subd to my channel. I realized there is nothing to be scared of.

I start my UA-cam Channel right now ( start to film in less then 5 minutes) and Iam so exited and a bit afraid :).
I saved money months and months for the whole equipment and talked to so many influencers and other people. The set is ready, lighting on fleek and everything prepared :).

Hey Muchelle, I have been following you for awhile on your main channel as well as this one. I just wanted to say you truly are inspiring and you make a dream so much more attainable. This channel is seriously so helpful! I’m that girl who’s been wanting to start a channel for 5+years and always just buried it. This week I’ve made the decision to begin pre-filming so I can develop a consistent schedule. Being upfront and excited about launching a channel/blog is such great advice! I was really nervous about what one friend would think about my content. I was terrified about that judgement.
So as an exposure-therapy-esque experiment, I called another friend who I share EVERYTHING with and told him (excitedly) about my new project. I told him my vision and he was so excited with me! That really helped remind me that even though my imagination/anxiety is telling me that things will go terribly, things can unexpectedly go well too!
Also if you don't have a person in mind who you could tell IRL, you could tell another small creator online and get support!
ugh I was the same and finally just started. But also feel the doubts still sometimes. slowly getting over that bullshit! thanks for videos like these, it makes so much sense! 😀

I have started my UA-cam channel because of all the things that happened in my life (break up, depression,...) and it helps me a little bit more happy :) Now I know my video sucks but I am learning to enjoy the journey and hopefully I will gey better ^^ Taking in all the information I can get my hands on so this involves binge watching this channel 😂
